  1. Spot on. We are TOTALLY on the same page on this subject Bandit.
  2. What you fail to realize is the WR you mention are able to free up the underneath stuff because their QBs can get them the ball deep. Do you see how that works? Defenses pack it in on us because Edwards doesn't throw deep and Jauron's offenses were about as imaginative and aggressive as 1950's football passing. It's funny that you mention underneath and crossing routes. Those are throws Edwards doesn't have the zip on the ball to make. There are 5 other WR and 4 TEs on this team. How many underneath crossing routes did they run? TO one of the best crossing route WR in the game didn't get those routes for us last year. Do you want to blame all of that on Lee Evans too or do you want to open your eyes and see that as an offense we didn't call those plays because Edwards can't throw them? Also take a look at the WR you mentioned. ALL...repeat ALL of them have QBs with big arms that would throw the ball down field. How can you possibly compare guys in those situations to what Evans has had to put up with wasting his time in Buffalo with Trent?
  3. Steve Smith is a great example of a #1 WR who is basically the same size as Evans. I been acutely aware of his performance over the seasons. The question I will ask is, "How did Steve Smith look like Jake Delhomme was struggling? He looked terrible. A shadow of himself. Delhomme at least had an arm and would throw the ball deep. You swap out Steve Smith for Lee Evans on our teams the last 2+ years and you would see exactly the same sort of performance.
  4. Jake Locker Trivia question In Trent's 3 years in the league and 32 starts how many career 300yds games does he have?
  5. The smart ones on this subject should just wink and nod and let the fools go on about how Evans isn't a #1.
  6. Obviously you have a very narrow view of what a #1 WR is. 6'2"+ 215+. Anyone who doesn't fit that mold can't be a #1. I've seen this belief before. Peerless Price wasn't peerless price by his 4th year. I think Lee has had a little more longevity than that and he has done it with ****ty QBs the last 3 years. When Lee Evans starts to lose speed he will be Lee Evans without speed. Peerless Price wasn't half the receiver that Evans is. That is not because Evans is elite but because Price was never that good.
  7. I have never heard anyone of consequence compliment Edwards arm. It is completely obvious. He doesn't throw a good deep ball or deep at all for that matter. Even mediocre armed QBs will go deep with some rainbows with a good spiral on the ball. Edwards' pitiful attempts at deep balls are wobbly under thrown inaccurate ducks! "Blindly chucking the ball downfield"....uh...only to have it land gently in the outstretched hands of Lee Evans for 83 yard TDs. Dude, get a clue. JP put TDs on the board and allowed Lee to be the #1 he is. Unfortunately that was the ONLY thing that JP could do. I would rather take a guy that can do one thing well and put TDs on the board than have Edwards who can't do anything well to put TDs on the board. How well has checking down served Trent's career? If this was any other franchise Trent would have been relegated to the bench or released after last year. True there are many problems on this "TEAM". Unfortunately sometimes people lose sight of the fact that TEAMS are made of INDIVIDUAL teammates. When enough individuals fail it causes the team fail. Sometimes a very important individual team member can fail, and cause the whole team to fail on his own. You might be trying to say that we win and lose as a team. No doubt. Without some of the numerous injuries we had, we would have won more games. I agree 100% if that is what you are trying to say. My point is that the offense is failing and we could have won EVEN MORE GAMES THAN THAT if we had a competent QB. Please skip the shell shocked concussion references. Trent was quoted as saying it had no impact on his play.
  8. I hate to be so rude but you're an idiot. Lee Evans job is to get open. HE DID /DOES THAT!! It's the QB's job to throw him the ball...EDWARDS DIDN'T DO THAT!!!!! It's so simple to see it is amazing that people can actually come down on the wrong side of the issue. Lee Evans is a classy quality player. To assert he "laid down" shows how little you know. Jerk.
  9. Ah....refreshing breath of intelligence. I will add one caveat that Lee Evans in his first 3 years looked GREAT. He had 2 QBs in Bledsoe and Losman that had big arms. Bring in noodle arm Edwards and all of a sudden people are questioning if Lee is a #1 or not. Stupid! Get the guy a QB!!!!!!
  10. Just dumb! If Lee Evans is a #2WR. Trent Edwards is a #3 QB and our line is a 4th string line.
  11. Again I'll bring up my thoughts. This may not be a popular view and it seems like it becomes slightly less likely every other week. I think we keep Lynch and Jackson could be dealt. Lynch and Spiller make a much better RB combo than Jackson and Spiller. It has already been proven that Jackson can't get in the end zone. While everyone was busy hopping onto the Freddie band wagon and calling Lynch thug and convicting him in the court of public opinion they somehow forgot that Jackson only scored 2 rushing TDs in 2009. TWO!!!. That is NOT I repeat NOT starting RB caliber play. I don't care how bad the team is. This wasn't a #1 RB goal line RB situation like Chris Johnson and Lendale White. Both got plenty of touches in the red zone. Spiller is billed as a better faster version of Jackson. Lynch is just...well....Beast Mode. He is the best RB on the roster for getting tough yards and getting into the end zone. Spiller ultimately could and hopefully will become the best RB or OW(Offensive Weapon) on the roster at getting in the endzone!
