Being the most talented and proven back on the team if you consider him 3rd string, yes that would make him the best 3rd string RB in the league. Tashard Choice would be a close 2nd in the running for best 3rd though. LOL.
-
LOL. You guys are suckers. See my response to nucci. How many points again do they hand out for yards from scrimmage and yards/carry?....OH....that's right .....NONE!!!!!!!! TDs score points ..."How's that for quantitative!?!??!!?
-
Sooooooo RUSHING Marshawn Lynch playing 13 games with 120 carries got 2 rushing TDs Marshawn as a starter in 2007 & 2008 averaged 7.5 rushing TDs Fred Jackson playing 16 games with 237 carries(twice as many as Lynch) got ....2 rushing TDs (Same as Lynch) Fred Jackson in 2007 & 2008 averaged 1.5 rushing TDs Who is better there? RECEIVING Marshawn playing 13 games with 28 rec got 0 receiving TDs Marshawn as a starter in 2007 & 2008 averaged 1/2 TDs Fred Jackson as a starter playing 16 games with 46 rec got 2 receiving TDs Fred Jackson in 2007 & 2008 averaged 0 TDs. Who is better there? (Freddie gets the nod on receiving TDs and I think he is a better WR in general.) What have we learned here? As a starter their is no comparison between Lynch and Jackson for rushing TDs. Lynch is the clear winner. As a starter Freddie is slightly the better WR of the two and has the TDs to prove it. Anyone can have an opinion of who is the better RB and too each his own. Some peoples opinions are backed with statistics and fact. Other's, not quite as much. Personally I tend to focus on how many points a player puts on the board. Lynch is clearly better at putting points on the board.

Thank you for the response but answer me this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many points do they hand out for yards/carry? How many points do they hand out for yards from scrimmage? How many points do they hand out for receptions? How many points do they hand out for TDs? Quantitatively speaking, of course PS. I wouldn't ask a question that I didn't already know the answer to!
-
At least you make some sense Matt. BOTH are good. Freddie does some things better like yards per carry and cut backs. Your assessments and everyone else's assessment of who is better is based on feel, personality and qualitative opinion. Everyone ignores the STATS, in particular, TDs. I know it gets tiresome but some people just aren't that smart and they don't get that TDs mean points. Points win games. It's that simple but some don't get it or discount it because they hate the man and ignore his accomplishments as a RB. People are excuse making whiners. That don't want to give credit to Lynch as an asset to the team so they say dumb things like TDs don't matter. IDIOTS!!!!
-
EXACTLY K-gun. No doubt he is NOT the best RB OFF the field but on the field you have to be blind or dumb to not see how effective he is. I LOVE Freddie too but Lynch gets us points. END OF STORY!
-
I'll play along. Can you explain how Jackson outplayed Lynch last year? Something quantitative would be nice.
-
WOW...that is funny. People bash Lynch everyday, all day and I am the one that needs to let it go? HHAHHAHAHAHahahahhaAHaAHAH. It is YOU that needs to let it go. "WE understand how you feel." Obviously stats and TDs are not the criteria you use to judge a good RB. Answer me this. When did the NFL start handing out points for yards/carry and good behavior off the field? I think I missed that important piece of news. Marshawn is on the team. He is a Bill. His success contributes to the teams success which is the most important thing right? Unless of course you are a BS hater with your eyes closed to the fact that he is the best RB on the team that has played an NFL game. So ...YES...PLEASE... "Let it go already!" STOP HATING ON LYNCH
-
Uh no. I will slow down on the TD crusade when retards stop saying that Lynch is the 3rd best RB on this team. Get over the hate for what he has done off the field. It is blinding people to the reality on the field. NO!! The TD thing hasn't been debunked...pretty sure last time I checked....YEP....Lynch still scores more TDs than Freddie whether he is the starter or not. This is not a work horse/goal line RB situation either. Don't fool yourselves. If you can even entertain that thought you are a BS troll trying to get an argument and you apparently didn't watch any of the games last year. Lynch is better than Freddie and better than Spiller who has yet to do anything in an NFL uniform. That being said I think by far Spiller COULD be the best of the 3.

