  1. Its pretty simple....turn the TV off or don't buy the tickets...
  2. So bad, he equalled -8 points on my fantasy team
  3. The NFL sunday Ticket game mix is pretty cool...lets you watch all the games on one screen, and you select which one you want to audio to come from...
  4. i agree that they drafted levitre and wood for their athletecism. I believe that's why they dropped walker too. he was sucking wind big time during the preseason due to all the no huddle. It's too bad this team has taken so long to draft lineman as a priority...especially considering the manage the game mentality of the head coach.
  5. Similar to the Dolphin catching them off gaurd last year with the Wildcat
  6. one thing that we may have in our favor.....is they've never seen an Alex Van Pelt schemed/called game. Bellicheck is famous for his dissection of , and over emphasis of the opponents strengths. I do agree that the unknown is on our side. Now we just have to come out and execute.
  7. I know it's a theme to fuss about the coaching, but I was hoping to start a thread that actually illustrates a few things that should be an indictment of the coaching...because I think the team has plenty of Talent. 1. Tackling--maybe it's the soft training camps, maybe it's lack of emphasis at practice, but I notice many games where our guys are throwing arm tackles...while the opponents are jacking our players up with form tackles to the turf. There is no excuse, especially when we've had an extra week to prepare 2. D-Scheme--bend, but don't break. While the opponent is making plays, we are always just close enough to make a tackle after the run or the long pass completion. For some reason our guys are one step behind. I think it's because the scheme doesn't clog the passing lanes, and it's all reactive instead of attacking. We have talented players all around, and seem to be relatively deep. 3. O-scheme--this is self explanatory. We've seen the 100 of posts on the line. There shouldn't be an excuse with all the weapons the Bills have--Evans, Parrish, TO, Lynch, Rhodes, Jackson. There are enough weapons to DICTATE to the defense what you are going to do....not just take what it gives you. 4. Failure to improve players at key positions--QB is the largest thing I've seen. Trent is a good QB. He is in his third yr. For some reason, he just doesn't seem to be progressing like he should...remember his latest frustration where he says he just doing what he's been coached to do. 5. I've read in more than one professional opinion, that says the talent level in the NFL is a lot closer than people think...what's the difference? It's gotta be coaching. The proof is on the pudding, and our pudding hasn't looked to good lately. Let's hope that something clicks come the first game...because our guys don't look to be well coached.
  8. I like what I've seen so far from Ellis and Bryan. McCargo looks to actually chip in this year. Poz will do well if the guys in front of him are creating havoc. I also don't think we've seen the best the D has to offer. They've been pretty bland with their pressures and game planning. I think they have the chance to be top 12 if the offense doesn't screw them.
  9. Wow. This is sad that a project tackle like Bell would actually perform better than the tackle manning the most critical lineman position on the Bills. It really goes to show you how much of a risk this has been....and how silly it was to think that a middle of the road, 368 lb RT could hold his own against some of the quickest and deadliest players opposing defenses have to offer. Many folks are going to be happy because they are looking for the next Jason Peters talent. I honestly don't think this is a sign of how good Bell is, but rather a sign of how bad of a fit alker is for the position. I can only shake my head.
  10. Mario Williams needed a decent tackle to play beside him. They still expected him to command double teams and have an impact for the worst team in the league. That situation is different. Maybin has been, and is expected to produce once this season gets underway.
  11. what an idiot...he'll have a different perspective when he misses that first game check
  12. But, I thought the idea was they drafted him with the expectation of immediate contribution...There were a number of reasons for this: 1. Drafted in #11 spot...and folks going that high are expected to contribute sooner rather than later. How many articles have we read about how the Bills expect immediate help in QB pressures/sacks arena from this pick 2. They were going to him situationally. Most likely in passing situations, to help accentuate his strengths as a rusher. 3. He plays DE and the assignments/learning process is supposed to be less extensive than other positions He is young and inexperienced, but it's perfectly reasonable to have high expectations for him early. While we don't want to condemn him during preseason, he needs to start making contributions within a couple of weeks into the season to justify the pick.
  13. OK....expect the Bills to win. Thats within your power. You aint going to change the fact that they've had a bad decade. The team is what it is right now. These threads really get old becuase it's a bunch of people moaning about Jauron, or the O-line, or RW. All I'm saying is you might enjoy things a little more if you just let the season start before you believe everything is going down the tubes. Have a few beers, enjoy those WNY wings, and enjoy the fact that we'll get to see some regular season football in a coupla weeks.
  14. Wow...these threads are really getting old. It must suck to be miserable all the time. If the Bills have no chance, and aren't worth watching, you can always jump onto the Pats bandwagon. There's plenty of room. I'm all for being realistic, but I'm not going to focus on complaining and being miserable before the season starts. Try being excited at the beginning. Hope should spring eternal during the preseason. You have the regular season to be miserable is you so choose.
  15. - Show him, don't tell him - Gotta teach him to throw with his legs, hips, and arm...an instructional video should help. I remember being told to point my non throwing elbow at the target...forces you to rotate the upper body - Playing QB is just as much about knowing the plays, leading the team in the huddle, and timing more so than being physically talented...so he needs to know how the patterns fit together on the field when the plays are called, and how to time getting the ball to each of the recievers
  16. Too bad the coaching staff probably doesn't recognize the fact that defenses probably give him the checkdowns or short plays for a reason. Teams know that Josh Reed and the Bills cadre of Tight Ends don't scare anybody....and the running backs are running 2-3 dumpoff patterns....I'd give the Bills that too... When TO was with Dallas they found ways to get him the ball...same with Steve Smith in Carolina. You move the player around, you get creative, because play makers have to touch the balls to make plays. The Bills play right into the opposing coaches gameplan when they "take what the defense gives them" instead of takng what they want.
  17. Wow. That article was really an indictment...sad to say that its the same thing average Bills fans have noticed over the course of Jauron's tenure at Buffalo...hopefully, something magical happens this year and the Bills come thru for us. It's been a long time since we've had a season to cheer about.
  18. I'm sure you could....but Ralph still has to pay him. If Jauron get's a pink slip, get ready for another coordinator that the Bills feel is an up and comer...since they cost less... Cowher and all the big names like Shanahan or Holmgren are just pipedreams.
  19. Change out all the QB's that have ever played for Jauron and you still have the same thing....a conservative system. I think it's more Jauron and company than Edwards....Remember, they are coached to not make mistakes...they always have to cut down on mistakes instead of make plays. Sometimes your coach has to tell you to give your playmakeers a chance....instead of "cutting down on your mistakes".
  20. This is a direct result of Jauron's system. This is a trend that comes with his style/philosophy...don't make mistakes, and hopefully good things will happen....meanwhile successful teams are making their own success. Successful teams like the Pats, Steelers, and Colts attack their opponents on all fronts. Good things will happen more often than not with this philosophy.
  21. I'm going to stay on the bandwagon from day one. I think it would take consecutive 10 win seasons for me to become a Jauron believer. I think this team is loaded with weapons...unfortunately, they neglected the O/D lines for too long and Jauron is too conservative for the team to take advantage of their strengths.
  22. It's b/c of the pressure...our line has typically been of the large and plodding variety. It's a mismatch for one of our tackles to block a fast linebacker. Also, the NT's a usually straight up beasts and we all know how much emphasis the Bills have placed on the O-line...but hey we have great depth at DB. Lastly, I think Jauron is just too plain vanilla to run a live 3-4 in practice for the O to practice against. Basically, it's personnel, scheme, and coaching.
  23. I agree on this point...hopefully the front office/coaches have the guts to make the tough decisions here.
