The one and only TBD Political Thread
xsoldier54 replied to Simon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What do you mean I can't think that, 93% doesn't lie my friend. Do you really think that 93% of any one race would have voted for a candidate if it was not based on his or her race? C'mon you can't be that naive. And I never said or implied that all Hispanics were illegal. What I said was that Romney's stance on illegal immigration scares all Hispanics. And the fact that single women and people who don't go to church overwhelmingly supported Obama tells me that these two groups agree with his policies for different reasons, but the part that scares me is that together with the Black and Hispanic vote, these groups won the election for Obama. Not sure what your hypothetical math equation has to do with my original post. I didn't say anything about voters who chose Romney being more informed, well researched, or knowledgable than those that voted for Obama. I merely quoted statistics from exit polls that showed NATIONALLY which groups voted for Obama in overwhelming numbers. It was these groups that swayed the election and I believe that their votes were based on either race, illegal immigration policies or other opinions that do not reflect those of the majority of people. Together these groups won the election for Obama. That is very clear based on actual numbers. -

You want to know why? Here's why. 93% of Black voters chose Obama (wonder how many would have voted for him if he were white) 73% of Hispanic voters chose Obama (wonder if this had anything to do with Romney's position to actually enforce immigration laws) Single Women and People who never attend church also overwhelmingly supported Obama. In a close election, these groups were the difference. It would not have mattered who the Republican candidate was, based on these numbers. This election was about race, illegal immigration and an extreme liberal minority. That is why I believe it was a sad day. -

"Given the opposing views on the speed and degree of fiscal consolidation necessary, the status quo outcome implies difficult negotiations ahead on the fiscal cliff ... and the debt ceiling," analysts at Nomura wrote in a note to clients. That is more of the same Obama policies and gridlock in the House and Senate due to GOP and Democrat majorities respectively. America voted for gridlock and that is a bad thing for business. Didn't add up in what way? Romney is a proven success in the business world and has governed a state with a balanced budget. What has Obama done except add Trillions to the National debt? Guess proven success vs. empty promises equals victory for the President. That's what doesn't add up for me. Sad day for America IMO. -
Who gives a rat's behind about Chris Berman's hair? He is not as good as he used to be, but the dude is an icon.

I had tryouts for my boys U16 soccer team. Didn't watch the game. Don't intend to. I have it recorded, but I'll probably just delete it. Not worth my time. Still love my Bills, but don't see the point in watching another poor performance that happened yesterday.

And the reason we lost today is....

Completely agree. 12 carries combined and Fitz throws the ball 38 times. That is a recipe for failure. And yes, Chan is also responsible for the overall softness of this team. -
L.A. Stadium A Go Unanimous Approval !!

The Bills did not make the playoffs in 1994. They were 7-9. I'll take Bills fans any day. Can't blame them if losing gets under their skin. And name me one city that would be enthusiastic if their team lost four straight Super Bowls, often in embarrassing fashion. I think it is perfectly reasonable for fans to be a bit skeptical after such and embarrassing run. -

Don't disagree with your assessment of the potential of Buffalo as a basketball town. Fact is that even when the team was winning, there wasn't enough support. I was not the least bit surprised when the Braves left. Comparing the Bills and Braves though is apples and oranges. The Braves just weren't here long enough to generate the depth of support that the Bills have in 50+ years. -

Well at least you managed to make me laugh. As you well know, the Braves were not well supported and had a limited run in Buffalo. The Bills have been here for over 50 years. I would be shocked if anyone were successful in purchasing them and moving them. The Braves? Not so much. Saw that one coming. And if memory serves, the stadium used to sell out in December when we had a better team that could actually compete in this league. Nobody wants to freeze their ass off to watch their team get embarrassed. December is the best time to watch a game at the Ralph when the Bills actually have a chance to win. It's fun watching those other teams, particularly Miami and West Coast teams try and play in the snow. Not so much fun when the home team can't play either. -

The Buffalo Bills are not moving to L.A.. Just stop it. Yesterday there was a thread about them moving to London. This team is not going anywhere and unless and until you have some actual evidence that someone is planning to move the Bills please stop with this nonsense. I don't mean speculation, I mean actual evidence. I will repeat what I said yesterday. Until someone has some actual proof that a move is imminent, this team is the BUFFALO Bills. Not the London Bills, not the L.A. Bills, the BUFFALO Bills. Still the same team in the same location as it has been since 1960. Nothing to see here, so move along. -
Here we go! Another big city wants an NFL team.

