  1. Like I said, I definitely think Atlanta could win, but I just don't trust them away from their dome and outside in the Northeast. I believe the Giants' pass rush will make Matt Ryan's life miserable and Cruz & Nicks will have a field day against that secondary. JMO
  2. They said on Sirius NFL Radio tonight that Brady Quinn had reportedly taken some snaps with the first team offense this week. The games: New Orleans over Detroit Houston over Cincy (although I don't have a strong feeling on this and wouldn't be at all surprised if Cincy won) New Jersey over Atlanta Pittsburgh over Denver The Saints & Steelers are locks, IMO. Bengals & Falcons could easily emerge victorious in two toss-up games.
  3. For me, the pleasure of a Bills win after two months of frustration...a Christmas miracle. For my 11 year old son, a home Fred Jackson jersey (his favorite player). For my 9 year old son, a home Stevie Johnson jersey (his favorite player). For both of them, Bills earmuffs.
  4. I don't know, Bob. I wish I did. I guess I'm just a masochist. Or a dumbass. Or both. My tag is "Hopeful Bills romantic at heart...". I guess that's why.
  5. "Oh, no! We suck again!" - 'The Waterboy'
  6. These statements sum it up exactly. I texted my brother during the game today and said, "I wish I didn't like (Buffalo) sports but it's like a horrible addiction that I can't kick and will one day kill me." The Bills and Sabres are slowly sucking the life out of me but I can't quit them. They are ingrained in my very being.
  7. Actually, no. The Bills had two 1st Rounders in 1983 and chose Notre Dame TE (and NFL bust) Tony Hunter with the first and then took Kelly later in the round...so, they couldn't even get that right.
  8. They've officially been eliminated, Senator. You need to change your rally cry to: 8 and 8 baby!!!!!
  9. Can you start Wells in the 1st half and C.J. in the 2nd half? You'd have yourself a 'Bean Spiller'...
  10. Water, meet blanket.
  11. Misleading? Yes. The title reads as if Smith might be coming back to Buffalo. Then the OP proceeds to say that it's been speculated that Smith might be fired and the OP would love it if AJ came back to the Bills. Nothing being speculated/reported that Smith could/would be coming back to Buffalo. Just that the OP would like it. Totally misleading. I won't argue your ridiculous point though.
  12. Exactly. Or if they're too cheap to pony up long-term, they can trade him. I certainly don't advocate this...I'd prefer they sign him to a long-term deal. But a trade is certainly better than letting him walk for nothing (or for a low compensatory pick). That said...lock him up, Buffalo.
  13. Interesting that nobody else found the title of this thread to be totally misleading.
  14. Thoughts and prayers to the Wilson family. RIP, AW.
  15. Is this a veiled attempt to say that he's afraid to stick his nose in there?
  16. A dumb stump > 'Retard Rodeo' 'Retard Rodeo' > Merrill Hoge
  17. I bought into this stupid "white out" idea and wore my only white Bills t-shirt. I NEVER wear it for games. Only for sleeping. Stupid white out.
  18. Exactly. Thanks for the memories, T.O., but don't ever come near this team again. No thanks. Not now. Not ever again.
  19. Thanks. Love the 'Ultraman' avatar! Watched 'Ultraman' as a wee tyke in Tokyo when my dad was stationed there in the Air Force.
  20. Hopefully, the Flyers complete their 'Misery Trifecta' this season.
  21. Thanks for sharing this, Mickey. It brought back memories of my beloved mom who passed away way too soon in January of 2008. She loved her Bills through thick and thin and I'll always cherish those Bills moments with her and her perpetual optimism where they were concerned. Absolutely nothing is wrong with that. In fact, it's fine. But did you see some of the ridiculously over-the-top, negative posts after the game?? For the life of me, I don't understand how people can't enjoy a win and can't enjoy the fact that this team is 4-1 and in 1st Place. If people are so consumed with some of the defensive shortcomings of this team to the point that they can't even enjoy the end results, what's the point in watching or cheering? Why subject yourself to such "torture"?? There's not a dominant defense in the league after five weeks of play and many, including contenders like the Patriots*, are horrible. And please don't bring up Green Bay. They have their flaws, too, including one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. After a decade plus of frustration and ineptitude, I just don't get how some Bills fans can't live in the now and simply enjoy the moment. Are the Bills perfect? Absolutely not. Are they a good team with room for improvement? Absolutely. This team will be in all of it's games and is exciting and fun as hell to watch. And really, isn't that all you can expect from an up-and-coming team at this point in its development? Lighten up and enjoy the ride, Bills fans. GO BILLS!!!
  22. This is a little cryptic, John. Can you put it into context? Was it a reference to the overblown lovefest for the Iggles?
  23. The veteran FAs available are less than impressive. Promote Aiken.
  24. He joined the board last month and has a whopping 32 posts. He obviously doesn't have the feel of or know the atmosphere of this board. Can't wait until crayonz baits him into a post.
  25. The officials have been horrible this year...and not just in the Bills games. I've noticed blatant holds that are going uncalled in a lot of games. And while I understand that you can probably make an argument for holding on almost any play, when a player is in a choke hold (like Merriman was at the end of the Oakland game) and the ref is standing there it has to be flagged. It's ridiculous and beyond aggravating that these calls aren't being made...league wide.