Don't discount Hardy who hasn't had opportunity due to injury and Jauron veteran love but I hear ya. This is why "I" feel so strongly about Easely: 1) Went to school on an academic scholarship and didn't play football his freshmen year 2) Missed football and walked on the team 3) For first 2 years they were a running team and he learned to block for his RB (HUGE) 4) Final year the team became more of a passing offense but performed at a high level with LOTS of room to improve 5) 6'3" 6) Timed as fast as 4.39 Ya....pretty excited.
-
You mean the best on the field right? Worst off of it no doubt but how can you argue against his performance? How many rushing TDs did Fred get last year?
-
Oh how our expectations have sunk. We let a 3 time probowl LT get away and now we are hoping we can polish a turd into a diamond with late round and undrafted talent. *sigh* That doesn't happen every day. Peters was a RARE exception and only because he was "miscast" as a TE in his college career.

Which Bills QB is most popular amongst fans right now?
PDaDdy replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL. I have no problem with Mallet either. At least the guy is big and has a cannon unlike Noodle Arm. -
Yes it matters. Trent throws an ugly duck on deep balls. It's like looking for a needle in a hay stack but look for some of the deep balls he has thrown and most of them wobble like crazy. This could be a contributing factor to why he can't throw deep effectively. Well that and the dead arm and he's still waiting for his set to drop.

New QB possibility? Free agent to be
PDaDdy replied to BoozeCruise's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If people weren't smart enough to get excited about trying to get Jason Campbell, who is a significant upgrade over anything we have, what makes someone think that fans would be behind Brady Quinn. -

The most popular Bills QB right now is the guy we will be drafting in 2011. -
Buffalo didn't beat a single team above a .500 record in 2008. Trent put up some numbers against the worst of that group to start the season. Trent has yet to beat a 3 - 4 defense in the last 2 years. Trent can't/won't throw the ball deep effectively. If you're going to start making excuses lets bring back JP!!! JP's went through even more crap than Trent. At least JP had some athleticism and occasionally you would see a bomb deep. And you wonder why the hate? Come on man!

Accept for the fact that Nix realizes that a 3rd pick isn't fair compensation for his skills. When are the Lynch is a bad boy whiners going to realize that prior to CJ Spiller, Lynch was and is the best most proven back on the team. How many rushing TDs did our "starter" Fred Jackson have last year? I'll save you the trouble looking...two...that's right ...TWO stinkin' rushing TDs all year. Let's not forget it was the train wreck of a coaching staff in Jauron that made Fred the starter. I don't know about you but if we took every one of Jauron's decisions and did the opposite we might have won a super bowl. I never said Lynch was a great person off the field but on the field he was our best offensive weapon. He scored pts. You can rub yourself over jackson's yards per carry but Lynch is the guy that got in the end zone. NO...it wasn't a goal line vs a between the 20's thing either with Lynch and Jackson. Jackson had PLENTY of opportunities to get in the end zone. ON THE FIELD...I liked em both. Off the field I like Freddie a hell of a lot more than Lynch. On the field, Lynch scores TDs. Personally I think Marshawn was more "stupid" and unprepared for wealth and fame than he was a bad person. Not making excuses because the end result is the same but I can separate a measure of off field stupidity and immaturity from on field performance.

They just said everything we ALL already know. Did you note that they also discussed Jason Campbell and why we didn't try to bring him in. This was a heated debate in the forums but as I believed Jason Campbell is much better than anything we have. Some people who are still waiting for Trent's set to drop would rather keep him than a guy who has statistically out performed him and statistically continued to improve over the last few years. At times this team and some of our fans are pretty dumb. Campbell would have been an incredibly cheap upgrade for us.

