What's your gut feeling?
BillsCelticsAngelsBama replied to Billsfed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really only from my son who knows (of him)...... doesn't know him personally, but does know a scout on staff. Says he's a bend don't break, take it to the 4th Qtr. , kick the winning field goal type personality. Like I said, hope I'm wrong. If we're good I don't care if he's a Chuck Knox (for those old enough to remember) clone. But bad and boring would ehh, not fun. -

Litening to McDermott, he seems like the guy who will punt on 4th down ... a lot, and have an urge to punt on 3rd if he got the chance, just to play it safe. Hope I'm wrong. -
Simulated Mock Draft
BillsCelticsAngelsBama replied to gr8billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oooh mean but I like it !! Now that would be a very satisfying draft !!! And this one would be too good to be true Love you Mark, I think you still owe me and my son a dinner from the 2005 draft @ ESPN Sports bar, but Whitfield is fast but can't catch and Sprinkle doesn't appear to have the mental capacity to make it. But picking Sprinkle that late may have been your only good option. But, NO to Whitfield. Still wear the hard hat to the drafts ?? Go Bills -
Has any team contacted EJ Manuel about a tryout?

Beyond obvious. -
Agree and Agree, John. But I REALLY think decent WR's can be had later however.....you go with your board. There seems to be about 7 very good defenders (Allen, Garrett, Thomas, Foster, Lattimore, Hooker, & Adams). Anyone of those guys would be a great addition so I hope some RB's/QB's/Wr's go off so one of these guys; really any of these 7 will be there. But as much as I want defense, if and WHEN Sammy goes down again, the cupboard is really bare ---> right now. So if Corey Davis is there, take him. Mike Williams and John Ross scare me @ #10 but then again I'm not a scout, although my son is (recruiter) --->high school to college. Finally, those that want to trade back need a partner (obviously) so unless Arizona or someone really falls in love with a player/QB I can't see that happening in a draft that is very deep. Go Bills !
-
WTH !! if BPA is @ a position of need you(obviously) trade down ? Is this the least commonsense post in awhile? I hope they go defense myself, but if they're board has WR #1 when #10 is on the clock you don't turn down the gift.

But it does show that personally attacking a poster to defend this pathetic franchise is the argument of choice for the masses. Any comments/criticisms of this team is met by the weak minded with the brilliant comeback of :We're doomed" This is meant to cut off debate and pretend that we should "Move along there's nothing to see here"

Who the Bills will pick at 10
BillsCelticsAngelsBama replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As it stands now seems you need Db or WR... possibly TE if the value is way better. CB's are more involved in the game than a WR & WR can be had later. -

If he falls, run to the table with the card before Whaley trades down to gain an extra future special teamer -
2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
BillsCelticsAngelsBama replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
As my buddies in SoCal know, my son was a coach @ a Big South school in No Carolina & is now going to coach in a newly formed "American" Football league in Australia (which they are calling "Gridiron"; down under). Anyway he is good friends w/ an NFC Head coach(phone calls about once every two weeks) and my son's closest friend is currently a scout for an NFC south team. The only reason to bore you with this is to say that he e-mailed me a list of players with some notes (not full scouting reports) on many of the players in this draft. Being a draftnerd for 45 years, he is living the dream I never had the talent to do. For what it's worth ----> this is mostly from the NFC South scout, there are eight Level 1 (elite) players this year: Defense(6):Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster, Marshon Lattimore, Jamal Adams, & Mailk Hooker. Offense(2):Dalvin Cook & Leonard Fournette. Eight Level 2 players: Defense(5) Jabrill Peppers, Haason Reddick, Solomon Thomas, Derek Barnett, & Marlon Humphrey. Offense(3) OJ Howard, Corey Davis & Mike Williams There were 5 levels that he sent me but I won't bore you with the rest unless you're a nerd like me in which case you can PM me. But my son didn't have any indication as to a rating within the levels. Again, take it for what it's worth, just thought it was an interesting read, especially about the mental make-up of a few players. Finally, One note from a scout was hilarious....questioning the sanity of a DB from Florida (Tabor). Sorry for the length of post. Go Whaley/Bills !! -
Would you re-sign Justin Hunter?
BillsCelticsAngelsBama replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Red Zone Target... so overrated . Sign him -
Davis, not even close. Williams, though my namesake, is not a route runner. But if Justin Hunter goes to New England, or anywhere else for that matter, we need a TD presence in the Red Zone, so Williams would be an assett there Can we just go defense. WR can be had later but stud safety, Reuben Foster, Solomon Thomas, Derek Barnett, Malik Hooker or any of that ilk can not be found as easily IMO.

If no Tyrod Taylor, where do we go?
BillsCelticsAngelsBama replied to KRT88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cardale likes going from 3rd string to playoff championships Romo or Mitch Trubisky are the only ones that have the accuracy necessary to play here. But I'm not necessarily advocating that. Too many, very good players in this draft to go QB in round 1 ... and Trubisky won't be there in second, I'm afraid -

Rex is a clown, as I said right after he was hired. But thankfully the wise old "We're Doomed" crowd let me know that I was not a real Bills fan if I didn't trust the new owners. Been a fan since 1965 and I am looking forward to the day we can all say, "We actually have an NFL caliber QB and an NFL caliber HC. Hope it's real soon. But we're in a better place than we were on Monday... sorry "We're Doomed" crowd
