  1. Don't know if Grimm is the answer, but I like the fact that he is a hard nosed kind of guy. This team needs to get mentally tougher and grow a set and Grimm might be the right guy to instill this kind of attitude. I am tired of the Bills getting pushed around and laughed at.
  2. Agree with the posters about Chan being a good solid man. I don't believe there is any disputing that. The problem is he was a terrible football coach. He needed to be fired and I am happy that it is done. Who knows what the future holds, but this team had enough talent the past two years to be way better than 6-10. They were poorly coached and changes needed to be made. I believe a decent HC and staff can make this team a playoff team as soon as next season. And please don't come back with the "who would want to coach in Buffalo?" argument. I have heard it and I don't happen to believe it. I believe it is possible to find a competent HC and coaching staff and turn this thing around fairly quickly.
  3. And once again, optimism reigns at TBD.
  4. Thank you Captain Optimism.
  5. I like Wilson as well. Hope they get him and I do believe he will be there in RD 2.
  6. So explain to me in what Universe winning this game makes us 8-8. We will finish 6-10 instead of 5-11. Winning will have cost us position in the draft in every single round. If we were playing for 8-8 then yes, winning makes sense. But playing for 6-10 instead of 5-11 makes no sense at all. It actually hurts the team's chances in the long term.
  7. Explain how winning this game helps this team in any possible way. It does nothing except ensure that their draft position is lower in each and every round of the draft.
  8. We have just as much right to watch the game and hope that the Bills lose as you do to watch it and hope that they win a meaningless game. To me that is what is silly. Losing today makes sense for the good of the franchise. Winning does not. It is silly.
  9. Can't agree at all. The players that are coming back next year know how bad this team was. Winning this game means nothing. The Jets know that and are being smart about it. They are making sure that they lose so they get a better draft pick. Any time winning meant anything this team showed how little heart they have. Again, winning a meaningless final game of the season only ensures that they will not get the player that they so desperately need in the draft. Where were these guys when the Jets completely embarrassed them to open the season? That game meant 10x more than this one and they showed their true colors. I have been watching this pattern for 10 years and am sick of it. For once, please Buffalo Bills do something smart and lose this damned game.
  10. Anyone not believe that the Jets are tanking this game?
  11. Yes, love that C.J.. He's the one player on the field that is as worried about winning this game as we are.
  12. You knew going in that we would win this game. It is the epitome of Buffalo Bills football. That is, lose all the games that you need to win and then when losing would be beneficial, you win. It has been going on for years.
  13. Bills will win because it will hurt their chances in the draft and they are the Bills. Hard to root for a loss, but that is what I'm doing, so of course they will win.
  14. Good thing you're just speculating. Since we're just speculating though I speculate that you are wrong. Kelly may have an increased role, but it will not be as CEO. I also speculate that there are plenty of good coaches that would want to coach the Bills. It doesn't have to be a "marquee" name. We just picked the wrong coach last time and probably also the wrong GM. With a new leadership team in place, I believe that this team has enough talent to compete. They were badly coached. Lots of guys would want to make their mark with a team like this. I don't believe it would take much tweaking to make this a playoff team. And doing that would help establish a coach as a winner. The trick will be finding the right GM who can recognize the right traits in a coach. Not easily done, but I speculate it is doable
  15. No one else better? Christ I could do better. Get rid of this clown. I'll take my chances with anyone new, thank you very much. Gailey is a horrendous HC. I don't care if it is just as bad or worse as long as it is not Gailey. Can't watch his team bumble and stumble their way through games any longer.
  16. I say take Mante Te'o if he is there in the first. Take the best QB available in round 2 and sign a decent veteran free agent QB as well. Cut the current crop of QB's and move on.
  17. Just curious, what would be your recommendation? Do nothing and hope that Gailey will get better?
  18. Disagree that Gailey is a good OC. The league adjusted to his playcalling during his first season. He still has not made any adjustments and his play calling has become very predictable. I am far from an expert, but most of the time, just from watching them play each week, I can tell what play they are going to run just by looking at the formation.
  19. Yes, I am tired of the status quo and would have liked to have seen Jackson when he could have made a difference. Jackson may not run a 4.5, but he's not far off (4.7). This was scout's evaluation of him after the combine, "among the top-5 quarterbacks in ball speed and 40 yard dash". He is athletic and has a strong arm. I just believe he would be a good fit for the read option that everyone seems to be running. Too bad we will never find out.
  20. I don't think we're ignoring his 50 starts, just tired of Fitz. It's really too late to give TJax a shot now, but the stubbornness by Gailey has cost this team dearly. Not just in decisions about who plays and doesn't, but refusing to adjust when opposing defenses have made adjustments to his play calling among other things. This team needed a shakeup at the QB position a long time ago. I for one would have liked to see Jackson run the read option like Kaepernick and Wilson are doing among others. It could not possibly have turned out any worse than what we got with Fitz.
  21. The read option seems to be the current trend in NFL offenses. I would wager that either TJax or Brad Smith could run it better than Fitz. Too late now, but it might have been worth a look at midseason when they still had something to play for. We already knew that Fitz wasn't going to get us there.
  22. "best chance" for what? They are 5-10 with Fitz as the starter this year. So none of those other guys gives them an equal chance at losing?
  23. If you don't think Jon Gruden is a better HC than Chan Gailey, then there is no point in discussing it. Gruden has been watching film of every team in the league for several years now getting ready for his "cush" gig on ESPN. With him at the helm, I guarantee that we will neve lose because our team was "outcoached". Sheesh. Can't believe anyone would not believe this would be a good move and a step in the right direction.