Bah. I thought this article was about Aaron Schobel. Old news on Lynch. No good offers on the table. Still under contract for a decent price. Forget the drama. He will play. He has no choice and will need to show case his skills.
-
Eh. It would be nice to get something for him. I suspect that he really is ready to retire OR play for another team. I don't think he will play for the Bills. If he does have a change of heart and he decides to play for us he won't know the play book. He won't have taken advantage of the new, nfl worthy, strength and conditioning program and might not be very effective anyway. For what we would likely be paying him he likely won't perform up to that level.

Man. You must not have done to well in school. You answer yes or no questions with statements. What, did you respond with formulas and equations on essay questions? Try reading the directions. LOL. I would indeed be interested in knowing what deal TO asked for and that Schobel's request was the same. Do you have a link as I have never seen any detail regarding TOs deal and that Schobel wanted the same. Not that Schobel is statistically the 2nd best DE ever who is a sure fire hall of famer but hey if someone else is getting preferential treatment selfish people will ask for it too deserving or not. You might have missed my last point about this being something of an exercise and a test of human nature. I actually have no problem with you at all if you support both guys. Heck I would be fine with someone not really liking either but accepting it was their choice. What I don't get is the people who like Schobel and hate Peters. I know there situations aren't exactly the same and their reasons for missing OTAs and things are different but it was worth discussing. I really don't dislike Schobel as much as it seems and I want him back with the team but in shape and knowledgeable of the defense. At the same time I think he boned us a bit by waffling.
-
No...my name is not Kelly. Assuming I understood your question. LOL
-
Really? While everyone else here is giving him "lip service" to his naughty bits I am the lone dissenting voice that thinks that this is BS.....SO....I think yes from a PR stand point Schobels silent strategy is working to PERFECTION! Everyone thinks he is the good guy or at least not the bad guy here. Peters just trying to get fair compensation for his services was called everything under the sun. Schobel has made a position of weakness weaker and it's OK because we needed more LB anyway. Peters makes a position of weakness weaker and he is a prick. Where is the objectivity? Who said Peters was hurt? I didn't BUT I imagine that he was. This is part of the problem the guy is a human being. To vilify him to the point where people made personal attacks about his work ethic and tremendous accomplishment of going from a crappy TE pick to a pro bowl LT and assumed that he felt nothing is just another example of what I am trying to illustrate. Schobel is the family man who is doing the right thing and Peters was a lazy greedy bastard. Last I checked Peters attended more OTAs than the golden boy Schobel. To be 100% honest for me this was just an exercise and test of human nature and an attempt to point out some rather obvious hypocrisy. Honestly I think BOTH guys were at times selfish and at times both guys displayed good talent. For the life of me I can't tell why Peters was seen as a villain and Schoble is the golden boy. At least Peters skipped OTAs because that is what happens in the business of the NFL when you have a contract dispute. It was just business...everyone made it personal. Schobel made a personal decision that he didn't want to go that extra mile, be a team player and show up for OTAs but nobody took it personally. Schobel made demands he didn't deserve and people make excuses for why it was ok for him to do that. Peters made demands that quite honestly he did deserve and people wanted to run him out of town. I call BS.
-
I will agree to disagree on the being on Schobel's side or not. What I still contend you haven't answered the questions that I posed directly. There was some side stepping. There was explanation but no answer. I asked yes or no questions. I saw no yes or no answers. OMG you mean the organization isn't caving in to a player to set his own practice schedule and work out routine. That's never happened before. Again to the questions I have asked what has he done to deserve even the consideration for such special treatement. There have been maybe a handful of football players EVER in the ENTIRE history of the NFL who deserve to make such a bold ultimatum. Schobel ISN'T EVEN CLOSE to being one of them. This is part of why I consider him a selfish prick he actually had the gall, the arrogance to ask for that kind of special treatment. Supposedly the OTA dodger has earned the right? WHAT A JOKE!!!! I will go out on a limb and say that you make no such explanations and excuses for Peters who I did support because we were screwing him out of his paycheck. Contracts mean nothing in the NFL. Some people can't get their heads around what that means "figuratively" others can't.
