  1. Tobor is an inside LB so not a replacement for Schobel. The fact that we needed LBs already and Schobel is pulling this makes his waffling that much more damaging. He has taken a position of potential weakness and made it even worse. If your car is down 2 quarts of oil your saying if we lost another quart that it is ok because we already needed 2 qts anyway? That is just DUMB!!! The engine, or the Bills, could seize up now that we have lost even more to continue the metaphor. All the while you applaud his decision. I see that you didn't really address any of the questions that I posed to you as I continue to answer yours because I am confident of my position and it stands up to scrutiny. Let's try again and see if you have the integrity to answer my questions How exactly did Schobel earn his special treatment? Skipping OTAs for years? Demanding a renegotiated contract in 2006? Having one good year in his career? (Actually 2010 was decent again) Never being a company man or proponent of all things Bills? Never being a team captain? Do you think that Chris Kelsay and Aaron Maybin are solid at our outside LB spots? Would you take them over all of the available FA LBs or someone we could have found in the 2nd or 3rd round? Would you have preferred that we got someone who has actually played the position before whether it were in the draft or free agency? 1) If he was going to retire THIS year....Why didn't he do it before the draft and all the good free agents were gone? 2) If he was going to retire NEXT year...why move his family this year and then waffle about retiring this year? Doesn't make a lot of sense does it?
  2. So your argument is basically because you don't think that Nix and co wanted anyone else that it is ok that he boned us? We obviously didn't want another LT or we would have drafted one or found a free agent so I guess Peters did us no harm either? How exactly did Schobel earn his special treatment? Skipping OTAs for years? Demanding a renegotiated contract in 2006? Having one good year in his career? (Actually 2010 was decent again) Never being a company man or proponent of all things Bills? Never being a team captain? Exactly what did he earn? Normally I would rise to the challenge but I am not up on LB free agents and draft picks because we didn't need one until Schobel retired....or discussed retiring...or was it playing for Houston? I don't have the time so how about I turn the question around on you and ask you a question that is much easier to answer? Do you think that Chris Kelsay and Aaron Maybin are solid at our outside LB spots? Would you take them over all of the available FA LBs or someone we could have found in the 2nd or 3rd round? Would you have preferred that we got someone who has actually played the position before whether it were in the draft or free agency? I think the smart answer is that we can't feel to comfortable with what we have. I would not take them over all of the available FA and rookies in the draft I would have preferred to get someone in the draft or FA.
  3. I hear ya. So why hasn't he already retired this year? What is the hold up? BE WITH YOUR FAMILY! Instead he is waffling. If his commitment to his family is that strong which I respect, he should have been with his family after week 17!!!!! We could have drafted his replacement or found a suitable free agent. Instead he is keeping us guessing when apparently he has already made up his mind. Oh...but he's not ready to retire...he would "consider the Texans". People need to open their eyes. Schobel was tired of Buffalo and has a hope that he can play another year in Texas. The only credit I give him is that he has not come out and made public demands about what he wants. I can respect that he wants to do thing behind closed doors so fans don't get pissed at him. At the same time I think ...be a man and say what you mean and state what you want like Peters did. But, like Peters you risk the fan backlash.
  4. Why would they be yanked in and out of school? You said they lived in Buffalo right? Wouldn't they stay in the same school in Buffalo? Sounds like he yanked them out of school in Buffalo to move them to Texas. Now he is using the desire to be around his family that he just moved out of Buffalo as an excuse to leave Buffalo. 1) If he was going to retire THIS year....Why didn't he do it before the draft and all the good free agents were gone? 2) If he was going to retire NEXT year...why move his family this year and then waffle about retiring this year? Doesn't make a lot of sense does it?
  5. It is amazing how two players can do nearly the same thing and one is a hero and one is a goat. We will just have to disagree. I don't give the golden boy a pass. I look at all of the factors I have mentioned and I see a selfish guy who skips off season activities. You try to justify his actions claiming that Nix and co were going to draft who they were going to draft but that is such a shallow attempt to try to excuse his actions. Jason Peters needed you for a PR guy. I don't see much difference at all between the two guys in many respects but Schobel is the golden boy hero and Peters was a selfish dougnut eating bastard. I just don't get it. At least Peters held out of OTAs because that is what you do during a contract dispute. Schobel was just lazy and didn't want to show up. Peters went to more probowls but people couldn't run him out of town fast enough. Schobel had one good year and he gives everything on the field and people love him? COME ON MAN!!!! It is amazing how PERCEPTIONS can be so incredibly different with somewhat similar situations.
