  1. I expect it when mediocre players do it. It bothers me a lot when very talented players do it. And Josh not only does it all the time, but gets demonstrative to the officials claiming a hit to the head for example when it wasn't even close like Sunday. The only way to get rid of it I think is for booth reviews of all head contact and if its a flop, penalize and fine the flopper. It shouldn't take long. The Sunday flop would have taken < 30 seconds to review and reverse. Like the OP, it bothers me so much because Josh is so talented. And it cheapens his talent IMO.
  2. Bills can only control their own games. They won what on paper were the hard games. Just win baby.
  3. Yup. 11 times in about 208 games (unless my math is off). And what, say 120 snaps per game maybe. So 11 times in about 24,960 snaps. But how many times did someone actually line up Offside, no way to tell that I know of. [Why does this board capitalize the O in Offside for me )
  4. D1 athletes take classes on how to deal with press and interviews. So certainly possible. But across the entire team the support for McD has been universal as witnessed with the 9/11 thing.
  5. Agreed. But they should probably be consistent about it. Make it always be the players responsibility for the legality of the formation as well as offside. Take away the warning/asking completely. And, of course, call it every time it happens.
  6. Glad you had a great time. From what I hear, most stadiums/cities are that way and the fans treat it like entertainment, not life and death. With only a few exceptions.
  7. In one of those "parallel universe" theoretical discussions, what would the reaction be here if it was the Bills called for that offside on a TD scoring play late in the game? Josh would have kept his cool, McD probably as well. Better than KC handled it. Yeah Josh said when he saw the flag he figured it was on the Bills as that just isn't called. But fortunately is was called.
  8. I get it. Has anyone ever seen offside called on the offense? I don't remember ever. No one I know remembers one either. He was clearly offside, no one can refute that. But no warning at that point of the game is inexcusable. I get why he blew up and why both Mahomes and Reid made (the likely expensive) comments they both made after the game. There are many reasons for the extremely poor officiating this year. But lucky for the Bills (and by extension us ) that one got them the W and kept the playoff hopes alive.
  9. Has been the dream of the more-money NFL for quite a while now. There just isn't much interest outside of the US except with displaced Americans. Tackle football is just a curiosity at best outside the US and Canada. The NFL keeps trying to change that like FIFA is trying to make football (soccer) popular in the US. Neither is having much success so far.
  10. A person on my work team lives in KC and is a huge Chiefs fan. He's been telling me this week that Chiefs fans are worried about this game for 2 reasons: The Chiefs receivers have a bad case of stone hands and are dropping everything. They feel this is the game where the Bills look like a good team again, impress everyone with a win ... then lose out the remainder of the season. I hope its true for this week, we can deal with the rest of the season after Sunday
  11. Interesting, I feel that the "But they will leave Buffalo!" mentality is a neurosis.
  12. You answered your own question. Even if the entire team was healthy they almost certainly don't win out with this schedule. But remember too, this is just football, not life and death. Those same "some fans" prefer to turn their brains off sometimes and just enjoy I'm not wired that way, and it seems you are not either. But that's what makes it fun for them! If I'm going to turn my brain off, I'm going balls out ... Taylor Swift watches the Bills/KC game and falls in love with the team and particularly the road Bills fans. She makes Pegs the proverbial offer he can't refuse on the spot for both the Bills and the Sabres. Her Midas touch brings both the Lombardi trophy and Lord Stanleys cup for the first time each to Buffalo, and in the same year!
  13. That thought process cracks me up. Here is how that would go: Bills Fans: I'm not spending my hard earned money for a PSL and seasons tickets for a inferior product! Bills: If we don't get enough sales we'll have to move the team. Bills Fans: Oh ... OK then here ya go, I'll take 2 please.
  14. What classic game are you talking about? Yikes. They have a clock so that if time expires, the game is a tie. Overtime should be sudden death IMO. With kickers making 50+ yard field goals almost routinely now, I like the FG on first possession rule. Basically just because the Bills lost, and Josh has an abysmal OT record, it ain't broke so don't fix it.
  15. Sell both teams to Taylor Swift. It's the only hope.
  16. It's time to put down the crack pipe and step away from the keyboard, fellow Bills fan
  17. Has he been doing bad this season? I really don't pay attention to that. Or is this just based on yesterday?
  18. They did play poorly for them. The Bills just over achieved in the "oh yeah, hold my beer" department.
