Name me one starting NFL qb who Trent Edwards...
PDaDdy replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a foolish exercise to try to compare anything other than the weakest and strongest arms in the nfl. That being said, EDWARDS IS THE WORST. HE SUCKS! HE HAS NO BALLS! Look at highlight videos on buffalobills.com. Take a look at the super wobbly lame ducks Edwards chucks up there when he is trying to go longer than 15 yards. You'll see what I am talking about. We know Edwards has a weak arm and a TERRIBLE deep ball. Who cares if anyone is ACTUALLY WORSE!?!??!?!? Time for a change. I say we run the wild cat 24x7. Marshawn and Freddie both have passing TDs. Put them in there with Spiller and let the mayhem commence! LOL -
Dude you are a tool. I would take a guy that was the starter and lost to an actual great young QB than Trent who HAS A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF FAILURE AND WHOSE MOST TALENTED CHALLENGER WAS JP LOSMAN!!!! I guess you like consistency over success. By the way...have you even looked at video of Edwards trying to huck the ball over 15 yards. I have never seen ducks so lame. I am not talking about NFL QB's either. Me and the buds can throw the ball with better grace and touch than the wobbly turds Edwards throws up there. Mind you he is doing this in practice in shorts with no pass rush. It can only get better right? BWhahaWHAWHWHwahahwwhaWhAHWAHwaWHaWWHwHWAAW!!!! Clown!

You do realize that Troy Smith was named the starter right? Yes as stated first round pick QB of the future Flacco was already on the roster. I thought that was pretty clear since I SAID IT!!! IF Flacco was the favorite to win the job how come they named Troy the starter. Doesn't seem to make sense does it? One thing that is obvious is that you don't know how to spell "ridiculous"!!!! I am NOT the spelling police but seriously dude!
-
What do people NOT get about the fact that Troy Smith was the #1 QB in Baltimore before the tonsillitis? 1st round pick "QB of the future" Flacco comes in and doesn't screw things up. It's became his job. This HARDLY the same stituation as Brohm. That being said I like Brohm the best of our QBs. What is wrong with competition at the position. Shouldn't the best man win regardless of who that is? It's thinking like this of not challenging certain players at certain positions that has lead to a dirth of talent at QB, WR, DE, etc.

There is a difference between negative and factual. Let's look at the facts Trent Edwards: Skitish ineffective checkdown passer who can't beat a 3 - 4 defense Ryan Fitzpatrick: Career backup with no solid arm Brian Brohm: 2nd rd pick who in his 2nd year was demoted to 3rd string and moved to the practice squad by the Packers Do you think this gives us hope for the future? If you do, I seriously need some of what you are on!!! Another point is even if we do do "well", whatever that means. We could do even "better" with a real QB!!!!
-
You're kidding right? Trent is a bum. People need to finally get that. As I have pointed out in the past as have people like Darth Ice...all you need do is take a look at footage at buffalobills.com to see the lame ducks that trent chucks up there. This guy is a professionaly F'ing QB. The guy can't throw a spiral over 15 - 20 yards in the air. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!? A spiral pass. And people wonder why he doesn't throw deep. IT'S BECAUSE HE SUCKS AT IT!!!
-
Nope. He got greedy in the real estate market I think. The housing bubble burst and so did he.

Other than ignoring all of the good points, examples and analogies I gave you this is a good idea!! Even if it is Trent "Noodle Arm, No Balls" Edwards at the helm I hope the team does well. We should be able to see how this plays out in the future although I am confident of how it played out in the past.

I think we have gotten to the heart of the problem. No WR constantly beats double coverage. NONE. Another thing. Beating double coverage is not just about out jumping or out muscling DBs. That is only 2 ways of many. If that is you criteria for a #1 WR we disagree on the definition. By that criteria almost every athletic TE in the league is actually a #1 WR. Would you say that since Larry Fitzgerald can't consistently "out run" double coverage that he is not a #1 WR? No of course not. Outrunning double coverage is only one way to beat it. If Lee Evans gets 80 catches and has over 1000 yards with the bums we have at QB I will nominate him into the hall of fame. I really am at a loss for explanation to people that don't understand that a WR can't throw himself the ball. Did Steve Smith put up those numbers in Carolina last year with a crappy QB????? NO he didn't. Is Steve Smith no longer a #1 in your eyes now because his QB sucked? Steve Smith is a great example which is why I always bring him up. He is a great example of how good vs bad QB play from the same QB can make a guy look good or bad. Another thing about the supposed size difference between Steve Smith and Lee Evans. Steve Smith has some big guns on him but Lee Evans is ACTUALLY BIGGER THAN STEVE SMITH. Info from www.nfl.com below: Steve Smith | #89 | WR Carolina Panthers | Official Team Site Height: 5-9 Weight: 185 Age: 31 Lee Evans | #83 | WR Buffalo Bills | Official Team Site Height: 5-10 Weight: 197 Age: 29

QUOTE (PDaDdy @ Jun 25 2010, 11:03 AM) * It's easy. He puts on the move. Makes himself available in a small window or burns his guys deep. Then the QB throws him the ball....OH....ya....right...the QB can't throw him the ball deep or into tight windows. *sigh* wallbash.gif MORONS!!! You must not have done to well in reading comprehension in school. I said "OR". It was a simple answer to a dumb statement someone made regarding an inability for Lee to beat double coverage. I have seen him beat double coverage. I have also seen Trent not throw him the ball!!!!!! Keep swinging from Trents' man parts. He is obviously the answer and the next Jim Kelly. Now if we could only get him some better receivers than Lee Evans and TO!!!! ROFLOL

Isn't it a little unfair to compare Evans to a 10+ year veteran who is a sure fire 1st ballot hall of famer? For all his drama TO is one of the best WR to play the game EVER!!! That being said, how does TO make his living? He's not a blow you off the line run past you kind of guy although he has good speed. He's not a huge across the middle guy although he will go there on occassion. He doesn't make incredible cuts to fake you out of your jock. He is a guy that has made his money out muscling smaller CBs and being a target for QBs on out routes and post patterns. His "style of receiving", if you will, fit very well with Trent's low risk approach and favorite passes he likes to hit. Conversely I will say that Lee Evans "style of receiving" doesn't fit well with Trent. Lee Evans is a fast and dangerous sports car like Steve Smith. If our QB had the balls to make the throws that Jake Delhomme used to Evans' numbers and production would be VERY similar to Steve Smith in my opinion. Look at how Steve Smith struggled when Delhomme struggled. Nobody stopped calling him a #1 WR. Trent Edwards needs an SUV big body that he can make all of his safe, check down, out pattern, no run after the catch short throws too.

That's because he is a selfish prick who is behind the scenes trying to orchestrate a trade or a release. He should have been a man and retired at the end of last season before the draft when the Bills could have planned accordingly. Even if he does come back he won't know the play book. He will have had no time in the new 3 - 4 defense. He won't have taken advantage of a real NFL worthy strength and conditioning program and won't have any chemistry with the team. Despite all this some people are still riding his jock. I can't help but wonder if a bunch of the people that are OK with his selfish behavior and haven't called him out were backing Jason Peters' right to choose his own destiny. Something stinks here.

Well fortunately fantasy football doesn't mean **** in the real world or you would have a point. Fantasy football is based on individual statistical production ONLY. WR fantasy football rankings are also in LARGE part related to the QB throwing the rock. Find me a WR that can throw the ball to himself and I will agree that fantasy football rankings are as relevant as the real NFL rankings. Go back to playing Madden kid!!
-
You're right. He did hold on too long trying to make something out of nothing. Sometimes just throwing the ball into the dirt is the right play.

Also a good point.
