  1. I'd add The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Forget all the crappy Hollywood translations, this is a perfectly crafted but very intricate revenge novel that movies could never do justice.
  2. I read a lot but I hesitated for a while to jump on the Kindle bandwagon thinking I would miss the feel of a book. I broke down and bought one earlier this year and I love it. I still have a lot of real books in my collection to read so I have been switching back and forth but it seems like I read a lot faster on my Kindle. It is hard for me to pick a favorite author because I have enjoyed so many and like music it depends on my mood. Favorite book though has to be The Stand by Stephen King.
  3. I guess the KC fans saying this didn't watch the game last year. Despite the Bills actually having the worst run defense in the league last season, and giving up over 200 yards on the ground that day, the Chiefs still needed one of those cheap "last second before the FG kick time-outs" to avoid losing in OT.
  4. I listened to this yesterday too. Ross Tucker is usually very pro Bills so I think this criticism holds water. It is pretty obvious the Bills have had a lot of disfunction in the running of their team for some time now and it doesn't surprise me that TD would push to keep picks that weren't NFL caliber to save face because the guy had a huge ego. Comments like this help to show how the Bills got themselves into this current terrible mess in the first place. Nix and company really have their work cut out for them. My hope is that the Bills finally have something healthy in place and that the team is making progress digging out of the hole the front office has dug themselves into the last 10 years.
  5. I never could figure this one out.... Even if she was unhappy in her marriage you would think a girl like this would have no problem getting something going on the side that wouldn't lead to losing your career. Hell, even ashleymaddison.com would have been a better choice for her.
  6. Really hard to pick one.... First thing that came to mind was AEnema by Tool. Awesome cover but I'd still take the Sabbath version.
  7. Leave it to bottom line people to ruin something good.... This seems to lend support to your opinion: http://io9.com/5830082/amcs-crazy-ideas-for-cutting-costs-on-the-walking-dead
  8. That could very well be what ends up happening but my thought was that maybe this would eventually drive the crazier tailgating to alternate lots. I am not arguing for this policy, just saying that IF that was the side effect of this then it might not be a bad thing. Though I don't attend all the games anymore since I moved out of town, I do sympathize with the issue of not always having your tailgate be in the same spot. Sure you can meet up before going in but that doesn't help all the walk-overs we always seemed to have every week. The satellite lots should definitely profit a little from this. I'm sure that is what we would have done 10 years ago when I still had seasons.
  9. I hated this idea at first but the more I am hearing it debated the more I am coming around to agreeing with the opinion above. If this policy can somehow lead to the more "hardcore parties" being segregated from the more "family friendly" people then I don't see how that is a terrible thing for either side.
  10. They did talk about the Bills moving possibility but Kelly didn't offer any additional information beyond anything we have ever heard him say before. Basically just that he would do everything he could to help keep them in the area.
  11. An FYI to anyone that might be interested.... Jim Kelly was interviewed on Rich Eisen's Podcast that released today on iTunes. He talked about old Bills and new Bills in an interview around 20 minutes long. Nothing too earth shaking from what Jimbo is usually saying but still enjoyable for a Bills fan I thought. Also, Kelly is the very first guest so you don't have to go far into the hour+ podcast to get to him.
