  1. i hate to admit. If you werent on the Dolphins i would begin to hate you less, over time. That applies to maybe 3 of their players ever. I'm still a recovering Thurman-hater. Its deep. That Tua is an accurate futher-muther. I keep watching him thinking "Tyreek Hill. Ha !" Lets see some, "mr. accurate." Today he was dam near perfectly accurate. Super impressive. mother-father -------- just found a solution: I'll root for him to lose every game 49-48.
  2. Now that Russell Wilson has been outted: -Daniel Jones -Lamar Jackson -Dak Prescott -Derek Carr -Justin Herbert -Kirk Cousins On the Bubble: -Trevor Lawrence -Jalen Hurts -deshawn Watson
  3. Josh allen looks laid back. But he's not Trevor Lawrence looks laid back. But he's fighting his nature, succesfully Justin Herbert looks laid back. And he is. Like he thinks pro football is still "just a game" even especially when you're the QB. Every time you see his face, Herbert looks like "this is so cool."
  4. i no longer think we have the worst OL in the league.
  5. i wanna see the Cowboys get another touchdown then go for 2
  6. yeah, but that's not my point As a WR he is qualified to tell me a bit. But as a non-QB, Collinsworth cant make be believe its true. If he wants to tell me about catching a wet ball in a rainstorm, i would be glad to hear it. Because he really was a really good WR.
  7. if tony romo said it, different story from collinsworth, my brain hears "a lot of QBs have told me . . . its tough throwing the ball when the conditins are wet" might have just had bad quarterbacks. (i think i'm just in a bad mood because the game is so bad AND the cowboys are winning. If the Giants were winning 33-0 I'd be chillin)
  8. and even if you didnt, is this the first time you have ever seen the reference? Myself, i have never watched an entire episode of Seinfeld. But i do get the references that have made it into the mainstream. there's like millions.
  9. yeah. but i'm saying "if (IF) we assume they arent stupid, then . . . why?" was it ownership meddling? Was it the need to sell tickets because fans would give Jones a longer leash than they would Mariota or Brisset or Teddy Bridgewater? Or maybe its the most clever tank-job ever (depending on how easy it is to move on from Jones, based on contract structure) maybe i'm playing 4d chess by myself here. But i just have a hard time believing they really thought Jones was actually worth that money. I mean, the Ravens KNOW that Lamar isnt worth that money. But the Ravens accurately realized that they could not do better on the market.
  10. collinsworth was just noting how Daniel Jones needs to just take what's available underneath. the easy throws. This makes me wonder is it Daboll? Does he somehow encourage his QBs to not take short stuff? I dont just mean "is the offense set up for reads to go deep-to-middle-to-short." I mean does he berate them for not taking the deep shots? Does he do something to train his QBs to hate the short stuff?
  11. (here near the 2 minute warning in the first half) Jones just threw a ball, in the middle, that was almost intercepted by 3 people. So where the question used to be "why did they pay Jones?" Because they honestly could not have not known how bad he is, with no future. Now the question seems to be "why did we pay somebody we KNEW was bad?" Because of selling tickets, maybe? I mean, they could have gotten this level of performance from a rookie. Or Marcus mariotta. Or Jacoby Brisset. Or even Baker mayfield. It wasnt supply and demand. And it wasnt that they genuinely thought Jones was far better than those journeymen. So, what was it? There is no future for Jones, imo. He isnt stealing money. The Giants brass are giving away the franchise's money.
  12. I mentioned a couple weeks ago about Dawkins: It seems like every off season he tries to get back to where he was last season. And every year it takes a little longer. My problem is, i never see or hear or feel him trying to be better than last year. "'ill be back to where i was by" the last preseason game, or week 2, or week 6, or 'dont worry about it, I'll be fine." I mean i get he has admitted emotional-eating issues. And "oh he gets paid to stay in shape." But again, when is he ever actually better than he was the previous season. Or trying to. Or talking about it. Its kinda like he is slow-retiring. since he got his big contract.
