As I said in the first page of this thread. We should be so lucky!!! -

Roscoe Parrish and Bush/Spiller shouldn't even be mentioned in the same paragraph much less in the same sentence like I just did. I am trying to entertain this as a serious question but when you start throwing in Roscoe Parrish you are reaching to unsuccessfully try to make a point. Chris Johnson and Reggie Bush are more the options for what Spiller could become and will be used for. They are all built the same. But Spiller is a better WR like Bush and he has sub 4.3 speed like Chris Johnson. -

We should be so lucky that Spiller could be as effective as Reggi Bush. I think Spiller has much more upside though. Reggie Bush has been banged up by injuries and is nowhere near as fast or shifty as he was when he came out of college in my opinion. That being said he does contribute so much to that team. Contributions that aren't measured like demanding attention from the defense. From a fantasy perspective I used to hate how they would create some sort of motion or fake to Bush, the whole defense would go with him and then the saints went elsewhere with the ball. In addition to being a pretty good runner and receiver he is invaluable as a decoy. I have seen many highlights of Spiller running inside but Lynch can get those REALLY tough yards when the defense is stacked up and we need him to carry the defense for 2 or 3 yards. -
I think Hardy will become something good for us but he has had a lot of injuries to over come. That being said Easley makes too much sense for this team. He is 6'3", has run a 4.39 has an incredible amount of upside because he was in a running offense for a few years. THIS GUY CAN BLOCK! Add that in with the size and speed an eventually he could become a great starter for us.

4.28....... What makes Chris Johnson better than Reggie Bush? -
JP was sadly the best QB we have had since Bledsoe's good year. I found the comment that he has a "LOT TO LEARN" intriguing. How terrible of a job did we do with that kid if at about 30 he has a lot to learn????? I guess our coaching REALLY WAS that bad. Edturds doesn't have anywhere near the physical gifts that Losman has but maybe with better coaching he can not lose us a few games and keep the spot warm for Jake Locker next year

Why won't the Bills give a #2 pick for Gaither?
PDaDdy replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because he is not worth it. -
I have thought this for a while. Freddie is around 30 and Spiller is likely just a better, MUCH faster version.

JAKE LOCKER 2011, Lets start the campaign now
PDaDdy replied to PDaDdy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am no expert as I have said. Levi Brown was a 7th round pick...sooooo...I would hazard a guess if scouts thought Locker was a 2nd round pick this year and that some teams might have drafted him in the 1st, I guess I would say that is why I think he is better. Not to mention he is going back for his senior year to work on all of those things. Could be confabulation but I seem to recall that 2009 was his first year in a pro style offense if anyone can confirm or deny that. He also played in cold weather with a bad offensive line and has RIDICULOUS athleticism (Throw in standard athleticism and good pocket passing are not mutual exclusive disclaimer here) Would you agree? -

It's not impossible for the guy to end up being the #1 QB but I have never heard of the guy. I am NO college football expert either but you would think a guy that can be great would generate enough buzz that a guy like me would have heard of him. -
Josh Reed on ESPN Radio St. Louis yesterday

All 27 of them. He was pretty decent for run after the catch if the QB actually got him the ball before the defense got on him. -

Locker is supposed to have a big arm but some here have said that Mallet's is bigger. Either way it would be great to see a guy with an actual arm who is not afraid to use it play in Buffalo. Enough of these weak armed QBs. It is funny to me that people like to talk about how we don't need any California players that can't take the weather, we need big WR to play in the winter, we need big lineman and defenders not high motor guys. IN SPITE OF THAT FACT THEY WILL DEFEND NOODLE ARM QBS and point to a VERY small handful of QBs who have had success in the NFL without a big arm. -

Who is your guy? Looks like there are a bunch of big arm QBs coming out in 2010. Locker as I understand it is a great passer and his light years ahead in athleticism. (Insert standard disclaimer that athleticism and good passing QB are not mutually exclusive) -

Thanks Buzz kill. Is it too early to really tell? Wow, thanks for that revelation! lol. Obviously we have to wait for the season to actually happen but SENIOR QB Locker went back to polish those things that needs work on. Locker would have been a first round pick even if he was given a 2nd rd grade by scouts. College career goals aside he obviously thinks he can improve on his problem areas, become a better QB and raise his draft stock. We will of course learn more once the college season gets under way and plays itself out. Difference makers with rare skills are the stuff of stars. This team is GREATLY in need of difference making stars. Our teams in the past have often been composed of over priced roll players. -

For the most part I hear ya but just like some value athleticism over pure passing you can't do the opposite. The real question in my mind is by the end of the 2010 season will Locker be a more polished passer? My thought is yes. It is completely possible to teach a good prospect how to be a better passer but you can't teach a statue to be athletic and run a 4.4 40. (I don't know what Locker runs but it is apparently fast) People want to label players too much. Athleticism and pocket passing ARE NOT mutually exclusive. -

To be honest I haven't looked at college stats for many players at all. Where Locker sits I don't know. My assessment is based on the information that I have heard on ESPN, draft web sites and youtube video. If you haven't done so take a look for him on youtube. The kid has an arm and isn't afraid to use it, he has incredible wheels scoring a 50+yd TD in one game and he has done it on a not so great team with a bad offensive line. I believe he may also be a 4 year starter. I know this will at least be his 3rd year starting. Do you have some evidence to the contrary that makes you think that he will NOT be a good NFL prospect? I would like to make an informed decision. -

I don't know that I like the endorsement from McShay, lol, but I still think this kid could be it. -
JAKE LOCKER 2011, Lets start the campaign now
PDaDdy replied to PDaDdy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya. I am also basing my desires on the fact that Locker stayed for his senior year to accomplish exactly these things. He worked in the pro offense in 2010 I believe I have heard and plays under center. This year it should be all about producing at the college level and polishing himself for the NFL. With another year in school he SHOULD be able to address any of the concerns people have about reading defenses and such. I think all 3 of the guys you mentioned coming out next year have stronger arms than this years class. If Locker is every bit the QB that the other 2 are with a big arm, his athleticism makes him a slam dunk!! That being said the class looks so good that the Bills might not waste any draft picks to move up to get Locker. They might figure they can get a guy nearly as good without losing any picks. This is of course predicated on that fact that they feel as I do that Locker is the #1 QB and #1 pick in the 2011 draft. What IS nice is that if as I expect St Louis will get the #1 pick again, THEY DON'T NEED A QB -

He was one of the other guys I was referring to. I am NOT a college football expert but I do pay attention to which guys are going to translate to the nfl. For all I know it looks like Jake Locker is literally the complete package. As far as attributes you couldn't want anything more except perhaps for 4.3 speed. -

Oh I forgot to mention he plays under center and I think works in a pro system. -
I know there will be some other strong arm QBs in the draft for 2011 but Jake Locker looks like THE guy. I don't know how badly we will stink up the joint next year but we should pull a Mike Ditka and give up as much as we have to to get Jake Locker. The kid has it all. The arm, the size, the mobility, played in bad weather, played with a bad offensive line. How much more perfect could a rookie QB candidate be for our Bills? Sell the farm buddy! Get Jake Locker....long time listener first time caller but......GIT 'ER DONE BUDDY!!!!!!