  12. No question on Beadle. Amy K Nelson is really cute too.
  13. A couple guys here at work were saying the exact same thing as this about Jacksonville. The Sunday night schedule looks pretty good. It is almost like Monday and Sunday traded quality of games this year. September 8 New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers September 11 Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets September 18 Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons September 25 Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts October 2 New York Jets @ Baltimore Ravens October 9 Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons October 16 Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears October 23 Indianapolis Colts @ New Orleans Saints October 30 Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles November 6 Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers November 13 New England Patriots @ New York Jets November 20 Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants November 27 Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs December 4 Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots December 11 New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys December 18 Baltimore Ravens @ San Diego Chargers December 25 Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
  14. Week 1: Sep. 12, 7:00 PM, New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins Week 1: Sep. 12, 10:15 PM, Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos Week 2: Sep. 19, 8:30 PM, St. Louis Rams at New York Giants Week 3: Sep. 26, 8:30 PM, Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys Week 4: Oct. 3, 8:30 PM, Indianapolis Colts at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 5: Oct. 10, 8:30 PM, Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions Week 6: Oct. 17, 8:30 PM, Miami Dolphins at New York Jets Week 7: Oct. 24, 8:30 PM, Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars Week 8: Oct. 31, 8:30 PM, San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs Week 9: Nov. 7, 8:30 PM, Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles Week 10: Nov. 14, 8:30 PM, Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers Week 11: Nov. 21, 8:30 PM, Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots Week 12: Nov. 28, 8:30 PM, New York Giants at New Orleans Saints Week 13: Dec. 5, 8:30 PM, San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars Week 14: Dec. 12, 8:30 PM, St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks Week 15: Dec. 19, 8:30 PM, Pittsburgh Steelers at San Francisco 49ers Week 16: Dec. 26, 8:30 PM, Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints Is it just me or does this year's Monday Night Football schedule look very weak. I am not complaining about there not being any Bills. I get that no one but us really wants to see Buffalo play but Jacksonville has two home games? I don't even think many people in Jacksonville are excited about that let alone the nation. With the exception of a couple of the typical big division rival games I am not seeing many good games and definitely not any "Must See" match-ups to get very excited about this year.
  15. I completely agree. It is maddening how they pick up past superstars for nothing and turn them into an even better version of their former glory. No doubt his BS from Washington isn't going to fly anymore, and I know it is a long shot, but I am holding out hope that maybe he shows up fat and out of shape like last season.... but knowing the way things work for the Pats* there is a better chance of Maybin making the probowl next season than Haynesworth not turning it around for them.
  16. All we can do is hope that the Pats* magic that seems to turn these NFL cast-offs and miscreants into pro-bowlers has finally run its course.
  17. I agree with everything you said here but isn't the senseless complaining and idiotic circular logic part of what makes message boards entertaining? )
  18. Right, I think it was against Miami in week 3. I was in Florida for that game and I remember talking to some Dolphin fans the night before who were actually a little worried about playing the Bills the next day. Can't wait for the return of teams and other fans fearing the Bills again, legitimately.
  19. The 2003 home opener 31-0 pounding of the Pats* was the first thing that came to mind. The exact moment that sticks with me is about midway through the 4th quarter when a few rows of Pats* fans in my section got up to start leaving and about a 1000 people serenaded them with the nah, nah, goodbye song as they made the walk of shame out of the stadium. (Little did I know at the time that it would be 7 years and counting before feeling that thrill of victory over the m!@#$s again.)
  20. Just watched the premiere last night. I agree with most here that Skylar is becoming more and more annoying to watch and I feel like it steals time from all the rest of the show. But despite that minor annoyance the show continues to be amazing to me because things rarely go how I expect or how normal scripted TV/movies go. And for the record, I agree with an earlier poster than anyone who is behind episodes that aired shouldn't click on this thread at all but I personally hate being spoiled so for the reckless who do come to the thread I suppose it isn't too difficult to use the spoiler tag.
  21. My heart says 19-0 every single year, stupid brain jumped the gun on my prediction.
  22. I see 6 or maybe 7 wins on that schedule though with a lot of improvement across the team by the end of the season. Seems like the team could be really close to breaking through to a winning season but I don't think they are quite over that hump yet.
  23. Right, and Spiller had a tough time getting consistent playing time because of his poor blocking. If he can straighten that out I would expect some improvement out of him in the rest of his game as he sees a lot more time on the field.
  24. I don't remember that one, but to me the king of over reaction was when people were protesting the second Lord of the Rings film in 2002 because the movie studios were obviously trying to capitalize on the 9/11 tragedy by naming the film The Two Towers regardless if that was the actual name of the second novel. No idea where some of these idiots come from.
