  1. I liked the Spiller pick. I predicted as much and at this point my thought is we will be drafting the QB of the future in the much stronger 2011 QB class. That all being said....."SHOW ME THE BABY!"
  2. Oh ya......NOW HE JUST HAS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO THROW THE BALL TO HIMSELF!!!!! *sheesh*
  3. They have their opinion. It happens to be wrong but I seriously envision something a bit different for Spiller. First lets just say his work in the return game will likely make him a very useful weapon. In the running and receiving game the guy gets work done. He will be used like Reggie Bush as a I feel Gailey will see that kind of potential just with more speed. As far as running between the tackles these clowns apparently never watched any tape of him. Most of his highlights are him ending up running on the outside. Some of the runs though started on the inside. I saw another highlight clip that is making it's way around where he does a LOT of running up the middle and does a good job doing it. I think the writer of the article is going on his size and doesn't think he is a between the tackles runner.
  4. Ok...so the last sentence is actually about Nelson. I think your assertions about why our offense was supposedly so predictable are WAY off. Sounds like you are trying to boil everything down to Lynch's return and swing passes. Our offense was so predictable partially because of things like not working the middle of the field around the hash marks and not being able to throw the ball deep. Everyone keeps hating on Lynch because of his off field stuff. On the field the guy is a good RB and better than Fred Jackson in the most important category...TDs. Lynch kills Freddie in this department. For as happy as some were with Jackson starting last year he amassed a whopping total of TWO tds. THAT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Lynch had 3 with half the carries and being suspended for the first 3 games. The previous year Lynch as the starter had 7 which left ample room for improvement but his TD production far outweighs Jackson's.
  5. NASTY...love the running up the middle. Reminds me of a guy a few years ago that could run and catch like that just add punt returns and ridiculous speed.
  6. ROFLOL. Awesome.
  7. LOL...I LOVE the pick and had him pegged before the draft but I agree I don't think we should get too excited just yet. He is still a 5th rounder with what appears to be a hell of a lot of room for improvement as he has not played the position as long as you might like.
  8. See drafting WRs that early. If this was a number of any other years with a different RB talent pool I would say the CJ pick was dumb. It's all speculation but CJ is nasty. I mean seriously....look at the tape. He litteraly does EVERYTHING AND is world class ridiculous fast.
  9. Maybe Haynesworth WAS worth the money
  10. Works pretty good for the Saints. Now if we can just find Drew Brees ..... *looks under rock*
  11. Check the signature! The Spiller pick was all good. Without question we had more pressing needs but Spiller is rare. I think it's difficult to pass up on that ridiculous amount of truly rare speed and talent. Spiller wasn't some late round prospect whose only talent was unofficially timed sub 4.3 speed. Spiller is a great RB, WR and return man first round talent that HAPPENS to have sub 4.3 speed. The pick reminded me of when the Vikings suprised everyone and made me throw something at the TV when they drafted Adrian Peterson in front of us. They already had a good 1000yd RB in Chester Taylor but took him anyway. The post draft "everything is possible" buzz is catching up with me and my optimism is starting to get out of hand as it always does this time of year but I think Spiller could potentially change the franchise. If he is used and can perform at a Chris Johnson Adrian Peterson kind of level, look out. Hell if he ends up being a healthier Reggie Bush we just made our franchise significantly better.
  12. I know that we didn't really have a shot at a really good LT in the 1st unless we moved up. I am actually really happy with the CJ Spiller pick. I KNOW we have bigger needs but I have and will always be a big supporter of the FAST RB philosophy. Spiller is ridiculous fast. I mean rare speed amongst rare speed. On TOP of that he has the talent, athleticism and PRODUCTION to go with it in all 3 phases of the game. I know draft grades and ratings are the most speculative right now and it is indeed difficult to judge but our draft goes from a C+ to an A- if we just accepted the gift that fell in our lap which could have been Claussen in the second. I have no bias regarding colleges and who came from where and what kind of strength of schedule they have. Claussen is pro ready today. I have little doubt in my mind that he would have been the starter by years end. Nothing we could have done about Roger Saffold who St Louis smartly grabbed at the top of round 2 to try to help keep Bradford on his feet. The guy is raw as hell but Bruce Campbell was litterally 15 seconds away from being available to us in the 4th. DAMN RAIDERS!
  13. I was a part of many discussions regarding this subject. Isn't ironic that NEITHER position was really addressed? Yes I know we drafted some late round fodder. We still don't have a QB for this team and and although I was really happy with the Ed Wang pick, he is probably not going to fix the O-line problems week 1. Apparently we are trying to catch lightning in a bottle again at the LT position instead of drafting a talented high pick. Unless Chan is a genius on the offensive side of the ball we are potentially looking at yet another year of mediocrity with the QBs currently on our roster.
  14. So....basically Spiller isn't a full back or Marshawn Lynch. Is that what you are saying?
  15. The checkdown gets you nothing if you don't have the constant real threat of the deep ball. The biggest problem I see with this though is if Spiller starts taking Captain Checkdown 5 yd passes to the house with 50 YAC per, jackasses will start saying how good Trent is and his average yards per completion is high when it is really all the RB.
  16. Like many have already said. Blocking? If he is blocking we are using him the wrong way. Let the oline, the TEs or the full back block for this guy. As a side note I see no reason why we won't have multiple 2 or 3 RB sets. RB is by far our biggest asset on offense. Let's use em. Now all we need is Roger Saffold whose forte I believe I read was run blocking. Although I would 110% fine with getting Claussen if he is there and the front office thinks they have some viable solutions to improve the o-line on the edges.
  17. Hands down I wanted Saffold but nobody had any idea that Claussen might actually be available in the second round. Ideally both Claussen and Saffold would make the draft a slam dunk. Personally I still think we need a NT badly.
  18. As tempting as it is to move up in the second. My thought is that we should stay put with #41 overall and give away our 3rd and 4th round picks to get back into the 2nd round. We should get 2 of the following 3(5). Claussen (WOW Bigger fall than Rodgers and Quinn) Bruce Campbell (shouldn't be available) or Roger Saffold Terrance Cody (shouldn't be available) or Cam Thomas (CHECK THE SINGATURE)
  19. Step 1 Complete........ (CHECK THE SIGNATURE)
  20. Tom Brady, Matt Schaub and Aaron Rogers agree.
  21. He has a stronger arm than anyone on our roster and is faster....soooo.....
  22. Tell that to Aaron Rogers.
  23. I think this is absolutely the case. I think that this been one of the likely scenarios all along that the Bills plan is NOT get a QB at #9. I would imagine they are going to sit tight, wait to see if Tebow or McCoy are available in the 2nd. If neither of those guys is there when they would look you go out and get Jason Campbell or Troy Smith Friday night before rounds 4 - 7 on Saturday.
  24. And what a rookie it was. With a new coach and administration it's tough for a 5th round pick to win his job back from a 1st round, 18th overall, pick at QB.
