  1. I agree. Not in Buddy Nix's character to mortgage even 1 draft for 1 player, much less 2 drafts.
  2. At the end of the day not that much pressure. Spiller scored a 10 and got taken at #9. This test does not seem to matter much overall.
  3. Why would they make a definitive statement either way at this point?
  4. Maybe I can settle this Fitz versus Eli thing. Fitz is a Bill. Eli is not a Bill. Therefore, Fitz is a better QB than Eli.
  5. I sure hope that's what he did! But one number he kicks my ass in is the net worth number. Go figure
  6. I saw several people reference Spillers score so I looked it up. 10 !!!!!!! Are you kidding me For simplicity, assuming 50 questions with half of them being being multiple choice with 4 possible answers and answering each one randomly: 25 * .25 = 6.25 So CJ didn't do much better than marking only the multiple choice questions randomly. Nice.
  7. I don't think anyone would argue against that the D played poorly and contributed significantly to the last half of the season. But that isn't the only reason in my opinion. Teams figured out (Jets being the first) that if you crowd the line and take away the short game, you take away the Bills only serious offensive weapons. Fitz throwing deep does not scare anyone but Bills fans. The challenge for Gailey this season will be to figure out a way to combat what teams did to the Bills the last half of last season. The challenge for the Stache is somewhat more daunting. Figure out a way not to suck ass.
  8. I am going to give it to my 13 year old and 11 year olds tonight just to see how they do. I expect them to miss those 2 word problems but I suspect they will get most of the others right.
  9. I have seen those before or it probably would have gotten me as well. Things like swapping of "ie" and "ei" are easy to overlook if you don't know to specifically look for stuff like that.
  10. You are correct of course, and this includes Buddy Nix. With Fitz's 3/4 throwing motion and inability to throw accurately over 10 yards (and arguably less than 10 yards far too often) there is no way Fitz is more than a backup to Manning. Now getting back to the original point of this thread if I may, blaming Fitz for everything IS stupid. However overlooking his obvious deficiencies is also stupid IMO.
  11. I can see why Fitz scored so high. Not exactly rocket science. Only ones that required thought were 9 and 10. Question 8 is exactly the type I am helping my fifth grader do for his homework now That being said I did miss one in the 5 minutes, number 9 for a score of 46. Marino 16 and Mcnabb 14 huh. I guess you don't need to have a brain to be a good QB after all.
  12. TV money has to hit a ceiling as well in my opinion. I just don't see how this can be sustained without increasing the market (for example TV contracts in Europe or Asia) itself, which I don't see happening. But time will tell I guess.
  13. I think it is going to have to start shrinking at some point if the NFL wants to stay in business. Think about it for a minute, 10 million or more for one player for a 16 game regular season! That is just unbelievably ridiculous! The NFL has been trying to increase its fan base outside of the US, but has been (and in my opinion will continue to be) unsuccessful. There is no way the NFL can support these insane salaries solely on the backs (or wallets) of American fans.
  14. I totally understand your gripe and I agree with you. But fans absolutely have recourse. The only recourse that counts, and it is 100% your option to not buy/renew seasons. And it seems that every season more and more fans are taking that recourse.
  15. Wow, I guess it really is the off season
  16. Come on, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel
  17. Half the time what you are watching at preseason games are guys that are going to be selling hot dogs at the stadium in a couple weeks. You are right though, I must have forgotten that this is the NFL we are talking about. If they charged less for the preseason games the NFL would without a doubt raise the price of the regular season games to at least offset the preseason games reduction. What was I thinking. Probably the better way to think of it is to take the total price of your season ticket and divide by 7 and consider that as your ticket cost. And treat the preseason games as free
  18. Ralph is too cheap to stop world hunger.
  19. You are right about not knowing the answer for sure. But to me at least it is easy to see that the Bills cannot have a significant economic impact on the area. There simply are too few games. As to the quality of life thing, that is not quite so cut and dried. But I figure there are probably 100,000 - 200,000 hard core Bills fans in the area (probably generous I know), and say another 500,000 casual fans. The rest probably couldn't care less about the Bills particularly now after the dirty dozen playoff drought. For the hard core fans the Bills leaving would really suck for quite some time. But apart from the hard core fans the overall quality of life impact would be mild as well I believe. That being said, I would strongly prefer the Bills stay in Buffalo. But my world won't come to an end if they do not. Ultimately it will come down to a business decision, for better or for worse.
  20. Reflecting on this a bit more, if the Bills really are double dipping on this (money from Rogers and from season ticket holders) and they don't lose any season ticket holders over it, it is a brilliant business move on the part of the Bills. Free money, what's not to love about that!
  21. Technically no one has to buy anything. To those who don't like it, don't renew and tell your sales rep that's why. It really is ridiculous that the NFL has the balls to charge full price for preseason games. The Sabres, by means of comparison, include the preseason games in the season ticket packages, but at a much lower price.
  22. I'm at a loss then. Why lower rockpile prices????? Not that you are complaining mind you
  23. We are at the Pinto outside, not by the stadium. Only get the kids day dogs inside. Might be worth a run up there though, thanks! Yes, for now anyway. But that is likely to change as well unless the team turns around. But lowering the price is a good way to slow the situation. If not to keep the rockpile full, what reason would they have for such a price drop there do you think? I mean, why drop the price in a section that has no trouble selling out? Mr. Wilson felling particularly generous?
  24. Yeah but good luck getting one unless you are willing to miss a quarter standing in line. The lower prices are only for the kids tickets, the adults pay full face value. Plus the kids price was $15 last year I believe (up from $10 the previous year). You would have to be nuts to pay that. My wife got 6 in the sideline 100's on stub hub for about $30 last year. That's a reasonable price for a preseason game in my opinion, but don't expect ole Russ to let the season ticket holders off the hook. A blanket reduction of all ticket prices could be seen an admission of front office failure and worry over declining season ticket sales. Giving a couple areas a break could be spun as a thank you to the rabid rockpile fans and promoting the "family" atmosphere in the family section. Plus it would not be good for Bills fans psyche to see a half empty rockpile all season. Not good at all.