  13. Kelce made a LOT of money tonight. if he wants it. but sounds like he's taking less, like Mahomes. Chris Jones made a little money tonight, too.
  14. On one play, Collinsworth, looking at the replay, said the Right tackle was lined up like a Slot Receiver.
  15. i think we just figured what @YoloinOhio's day job was.
  16. agree. not saying i like the BBDB defense. Cant stand it. like my chess coach used to say in high school: if your plan involves the other person making a mistake, keep thinking. Because that's not a plan.
  17. this is genius because, after Kelce has a knee injury, lets snap up the first guy the Chiefs would call. seriously.
  18. agree to a point. but BBDB teams still run that philosophy when they are trailing. because i just know you are gonna make costly, juicy mistakes. I think we might disagree on "they give up the ball." BBDB contemplates "i take it from you" from you. From your errant pass, or your poor execution which leads to opportunitties for me to take it. from your exhausted offensive line giving me sacks. from my linebacker doing (insert link to every edmunds thread, here), from my playmakers on defense (yes, there is such a thing) actually making plays. not just getting it back after a punt. I'm just saying the BBDB wants you to run 50 offensive plays instead of 40. But not because it means i gave you 3 instead of 7. But because i love every time you run a play, since that's one more chance for me to capitalize on your mistakes.
  19. the point of every defense is to prevent the other guys from scoring. the people who run a Bend-but-dont-break philosphy on defense are doing so because they think its the best way to prevent the other guys from scoring. its best because, if you give the other teams enough chances to make mistakes, they will make them frequently enough. think of it as the Rope-A-Dope. I am doing it to capitalize when your arms get tired and your guard drops. Not just to win a split decision.
  20. not to derail the idea of the thread (which i like) i would love for Dorsey to ask Diggs to choose 2 plays per week. One for when we are winning and one for when we are losing. And promise him i will call at least one of them every single week. then i would remind him that, as a team leader and Captain, he should sometimes give me plays that dont go to him.
  21. i think you gotta draft them. otherwise they are rentals. hired guns. And even then, you can usually only afford to add one. or none at all. but bottom line: yes. we do not have the number of talented game-changing players that winning teams usually have.
  22. its that adrenaline rush of loggin in and seeing how many replies and quotes and reactions i got since last time. apparently it sucks when its zero. so make it zero. --- (for the record, it doesnt bother me in the slightest. I bleed first amendment. But psychology does fascinate me)
  23. a play to whoever is being guarded by Sauce. And since ego-Sauce will likely 'demand' to be on Diggs, this will be a win. incomplete or not, establish early who is in charge, here. You and your little Sauce Gardner and your Aaron Rodgers dont mean shtt to us. not to be funny but if Sauce is on Gabe, go somewhere else. (1) Sauce is sticky and Gabe doesnt fight overly well for the ball, and (2) make sure Gabe's first target is a completion, to get his head in the game.
  24. rather have Watson -he's better. Russ was horrible last year. Russ is washed. Spent. -he's younger. -He is not likely to retire on the field and relax with guaranteed money. -And i might just take Watson in his prime over Russ in his prime. Russ was limited in the kinds of things he could do. In about 3 years Watson and his agent are gonna say "I'm underpaid. i want more." And he will get it. Russell Wilson is soggy toast. He knew it before he signed. Basically he knew it was his last chance to steal from the NFL. Seattle knew he was washed. He's not getting better, ever. So all the money Denver comitted to is fully sunk. Its a total write-off. And Russ' teammates hate him and always have. Unlike Watson Watson will be in this league for 10-12 more years. Watson is not a 230 million quarterback who got 230 million guaranteed. Watson is a $400 million quarterback who got the first 230 million guaranteed.
  25. agree with each. nicely done. But most likely to underperfom is Elam. Partly because he should be expected to perform like a first rounder in year 3. so far we'll be excited if he looks like a first rounder in year 1-of-3. He seems smart and tries, but if it hasnt happened by now . . .