  6. And why did they leave?
  7. A true professional that always skipped voluntary practices, has left the bills hanging this year about his retirement, a guy who was never a team captain and has spoken out about the organization. That guy? It's is amazing to me how this guy gets such a pass. I suppose his family was too good to live in the city of Buffalo. If his family wanted to be around their husband more and he wanted them around he could have moved them to Buffalo.
  8. The Houston issue aside do you think his waffling has hurt this team in terms of opportunity to find or draft a replacement if he leaves or being way behind and out of condition if he doesn't retire?
  9. ROFLOL. The "quality of my posts" backed up with factual supporting data, stats and plausible logic. Please continue to ignore me. If you can't handle the truth it's not worth really discussing anything with you in a forum is it. When you contradict yourself I don't really want to waste my time discussing anything with you. I don't understand your stance on Peters' contract? I really don't. First of all his play did warrant the contract he was asking for. Secondly, didn't you just state "QUOTE (Lurker @ Jun 11 2010, 12:45 PM) * Why? Is it YOUR money? wallbash.gif: Make up your mind buddy. If you don't care about the money don't care about the money for Peters AND Schobel. You can't play it both ways based on your personal emotional feelings about the guys. It's all a business.
  10. Unless that was just a rehash of a comment that I heard months ago I think he has stated that Houston is an option for him. Whether this was an answer to a question or mentioned freely it doesn't really matter does it? He is stringing along the Bills screwing up our off season plans because of his selfishness. 2 Scenarios 1) He retires. The Bills missed out on free agency and the draft to back fill his spot. 2) He plays and is not properly conditioned with our new strength training staff and has no clue about the new defense or chemistry with the players that have showed up and put in the time. Whether he actually retires or not he has already boned us. If he plays for Houston he basically spoke softly and extended a HUGE middle finger to Buffalo and the Bills.
  11. Now money doesn't matter to you? Wonder what you said about Peters contract demands? If money didn't matter we should have kept our probowl LT.
  12. Schobel has apparently made it clear what his demands are to the Bills and is leaving it up to them to concede or not. Note that he has expressed that he would consider playing for the Texans. Doesn't it sound like he is trying to get traded? He is not being extremely vocal in the media about it but this has all the ear marks of a disgruntled player who is holding out in an attempt to get traded. But none of the normally hyper critical Bills fans on this board would dare consider that the golden boy is taking that tact.
  13. Someone started another thread on this article but it claims that Schobel wanted to dictate his schedule to the front office. It appears very likely this is the subtext of what little communication their has been about the subject. Buddy Nix says he wants him here but if he decides to retire...he "wishes him well". Schobel says it's in the Bills hands. What a jerk. Not that anyone will hold it against him because Schobel has always been given a pass for things that we condemn others for. Maybe I'm wrong for all of a sudden thinking that Schobel would be concerned about the team. Oh well, "sacks don't matter anyway" http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/06/11/1078...-a-spot-on.html
  14. Screw Schobel. The guy is a selfish prick who is not a good team mate. Way to screw over the franchise you have been with for your entire career. We have a new staff. A new DC coordinator. Our entire defense is in flux shifting to the 3-4. People are playing new positions and this jack ass says he will "let us know" in September!?!?!??!?! What a douche bag. How about you make up your freakin mind and make a commitment one way or another so the TEAM can plan on you being there, being in shape and being FAMILIAR WITH THE DEFENSE. If you don't want to play you should have said something before the draft so that that could be taken into consideration when we made our picks and looked at free agents. I have no idea why this guy gets a free pass from everyone. Some thought Peters was undeserving up his pro bowl appearances but Schobel was pro bowl material and deserved it? What a joke. Some have complained that Lynch is ruining his career and is selfish and dumb for not attending voluntary work outs. Schobel has been the BIGGEST offender on the team FOR YEARS yet he is not thought of in a negative light. Hrmmm, now that I think of it I might finally get why Schobel gets a pass