  12. You think we have been bad the last few year? To be honest we were just under being a .500 team by one game a year. The Chiefs were HORRIBLE. I mean HORRIBLE. I don't hold their crappy performance against Chan. Nobody could polish that turd into a diamond.
  13. I'm with ya. Barring some kind of immediate 180 degree turnaround and some magic ball growing cream we shouldn't waste our time with Trent.
  14. Oh ya....another thing. Ralph wouldn't pay fair market value for the services of a disgruntled probowl LT that he already had. Why would he pay somebody else's disgruntled pro bowl caliber LT the same money? Ralph Wilson already made the decision that he didn't want to invest that kind of money in a LT or the o-line for that matter.
  15. Ya...first round rookie RB and Darren Sproles....NOT going to happen
  16. Uh...there is a new GM and coach if you didn't hear the news. My comment was about the 2010 draft. No comment on the 9 years before that.
  17. Did we get what we wanted? I think the answer to that is yes. Tipping our hand as you say had no negative repercussions. Sometimes in poker the best bluff is telling the truth Who would expect a GM and a coach to actually be telling you what they need? To everyone it seemed like a smoke screen. "The Bills don't need a RB." "They're posturing to try to trade down with someone who wanted Spiller." "They are disguising their obvious need for a LT or a QB" Instead Nix and Gailey got exactly what they wanted. Sounds pretty slick to me.
  18. Are you saying that next year will be a bad year to draft a QB? Are QBs hyped every year? Yes. The draft is all educated guessing or a "crap shoot", as some say, which is an over simplification for those who aren't very savvy. 1983 was a good year for QBs. The year Losman came out was a good year for QBs. Unfortunately, Losman wasn't one of them. Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers and Big Ben however have all turned out great. I'm not saying I'm the greatest at it but if you don't get swept up in the hype and pay attention to some key points you can make very good educated guesses about which QBs will become something. From what I hear, which is of course very early, is that 2011 could indeed be a great year for QBs. Guys that run pro offenses and play in less than ideal weather conditions. Guys with BIG arms. Not just guys that can "make all the throws" or have a "college", not nfl, strong arm. Guys with size. Guys with athleticism. I am not sold on Trent. He has a dead arm and when he attempts to throw deep balls they are ugly ducks half the time that float and wobble. From initial comments and news it does seem, as many guessed, that to some degree or another the coaching staff was as a BIG part of the problem. I don't want Trent to crash and burn or the Bills to tank the season but I think we may indeed be in a position to grab one of the top QBs in 2011. I am hearing good things about Gailey but I don't know if he can polish that turd into a diamond. If Trent or Brohm can be effective we may have a slight luxury of not playing rookie QB for a while. That being said QBs drafted in the top 10 picks of the draft WILL become the starter in their first year at some point. The only exception was Phillip Rivers who couldn't beat out Drew Brees. Go figure.
  19. This is great news but isn't it a little sad that we are starting to get happy over great plays we used to run 10 years ago?
  20. FINALLY! Someone may have actually learned something from these forums and been educated.
  21. Does this mean you finally get it? That TDs which lead to wins are the stat that matters?
  22. I'm sorry I didn't realize that 2 TDs for Jackson vs 9 for Chris Johnson were even in the same ball park or discussion. Are you really trying to compare the Titans #1 RB and goal line RB arrangement to a 1,2 punch arrangement like the Bills? Did you even watch the games? We didn't take the ball out of Freddy's hands when we got in the red zone. He just couldn't get in the damn end zone. NO. I don't think Lendale White is a better RB than Chris Johnson. Before the #1 RB and goal line RB arrangement was setup in Tenessee, Lendale was not as or more productive than Chris Johnson when he had his chance to start. The same cannot be said for Marshawn and Freddy. Marshawn, when given the opportunity to start, has been a better performer than Freddy in the way of TDSs.
  23. HOW CAN YOU BE SO INCREDIBLY WRONG AND MAKE SUCH A RIDICULOUS STATEMENT!?!?!?!?!? Not that anyone other than a small handful of people, like myself, have enough integrity and/or arrogance to answer a direct question but please explain how you conclude that Jackson's 2009 TD total of 2 makes for a better season than Lynch with 8 TDs in 2008? THIS I have got to hear.
  24. Absolutely. Can't argue with the numbers. Freddy has been more productive in a bunch of statistical categories but for some reason he can't get into the end zone.
  25. I agree 100% The truly intelligent fans appreciate both. It is amazing though that people that praise Jackson don't have anything good to say about Lynch even though he runs harder and gets in the end zone. People that praise Lynch as I do compliment and appreciate Jackson as well but the point I have painfully tried to drive home to the idiots is that Lynch scores TD -> TDs score points -> More points than your opponent = WINS! Jackson is a better between the 20's RB unless it is a short yardage play and we need beast mode.
