Lynch arrives in Buffalo- Per PFT
PDaDdy replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many points do they hand out for those stats again? I seem to be forgetting. Last I remember they didn't account for ****! Get a clue buddy! TDs put points on the baord. Lynch scores em. To win which is the ultimate goal you need more TDs on the board than the team you are playing against. -

What is blatantly retarded is the fact that our new starting RB of 16 games scored a GRAND FREAKIN TOTAL OF TWO...COUNT THEM...TWO RUSHING TDs. And you think that Lynch was demoted for performance reasons? NO! He was demoted because of off field BS that is completely his own fault. Unfortunately that doesn't make Freddie the better RB just the squeaky clean one. -

People are dumb. Dumb people hate things without legitimate reason. If anyone can't see that Lynch is a good RB but a troubled/bad person, depending on your perspective, they are idiots. Don't waste your time wondering what makes stupid people hate things. Lynch outscores Jackson in the TD department 2 to 1 but some clowns wanted to make Jackson the starter and get rid of Lynch. If they want a team of all choir boys I can accept that. At least it is a consistent view point. The problem is there wouldn't be enough guys left to play the game. Let's be honest. Lynch was stupid enough to get caught. He should have hired some off duty policemen to be his body guards like Ben Roethlesberger did. LOL. Perhaps we might have never known about any of Lynch's transgressions at all or it could have taken years like Big Ben for it to be viewed by the public eye. -

I agree with you on a technical level but let's make this real world. Do you want the guy that averages 16 more inches per carry or the guy that outscores the other 2 to 1 in TDs? Call me stupid but if I can only chose 1....it's the guy that puts TWICE as many TDs on the board. That being said I liked both of them on the team but Marshawn was the guy and Freddie was the awesome #2. Not the other way around. You can pat yourself on the back for yards for a RB or completion percentage for a QB for that matter. The only things that amounts to anything is TDs on the board. You don't get prizes for yds/carry or completion percentage. -
Since JP left we haven't had a QB with the arm or the balls to make that throw.
-
I am not a QB either but NO I do not think that the O-line has to open holes for a slant pass. What, does Trent throw the ball side armed at chest level? NO! You throw over the top of your offensive line. Trent is like 6'2" or 6'3" for christ sake.
-
That is not completely true. I honestly feel that JP AND Trent were potentially very serviceable mid/high level potential QBs. Trent in my opinion was the Frank Reich to JP's Jim Kelly. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't read anymore into that than JP was the guy with the cannon AND wheels who if coached and developed properly had everything he needed to succeed in the NFL. Trent on the other hand could have been Mr Reliable sitting on the bench ready to come in and help your team manage through an injury to your starter. I have a GREAT GREAT appreciation for what Marv Levy did for this franchise but playing GM wasn't one of them. Remember it was Levy/Jauron that thought that Trent would make a better starting QB than JP. So far they were wrong on 100% of the calls that they made while they were in Buffalo. I just keep wondering will a real coaching staff turn JP Losman into that "out of nowhere" starter that becomes a good QB in this league. If Al Davis wasn't even more senile than Ralph, JP would have been the starting QB for the Raiders instead of letting Jamarcus finish out his waste of a career there. Food for thought.

LOL....riiiight...no bias there...you say "I would love to see him turn his career around,"....BUT you preceed those comments with "Who cares. He's a knucklehead who has shown no ability to control his life off the field."...DUDE...stop hating. Lynch was by far our best RB. Fred Jackson was a better person. I would rather have a chance to win with a guy with a little crust on him than lose with a guy who is squeaky clean. -

Yes...I will rest easier now that a 2 time 1000yd rusher, probowl appearing player who has by far amassed the most TDs of any Bills RB in the last 3 years is back in the fold. Good that you can put things in perspective I have NO idea what people were drinking on game day in 2009 but ****NEWS FLASH****...Fred Jackson had TWO...repeat TWO freaking touchdowns on the ground for an entire year of starting!!! THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Period....end of story....stop hating on Lynch...he is the more productive starting RB NOT a better person. -
We don't need those fancy new fangled plays that they run now a days! 10 yard outs and dump offs behind the line of scrimmage are all you need. The defenses we play NEVER expect that!!
-
I think that a lot have fans have noticed the lack of slant routes the last few years. If a lot of fans noticed obviously every opposing defenses knew it too. This was part of a larger problem that our QBs, especially Edwards, didn't work the middle of the field. Everything was a dump off or an out route. Well, that and the 2 balls that Edwards threw 40yrds in the air all last year. If Edwards is supposedly so accurate, working the middle of the field shouldn't be a problem. The only reason I can think of for why they don't work the middle of the field is because Edwards has a weak arm and can't get those throws in there with some zip.

Holy Crap, this team wasn't doing Squats?!?!?!!?

+1 to everything anyone said. That is ridiculous. I am NOT getting over excited about this year but it seems like this team with the exact same personnel should be better just because we will start to train, prepare and run an offense and defense like a real NFL team. Throw in some contribution from some rookies and a Dolphin like turn around isn't completely out of the question like I thought it was. It is at least a SLIM possibility at this point. -
I hope Gailey is trying to figure out who has the arm to play in this league.
-
Since we have a Coach/coordinator that understands a team can't be successful unless it works the middle of the field.

It wasn't an easy catch for a RB either but Spiller made the reception. It's in the video on the bills website. -

From buffalobills.com OTA's DAy 2 article... "C.J. Spiller did a nice job coming back to the ball on a broken pass play and gave Brohm a target as he rolled away from pressure to the sideline. Spiller made a diving catch near the goal line for the reception." -

Spiller at 5'11" 200lbs is a water bug? Really? What would you call Thurman Thomas by comparison? What would you call Chris Johnson who is exactly the same size? -

If defenses stack the line with 8 or 9 imagine the opportunities we will have in the passing game!!!!!!! WITH Spiller in the backfield he can swing out and we instantly now have an advantage with too many WR/TE and RBs to cover. We don't know for certain but Gailey comes billed as a guy that can make those types of creative strategies and plays work. -

Our RB choices haven't been the problem. Our RBs have been a STRENGTH. Willis McGahee who was actually something of a D-bag is doing just great in Baltimore racking up TDs. He is the same running back perhaps even slower but he is much more productive. Perhaps it is the TEAM around him. The problem isn't us having drafted 3 RBs in the first round in the last 11 years. The problem has been who we HAVEN'T drafted with our other picks. Our problem is also our inability to pay and keep our quality free agents AND attract even more! -

QUOTE (ThrowIt @ May 26 2010, 07:12 PM) * Reggie Bush peaked in college. His problem isn't his size, or skill set, it's his head. He is a selfish, spoiled D-bag. Watch the interviews with Spiller. He comes across well, and has a humble vibe. I think he will be better than Bush. I agree. Reggie Bush has been a good NFL player who also by the way has been getting killed by injuries. I have also heard absolutely word ZERO that he is anything but a quality player. Some uniformed ignorant people think all football players are trouble making d-bags. -

I don't know if he is any better or worse than any other RB coming out of college. It would be silly to say that those things aren't great heads up savvy veteran qualities but he is a RUNNING back!!!! His primary jobs are running the ball, catching the ball and being a special teams ace until he proves to valuable to risk using in that role. You wonder why people think you have an axe to grind? It could be because you are casting doubt and focusing on the minutia and not on what he overwhelmingly brings to the table. Yes those things are important. To make sure you didn't miss that, YES those things are important but the skills you mention are not even in the top 5 things I look for in a RB.