The Buffalo Bills are not moving to London, England people. For crying out loud, please stop with these "the sky is falling" "the Bills are leaving" threads. They are not going anywhere. If anyone has the least shred of actual proof and not speculation about the Bills planning to move somewhere, then please submit it. Until then they are and remain the BUFFALO Bills. -
He's not a Heisman candidate, but I like Tyler Wilson, QB Arkansas. The redshirt senior leads the SEC in passing yards, passing yards per game and touchdowns per game, and is third in pass efficiency this season. He has completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 1,657 yards and 14 touchdowns, playing in only six games after missing one with a concussion. After a slow start for Wilson and the Razorbacks, the senior QB has turned it around in the last few weeks before having a bye last weekend. Wilson is ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and is the third-highest ranked QB in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.

What Pisses Me Off About Bills "Fans"
xsoldier54 replied to Hater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Speculation about the Bills moving seems to me to be just negative thinking. Nobody connected to the team, including Ralph Wilson has ever implied that the team was in jeopardy of moving. Even when the team is sold, local interests will be in the bidding to retain the team in WNY. Have you ever heard the term "self fulfilling prophecy"? If people outside of the organization keep saying this enough, then it becomes accepted as a possibility and therefore is more likely to happen. I for one am not going to worry about this scenario because, number one it is beyond my control and number two, I don't have any evidence that it will ever happen. -
If they can't even beat Tennessee at home, they don't have a prayer against Houston or NE on the road. Miami has looked decent thus far and Indy has been inconsistent at best. Problem is the Bills D just can't seem to stop anyone and the offense makes too many mistakes. Hard to predict any wins at this point.

Buffalo Is Going To Beat Houston
xsoldier54 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't see any evidence that this team is good enough to beat Houston at Houston. -
How much do you make each year? To most of us 615K per year is still a lot of money.

Are Nix & Co. losing on purpose?
xsoldier54 replied to Stan da Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, meant to say Nix is safe but Gailey will be gone. -
Wannstedt is making the calls and that is what is making this defense so epically bad. If they are not in the right coverages, they can not possibly execute. He has got to go, but he won't and we will have to suffer through 9 more games of this ineptitude. After the season, both he and Gailey will be gone, but what a shame we had to waste another season to get there.

Are Nix & Co. losing on purpose?
xsoldier54 replied to Stan da Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's an easy answer. Unfortunately they really are this bad. They are trying their best to win, they just aren't any good at it. Gailey's hard headed sticking with Fitz and Wannstedt will cost him his job. I think Gailey is safe, but Chan will be gone after this season. -
Everyone is frustrated watching this team's ineptitude over the past decade. They always seem to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" and yesterday was a classic example. Having said that, they have been my team since their inception and will continue to be my team. I will always watch, expect the worst and hope for the best. I don't let it ruin my day anymore when they lose games, because it happens so often. I will miss watching the game next week and see everyone in two weeks.

There is enough blame to go around as usual. But Fitz can not be excused. If he doesn't throw that pick at the end, we win the game. Period. As bad as the defense is, the fact remains that if he had hit one of the other open receivers instead of throwing the pick, it was a Buffalo win. The sad part is that judging from Gailey's press conference, there will be no changes in the bye week. No QB change, no defensive changes and we will have to suffer through another 9 unwatchable games before both he and Fitz are gone for good.
