  1. It's definitely in the coaching. The team think in terms of not making mistakes....instead of making plays. It's conservatism all the way. The players need to understand that in order to win games they need to take chances, and give people opportunities to make plays. 10 for 10 passing may look good on paper, but it doesn't mean jack sh!* if you don't score. On D they play 10 yards off b/c they don't want to make mistakes. Attacking O's and attacking D's are what make the great teams great. This team still isn't predicated on attacking.
  2. At the very least, I think Denney should be canned in favor of Bryan, and Ellis. They are bringing it this year...If I were coach for one Sunday. I'd rotate Schobel, Kelsay, Bryan, Ellis, and Maybin thru constantly...thus bringing the heat.
  3. Sad....what's $1M after taxes? Hopefully he invests it or can go back and finish school if this football thing doesn't work out.
  4. Wow! Three pages so far for this nonsense thread. Relax people. Enjoy the season instead of daydreaming over coaches we'll never get. For me, I'll join the season if/when we finish another losing season.
  5. I think it will be unfortunate if Stupar is placed on the practice squad...I wouldn't be surprised if placed on the PS, that some team picks him up for their roster. In my opinion, Stupar is the Fred Jackson of this yr. He's lighting it up against the 2's and 3's. The incumbents have no rights to be entrenched. Let competition play out and may the best man make the roster.
  6. one more positive....The message was sent that this team has a lot of improving to do. They cannot ever believe that they're good, and can rest on their laurels. They not only have to omprove, but rather improve faster than their opponents.
  7. I think Chris Ellis and Copeland really look like they're going to help the passrush get better this yr. I would like to think that one of them could unseat Denny at 2d string DE. Also, Nic Harris looked solid. I thought Steve Johnson looked real good too. I still don't understand the Bill's fascination with Reed. Parrish and Johnson would do better in his spot.
  8. Good thing is we no longer have a rookie offensive coordinator. I think this will be one of the biggest differences for the Bills this year. He should have learned and improved as much as a rookie QB going to his second year. Tonight will just illustrate how much that improvement is.
  9. Why even drop down to normal weight...250 isn't exactly heavy for linebacker. This is agood weight for a linebacker. Urlacher weighs 258.
  10. My god CBiscuit....you gotta warn people before you post stuff like that..
  11. I equate the luxury pick to that of Roscoe Parrish....the bills need to upgrade with a solid player at a prominent position, and they go specialist. In a couple of years, we're still going to be waiting for an all 'round DE.
  12. Pettigrew, Orakpo, or one of the LTs on the board are the guys I wanted them to take. I definitely didn't want another undersized defensive player... while other teams are taking 270-290 lb DE's, we're taking 238 lb'ers who quickly bulk up to 249....who's to say the guy didn't have a temp creatine, or some sort of GNC supplement bulk put on. Also, he's barely 249lbs, which is still small for a DE.
  13. jw, It was good to finally hear something...even it happens to be bad news. Thanks for the update
  14. I also think it's ironic that the three drafted highest holdouts have issues associateed with each: 1. Andre Smith--weight and possible discipline/attitude issues; suspended for bowl game for undisclosed issues; stock dropped drastically for walking out of the combine 2. Michael Crabtree--didn't run the 40 due to injured foot; questions about being a system player; and more injuries 3. Aaron Maybin--concerns whether 1 year wonder; tweener, not sure if can maintain a DE's weight when he's at that threshold now Makes you wonder if they wanna cash out early just in case they don't they don't end up performing and warranting a follow on top tier contract.
  15. A.M needs to quit talking and get into work ASAP. Enough is enough. Say accepts an offer he feels is is a little low, and then out-performs that offer, then there's always an opportunity to improve the contract. It's ridiculous that they're hanging on to the Crabtree situation hoping he strikes gold. Meanwhile his value is dropping and Chris ellis is kicking @ss with all the extra reps he's getting.
  16. The ranking is about as useful as the weekly SI power rankings. It's nice to see where current perception lies, but things will change week to week. Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with the 30 Jul ranking...5 players at 5 new positions, 2 rookies, and unheralded guys at both tackle positions. We'll have to see this thing play out, but I've got hope...it's preseasin, so we should all have hope.
  17. There are tolls everywhere in the bay area too....and it's not easy in easy out like the Buffalo interstate system.
  18. Up: Schonert, Fitzpatrick, Parrish Down: Simpson, Wendling, Youboty...mostly b/c the depth of the defensive backfield
  19. quick question for anyone that knows: did Jason Peters actually play in either of his pro bowls...I seem to remember him being injured for both.
  20. He's not too small to play slot reciever. If you're looking at stats from last night, compare that to Reed's one catch for 4 yards.
  21. Considering Maybin is going to be a specialty player, on defense, is it really that big og a deal that he missed all this time? The announcers last night didn't think so. Maybe it's worth just being patient and waiting for him to arrive....assuming he's there sometime before the season. I'm excited and anxious to see him there just lik everyone else, but I'm trying my best to keep the situation in perspective.
  22. i totall agree. Players down on the depth chart should always have to competetivenss to move up the chart or to push others for a spot....this will make everyone better...pushing guys in front of you doesn't mean you can't mentor/support as well.
  23. He converted some last year....but guess what, the Bills have plenty of room to get better on 3rd down conversion percentage and conistency. So I would argue that is not a strength of his or the Bills.
