  1. I like him too. The Bills would never draft him though. they want to keep the team small...right now they are considered the second lightest team in the NFL. i think our size has a lot to do with the injuries and the fact the Bills cannot stop the run. They really need to bulk up to compete with teams like the Doplhins, Jets, and Patriots consistently.
  2. I would agree about the offense statement...but totally disagree with teh injuries at LB and safety statement. LBs and safeties will only look as good as the linemend in front of them. If tackles aren't eating up blockers and DE's aren't creating havoc, Ray Lewis in his prime isn't going to stop a good run game.
  3. If Fitzpatric has a breakout game and just blows us all away, would you say we have a QB controversy on our hands? I'm just wondering if Fitzpattric brings a spark, one that has been lacking since last year, DJ might have to make a tough decision regarding his starting QB.
  4. It's possible......but I don't think it is probable. The team's defense is fairly solid...the stats say they are getting gouged on the run, but I see the defense keeping them in games they otherwise wouldn't have a chance at. Before the Cleveland game I would agree...but this team has one of the most anemic offenses I've ever seen...and the special teams isn't as good as it has been in years past. If somehow it just clicks for the Oline, the playcalling, and the QB play, then maybe we have a chance.
  5. This has been a long time coming. I think having the second smallest team in the NFL has a lot to do with it. When we draft 240 DEs (Maybin), and 215 lb LBs, and don't draft stud D linemen for depth, we're bound to get run over. The picks of witner over Ngata a couple of years ago or Maybin over Orakpo are two examples that some to mind. Like someone said above, we do have good DB depth for when running backs that make it the second level.
  6. I love the way BB's fans think we have the next diamond in the rough. Bell was a late round draft pick for a reason. We are so used to seeing bad football from the Bills that most of us don't realize this guy is a third stringer on most any other NFL team. The Bills front office really screwed the pooch with the O-line and Bell helps illustate that. don't get me wrong, he may end up evolving into something good in the long run....but right now, this team needs doesn't need one of the worst o lineman in the NFL starting at the most important o line position.
  7. Unfortunately, it's easy to notice Olineman getting called for false starts, holding, or when they simply get beat for TFLs or sacks...negative plays, especialyl when you have a lot like Bell, help highlight how terrible a player is...if they do well, you don't hear about it...you usually see it in the form of good running games or you QB having time to throw the ball.
  8. why throw to TO? Well, because he's a playmaker. He's always had the dropsies issue, but look at his production the last coupla years. He's averaged more TDs in his time in Dallas than all of the Bills receivers combined. You gotta feed him the ball. If you don't feed him the ball, like you're suggesting, it would be like saying don't give the ball to L. Tomlinson becuase every 4th play he averages 0 yds or negative yardage....while the other 3 plays he's busting it for big plays.
  9. I'm pleasantly surprised with Jauron's ability to succeed in the face of adversity.
  10. The fact is Jauron is a symptom and Ralph Wilson and his OBD buddies are the source of the problem. This organization has problems with it's plan (or lack of) to succeed. I'm not defending Jauron, becuase I think he's a mediocre coach at best....BUT, what coach would win in a similar coaching situation. This is the same team that decided to start 3 O-linemen with 0 NFL starts....and the other two are average at best...same team that released it's offensive coordinator 10 days before the season... Think about it. The way this team is mismanaged is a trend, extending beyond Jauron's tenure. you see similar questionable decisions in years past. The FO office does just enough to generate buzz and get everyone lined up for season tickets....and guess what, 2009-2010 was a success for them. It will be back to the drawing board next year for the next big thing.
  11. I've been watching the Panthers the past coupla weeks because my wife's a fan...Panthers are a good running team, but they are vulnerable. Delhomme still has problems with turnovers, and the defense is nothing to write home about. This team is not the same as last year's Divisional champion. The bills definitely have a chance in this game.
  12. why are we still talking about Peters? He's gone....
  13. I guess you didn't read my post all the way thru...I didn't say they magically changed the course of the franchise...I simply said it was nice to have some good things to talk about, including a division win, and some fans can be happy until for at least a week. You can feel free to remain miserable though...
  14. It never ceases to amaze me the ideas some people have on this board. i like Johnson a lot, but if he can't supplant Josh Reed for the slot reciever position, then there's no way he can play opposite lee right now. i think this post is along the same lines as posts that say London Fletcher is not an attacking LB or Jason Peters is a bust. it has no merit, and people are blinded by the fact that these really good players are on a bad team. Despite being past his prime, TO is a dangerous reciever and demands attention those other guys will not get. just look at his production the last 3 years...we need to continue and try to get him the ball.
  15. How many catchable balls did he just drop...one? This post is retarded...since when do you call the second most prolific scoring WR ever a bust? They need to keep feeding him the ball because good things will happen and it will open things up for others.
  16. Folks, There are many sides and perspectives to this game, but I wanted to point out a few positives. 1. The O-line didn't commit penalties at a break neck pace this game. 2. Jairus Byrd looked like the ball hawk we needed in the secondary. I admit I was down on this pick because of our other needs. 3. I didn't notice anything bad with Jamon Meredeth...usually if you notice a lineman, it's because he's getting beat...so his inconspicuousness (sp?) is a good thing. 4. They are TRYING to get the ball to TO and Lee more....still not as much as I would like, but its a start. 5. There weren't any big implosions for the Bills. I am always waiting for that big mistake in crunchtime...it didn't come this game. 6. No big time management mistakes that I noticed...for that matter, the only knock I have on Jauron (this game) was the the conservative playcalling to get within makable fieldgoal range... 7. I liked Fitz catching the Jets swapping out defensive players and running a play. 8. I liked Fitz at least giving his guys a chance to make plays: the Shawn Nelson throw, a coupla of throws to TO, and the the rollouts where he dumps it quick and with touch. 9. The defense has held the past two quartrbacks to single digit QB ratings...that has to screw up the opposing teams' confidence. 10. The team bounced back...despite being down and having the injuries pile up, this team scraped out just enough to win. This is a whole lot better than scraping out just enough to lose. 11. This was not only a win, it was a divisional win on an opponents homefield. I'm not saying this win means the Bills are going to the Superbowl, but at least it will feel good for a week.
  17. that play may draw a fine...they look like they tried to rip his head off as his knees were pinned to the ground...if that's not a dangerouse move on a defenseless QB, I don't know what is.
  18. I was just glad to not see them go backwards every drive from false starts and holding calls...less this time means they made some progress.
  19. One, the Vikes don't throw deep much...it's a timing offense and I think Trent wuold fit well. They have a good O-line, a solid running game, a decent coach...the pieces are in place. If the Eagles can make Kevin Kolb productive, they could surely make TE productive. You put McNabb behind our line and in our system, and he would struggle too. I definitely believe there's a lot of talent going to waste on this team and TE is a part of that.
  20. Adam Shefter was made the suggestion on NFL Network. Other than that, I don't know if there's been anything substantive.
