  1. Exactly. I'd take him in a nanosecond, if he were there and, hopefully, the Bills would, too. That being said, he'll be gone before the Bills get a shot at him.
  2. He's not going to Dallas to be their third TE. They're high on UVA's John Phillips who was pushing Martellus Bennett for the second tight end position. They certainly wouldn't pay him more to be their third TE than the Bills or another team would to be a starter. Chandler will go where the money is and where he has a chance to start. Plain and simple.
  3. I am and I do.
  4. It would be just like this organization to go out and sign the wrong Peyton...
  5. This is not worst case, DrD. There is a risk for SJ if he is tagged. Suppose he and the Bills can't come to a deal before the season and he plays under the one year tender and shreds his knee. What then? Maybe he comes back a half step slower from his already not elite speed. Will he cash in big as a possession receiver at that point? Doubtful. There is risk for both sides. If the Bills let him test the free agent waters, they may lose him. If Stevie plays under the tender, he may suffer an injury which keeps him from ever scoring his monster payday. I don't believe any player really likes playing under the tag for one year as it's Russian roulette. I agree with you in the end though that the Bills sign him long-term.
  6. I love this kid's potential. Some team will end up with a great player...I just hope that it's not a divisional rival.
  7. Exactly. Astro, doesn't the fact that he only did 19 reps at the combine concern you? It does me. Is this kid going to have a lazy work ethic and become the next Mike Williams at the pro level?
  8. You got that from this? Seriously??: "TSH: You said you were a free agent. Would you like to see yourself back in Buffalo? SC: That’d be great. I’d love to be back in Buffalo. But this is where the game turns into a business. I’ve been on the bad end of the business four times—I’ve been cut four times—and you want to make the most out of the opportunities, and you don’t get that many opportunities. You’ve got to maximize your value in the league." It ain't personal boys, it's business. He's bounced around the league and finally had the opportunity to start and made the most of it. Good for him and good for the Bills. But does he owe the Bills any loyalty? No. Do they owe him? No. It's a business, plain and simple. He's not a superstar and this may be his one and only shot at grabbing the brass ring. If somebody blows him out of the water with an offer and the Bills don't want to match or come close, then he should take it and run. If his offer from the Bills is not significantly different from that of any other team(s), I believe he should remain with the Bills. There is something to be said for continuity and playing in an offense that fits your abilities. Let's see how this plays out. If he hits the market, it doesn't mean that he won't sign with the Bills. He's said he'd "love to be back in Buffalo". That's all you can ask from any Bills free agent. Now the business end of things determines whether or not that happens.
  9. Agreed that Bleacher Report is not a credible source and shouldn't be cited but, in fairness to the OP, there's this: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7613699/philadelphia-eagles-open-offers-desean-jackson-sources-say All of the above. The Bills need to get Stevie back in the fold AND sign (or draft) a big, speedy, true #1 to play opposite him. DeSean 'Undersized, Bad Attitude' Jackson is not that guy. The Bills don't need a frail, 'me first' locker room cancer. What good is a burner if his QB can't hit him on a 9 route, anyway? No thanks. Let somebody else overpay for his services.
  10. Agreed. He's a stiff and I hope the Bills don't even entertain the thought of signing him...but it would be typical of this organization to think they could replace SJ with the likes of Robert Meachem. Ugh.
  11. It would be nice if (for once), on the rare occasions they decide to spend quality money, they'd strike gold on the right player(s) instead of dropping major ducats on the Langston Walkers & Derrick Dockerys of the world. Their inability to determine the proper people on who to spend money is more disturbing to me than the perception/fact that they don't always seem willing to spend.
  12. Isn't it usually?
  13. ^ ^ ^ Ditto. Thanks for the memories, Larry. I, for one, will miss your work. Enjoy your well earned retirement.
  14. Sirius NFL Radio just reported this a few minutes ago, as well, in their 'Two Minute Drill' update.
  15. Ha! That's just wrong...at least BB's are natural.
  16. I hope this is true. It would be a nice, positive start to the off-season. Chandler & Urbik next, please.
  17. "Brown is speculating here and not reporting." That's the takeaway here. Nix's connection to SD is what seems to make this speculation plausible. But at the end of the day, it's just that...speculation. Not much different than what happens on this board every day, except maybe not as wildly ridiculous.
  18. Contact Russ Brandon and the front office. Tell them to "show you the baby" and you'll commit...and that you're not the only Bills fan who feels that way. Make your voice heard, whether you think it will help or not.
  19. I believe that anyone who thinks Peyton will go to the Jest is delusional. Eli has finally come into his own and is being talked about as an elite QB. He now owns that town. The Mannings appear to be a very tight-knit family. The last thing big brother (and dad) would want would be for the spotlight to be deflected from little brother. Peyton has achieved legendary status across the league. Right or wrong, Eli would always be compared to Peyton in NYC, more so than in another market. If PM was across town, every mistake by EM would be greatly magnified and scrutinized by the NYC media and fans. I don't believe the family wants that kind of negativity and pressure on Eli. He's carved out his own niche...NYC is his playground. Peyton has several other playgrounds he can potentially own. NYC won't be one of them. Add the fact that NYC media outlets like SNY & YES keep saying that there is more internal strife within the Jest organization than was originally reported and Peyton to NYC doesn't make sense.
  20. Unless the Bills are in it (OK, stop laughing), I don't watch any of this crappy hype from the time the Conference Championship games are over until kickoff of the Super Bowl. If it were the Bills, I'd eat up every last minute of crappy hype.
  21. Other than the the Bills winning, of course, I would have preferred these outcomes: Super Bowl VII: Washington over Miami Super Bowl VIII: Minnesota over Miami Super Bowl IX: Minnesota over Pittsburgh Super Bowl X: Dallas over Pittsburgh Super Bowl XI: Minnesota over Oakland Super Bowl XIII:Dallas over Pittsburgh Super Bowl XIV: LA Rams over Pittsburgh Super Bowl XXII: Denver over Washington Super Bowl XXXII: Green Bay over Denver Super Bowl XXXIII: Atlanta over Denver Super Bowl XXXVI: St. Louis over New England* Super Bowl XXXVIII: Carolina over New England* Super Bowl XXXIX: Philadelphia over New England* Super Bowl XL: Seattle over Pittsburgh Super Bowl XLIII: Arizona over Pittsburgh Boiled down...all Super Bowls won by Miami, New England*, & Pittsburgh are the ones I'd want reversed more than any others.
  22. No mention of Scott Chandler, Bob? I'm guessing that was just an oversight on your part? I think (and hope) that he's fairly high on their list. ^^^^^ This. I think this speculation is much ado about nothing. Freddie has said he trusts Buddy and Buddy is on record as saying they'd take care of FJ and it WOULD get done. I don't think he'd talk in absolutes like that and then end up with a PR nightmare and egg on his face by reneging. He's a straight shooter and I believe him on this. FJ WILL be rewarded...by the Bills.
  23. /\ /\ /\ This. The San Diego Clippers. Then LA. There's nothing remotely Buffalo about that team. They even dropped the 'Braves' moniker. Even LA's other team kept 'Lakers' when they left Minneapolis and that makes even less sense than Clippers. The NBA sucks. Give me college hoops any day.
  24. I hope it's true but I'll believe it when I see it. Wake me up when September (and Ralph) ends...
