  1. Did the TEAMS Brady Quinn played on win more games or was Claussen a more PRODUCTIVE QB by the individual NUMBERS?
  2. I don't think they are making fun of the south. They have been saying this on the board before buddy nix. I think they are quoting "The Cable Guy".
  3. He did win the job. Troy Smith was hit with a freak rare form of tonsillitis during preseason and Flacco filled in while troy was out having lost 30 pounds or so reportedly. By the time Smith was healthy and ready to go, Flacco was the rookie sensation and Baltimore kept rolling with it. Also I believe new coach new QB came into play here as well.
  4. He is definitely pulling a Favre. It's a tough line to walk. I was down on Schobel for getting paid and then not performing. I have found that his effectiveness is 100% dependent on being healthy. He is a veteran player that needs to make it to the regular season healthy and rested. Unfortunately he also needs to be with the team and learn the new defense. The biggest issue though is how it effects our draft. We need to know immediately if we need to draft or find a free agent DE.
  5. Open your eyes and quit swinging from Trent's you know what. Campbell has done MORE with EVEN LESS than Trent has. He has a stronger arm, he is more mobile, he is taller HE IS MORE PRODUCTIVE!!!! I hope you can see that. Despite the glib opener I really mean that.
  6. People get caught up in losing a draft pick but they never really stop to think what those draft picks have turned into in the past. Some would rather gamble that they get the 1 out of a 100 player that turns into a great starter instead of getting a SOLID young veteran player that if you provided some talent around him and stability could have a big upside.
  7. AGREED!!!! We will not employ the services of an upgrade at QB who with the right coaching could really turn into something. I say we draft Peyton Manning!!!!!................................ Wait........ What do you mean he was drafted over 10 years ago???????? *sigh*
  8. Right on Leo. I mentioned in an earlier post that TDs and INTs matter but I got lazy on that one. Good catch.
  9. Again...I think there are a few that would agree with me that W's are a team stat. TDs Thrown are a QB stat. See the difference? I love how you intimate that stats are for losers but W's themselves are a stat. HAHHAHAHAHAAH Keep it classy Rico
  10. How many W's does a single player account for? What you CAN measure is how many TDs a QB throws. YES, there is a WR on the other end of the throw but it is their job to catch the ball. If they don't those are TDs lost by the QB. So basically the only stat that matters that is LARGELY attributed to the QB is TDs. Now if you were in the mood to be argumentative. You could say that good WR get open more often that worse ones. Well, in this case your boy Trent had better WRs to work with than Campbell. Yet another testament to him being on a higher level of production than Trent.
  11. Again....the only stat that matters is TDs.
  12. And established backup and loser.....so he's got that going for him....which is nice.
  13. Those guys are WAY better than Lee Evans and sure fire hall of famer Terrell Owens
  14. Somehow he still managed to kill Edwards in the only stats that count. TDs and INTs
  15. If Edwards is average by your standards then Campbell is well above average if not great. He is one of the few QBs in the league that has had a worse situation than Edwards. Campbell has lived through the turmoil and been a complete professional about everything. The Redskins have been through more coaches and offensive schemes than the Bills and had a line that is even worse. Despite this he still put up FAR superior numbers than Edturds and had better numbers than a soon to retire Kurt Warner last year.
  16. Amen. I have been saying this all along. Unfortunately some of our jackass fans think that he is the problem and isn't a #1 wr. WELL....straight from the mouth of the best CB in the league. That should close the door on the issue but some of our fans are not known to be very smart. No wonder this team is devoid of talent when one of our few stars can't get any respect and people want to get rid of him. *sheesh*
  17. I don't know that I really agree with your break down. You could roll up everything between the ears as "football smarts". This includes feeling pressure, reading defenses, audibles etcThe other problem is that some traits mean nothing if you don't have a bare minimum in some other traits like arm strength. If you were the best ever in every category but had a really weak arm you'll never be successful. You could be the fastest, strongest, tallest QB ever but if you are dumb as a rock it doesn't matter. Here is how I rank it and what I want to see in a QB. Some QBs that have an exceptional characteristic like Mobility can succeed even though lacking in other areas. 1) Football Smarts (Need to be a student of the game and know what to do) 2) Arm strength (Once you figure out where the ball needs to go you have to have the arm to get it there. Can't be taught) 3) Accuracy (If you have sufficient arm strength to make the appropriate throw, it has to be on target. Can be learned) 4) Quick Release (Once steps 1 - 3 are taken care of you need to make the decision to get it out before being killed) 5) Leadership (Funny thing. A QB can be a natural leader or a leader by default due to great performance. Coaches are the real leaders) 6) Mobility (GREAT contributing asset but not needed if the QB is high in attributes 1, 2, 3) 7) Height (Doug Flutie, important but not critical)
  18. That is some harsh criticism of Campbell. Now be equally as critical of Trent. If you think Campbell sucks, Trent is absolute **** by comparison!!!
  19. We should consider ourselves lucky if we could get campbell for a fourth rounder. I would prefer to see us move Whitner to Washington for Campbell. Gets rid of a guy that shouldn't be starting on our team and saves us a draft pick.
  20. The only time Trent overthrew a receiver was probably on a screen pass. Noodle arm or not....it is not a strong arm. Look at all of the best QBs in the league both established and up and coming. What do they almost universally have in common? A BIG ARM!! It's no guarantee for success but if you don't have one ......don't bother showing up. I don't even want to consider a QB to lead my Bills unless he has the big arm ticket to the show.
  21. 24th out of 84...hrm....dockery?....that name sounds familiar. We should have picked up a guy like that.
  22. It may not be the most accurate view but my signature used to be a quote from Jim Kelly. Basically it said when the opportunities were there, which there were, you have to make the throw. Our offense wasn't built around the big play but when we had the chance Trent hit a RB or was not able to get the ball where it needed to be.
  23. ANNNNNNNNHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Trent has a noddle arm. I don't know if it is the worst in the league for starters but I do know that it is NOT strong. The top gun QBs have strong arms. This is especially important out doors in Buffalo.