  15. I basically agree. He has made a lot of mistakes and he needs to be and has been held accountable for them.
  16. I have no idea when or how many times people have been run over but I do KNOW every single Bills game I have been to you don't have to look to far to find EXTREMELY loud music, a fight or drunken idiots who really are in need of policing more so than a player and employee leaving the stadium. I unfortunately don't see cops telling the heavy metal beer bonging guy next to me in the lot to take it down a notch. I even like metal but come on. Guess they are too busy telling players to keep a lid on it or alleging that a multimillionaire stole $20 from their wife. And yes, without question anyone should be responsible for their own actions regardless of how those actions come to light. The problem is that it causes animosity between those who get preferential treatment and those who don't. We are all equal in the eyes of the law right? WRONG, because the eyes of the law belong to people of different colors and cultures! Follow the logic here and do the math: 1) A majority of most peoples friends and family are of the same race as they are. (Check) 2) People show preferential treatment to friends, family and people like themselves. (Check) 3) Cops are people (Check) 4) Many cops are white. (Check) PLEASE I don't think all or many cops are racist but they are all human. I don't think this phenomena is racist but in many instances the end result can be the same.
  17. I bet Marshawn was the only Bill that plays his music loud. Riiiiiiight. He might however have been the only one to get pulled over for it. Athletes, celebrities, politicians people in positions of power have been getting preferential treatment for YEARS. I'm so glad our law enforcement officers are making sure Lynch's music is not too loud while drunks and idiots are getting in fights and running people over with their vehicles a few yards away. Way to keep the peace and show that Marshawn he is not welcome. Way to focus on what's important! And you wonder why the guy wants out of the city. I can agree with you 100% about getting punks out of the league but lets get them ALL out. Not just the ones that coincidentally have dread locks and gold teeth and don't listen to the same music as you. Let's get all of the clean cut suburban punks who are just smarter about hiding all of the bad things they do and even hire cops to be the muscle for their illegal and morally depraved escapades. Cops don't like Lynch so every minor detail of anything bad he has done is not allowed to slide and is put in the news papers. Big Ben hires cops as muscle and is allowed to operate above the law for years because cops think he's cool. I don't mean to make this a rant about cops but when the law is exercised on the street it is an unfair abuse of power. Your buddy or relative gets a speeding ticket. You go talk to your fellow officer and somehow the ticket disappears. Pull over a guy for speeding who has dreads, is wearing a hoody and playing hip hop and not only does he get a ticket but you search the back seat and the trunk. Pull over a guy that looks like your golfing buddy and they get a warning. Cops have been known to FIGURATIVELY be judge, juror and executioner on the street. You let someone go because you identify with them and they are just a young guy that got into a little bind. You don't identify with them and they are a "thug". How about treat them all equally and let the actual court system and a judge make the determination of innocence or guilt. Ya. The loud music would have annoyed me too but pulling the guy over for it and it's somehow national news now???? COME ON!!! Seriously?
  18. PUT THE CRACK PIPE DOWN!!!!
  19. I guess you never stopped riding his jock in spite of 3 years of sucking. If Chan can polish that turd into a diamond why not get a turd with a big arm, some speed and athleticism(JP Losman) and polish him into an even better diamond? Let's not forget that JP has been through exactly the same problems as Trent has and JP had to do it with 2 different head coaches.
  20. ROFLOL! ME too man. It's been sad. I think the last guy to do it oddly enough was JP. All he could do was throw the deep ball
  21. I looked at the play myself. Make sure that you keep an eye on Edwards feet and shoulders. He pumps, hitches, flinches whatever you want to call it twice before throwing the ball woefully too late. I would actually not beat Edwards up too much on this as he was a rookie. But it is DEFINITELY not Lee Evans fault or anything he could do about it for that matter. Lee was where he was supposed to be when he was supposed to be there. Trent just didn't get him the ball. The S/CB had time to break on the ball and it was intercepted. These are EXACTLY the type of examples I speak to that Evans can get open but Trent doesn't get him the ball.
  22. Who was throwing the ball again? Oh ya...that's right ..Cpt Checkdown. There is an extremely simple concept you don't seem to grasp. EVANS CAN'T THROW HIMSELF THE BALL!!! Here are TOs stats for 2009 WITH TWO FEWER TDS!!! Are you going to tell me a first ballot hall of famer 2nd best WR in the history of the game is not a #1 now? Your a joke! 23. You have clearly pointed out nothing. I guess you would call Larry Fitz a #2 if he played for the Bills because he wouldn't have faired any better. Hell look at TO. With both of those guys Edwards couldn't even keep his job. He helped to get his coach fired midseason(should have happened 2 years ago anyway). And has done absolutely 100% nothing on the field to prove he is anything but a backup. The #2 we should be talking about is EDWARDS!!!
  24. If you watched the games you know the answer is no.
  25. Please list the 20 you think are better. This should be interesting. LOL
