  1. You are correct of course, and this includes Buddy Nix. With Fitz's 3/4 throwing motion and inability to throw accurately over 10 yards (and arguably less than 10 yards far too often) there is no way Fitz is more than a backup to Manning. Now getting back to the original point of this thread if I may, blaming Fitz for everything IS stupid. However overlooking his obvious deficiencies is also stupid IMO.
  2. I can see why Fitz scored so high. Not exactly rocket science. Only ones that required thought were 9 and 10. Question 8 is exactly the type I am helping my fifth grader do for his homework now That being said I did miss one in the 5 minutes, number 9 for a score of 46. Marino 16 and Mcnabb 14 huh. I guess you don't need to have a brain to be a good QB after all.
  3. TV money has to hit a ceiling as well in my opinion. I just don't see how this can be sustained without increasing the market (for example TV contracts in Europe or Asia) itself, which I don't see happening. But time will tell I guess.
  4. I think it is going to have to start shrinking at some point if the NFL wants to stay in business. Think about it for a minute, 10 million or more for one player for a 16 game regular season! That is just unbelievably ridiculous! The NFL has been trying to increase its fan base outside of the US, but has been (and in my opinion will continue to be) unsuccessful. There is no way the NFL can support these insane salaries solely on the backs (or wallets) of American fans.
  5. I totally understand your gripe and I agree with you. But fans absolutely have recourse. The only recourse that counts, and it is 100% your option to not buy/renew seasons. And it seems that every season more and more fans are taking that recourse.
  6. Wow, I guess it really is the off season
  7. Come on, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel
  8. Half the time what you are watching at preseason games are guys that are going to be selling hot dogs at the stadium in a couple weeks. You are right though, I must have forgotten that this is the NFL we are talking about. If they charged less for the preseason games the NFL would without a doubt raise the price of the regular season games to at least offset the preseason games reduction. What was I thinking. Probably the better way to think of it is to take the total price of your season ticket and divide by 7 and consider that as your ticket cost. And treat the preseason games as free
  9. Ralph is too cheap to stop world hunger.
  10. You are right about not knowing the answer for sure. But to me at least it is easy to see that the Bills cannot have a significant economic impact on the area. There simply are too few games. As to the quality of life thing, that is not quite so cut and dried. But I figure there are probably 100,000 - 200,000 hard core Bills fans in the area (probably generous I know), and say another 500,000 casual fans. The rest probably couldn't care less about the Bills particularly now after the dirty dozen playoff drought. For the hard core fans the Bills leaving would really suck for quite some time. But apart from the hard core fans the overall quality of life impact would be mild as well I believe. That being said, I would strongly prefer the Bills stay in Buffalo. But my world won't come to an end if they do not. Ultimately it will come down to a business decision, for better or for worse.
  11. Reflecting on this a bit more, if the Bills really are double dipping on this (money from Rogers and from season ticket holders) and they don't lose any season ticket holders over it, it is a brilliant business move on the part of the Bills. Free money, what's not to love about that!
  12. Technically no one has to buy anything. To those who don't like it, don't renew and tell your sales rep that's why. It really is ridiculous that the NFL has the balls to charge full price for preseason games. The Sabres, by means of comparison, include the preseason games in the season ticket packages, but at a much lower price.
  13. I'm at a loss then. Why lower rockpile prices????? Not that you are complaining mind you
  14. We are at the Pinto outside, not by the stadium. Only get the kids day dogs inside. Might be worth a run up there though, thanks! Yes, for now anyway. But that is likely to change as well unless the team turns around. But lowering the price is a good way to slow the situation. If not to keep the rockpile full, what reason would they have for such a price drop there do you think? I mean, why drop the price in a section that has no trouble selling out? Mr. Wilson felling particularly generous?
  15. Yeah but good luck getting one unless you are willing to miss a quarter standing in line. The lower prices are only for the kids tickets, the adults pay full face value. Plus the kids price was $15 last year I believe (up from $10 the previous year). You would have to be nuts to pay that. My wife got 6 in the sideline 100's on stub hub for about $30 last year. That's a reasonable price for a preseason game in my opinion, but don't expect ole Russ to let the season ticket holders off the hook. A blanket reduction of all ticket prices could be seen an admission of front office failure and worry over declining season ticket sales. Giving a couple areas a break could be spun as a thank you to the rabid rockpile fans and promoting the "family" atmosphere in the family section. Plus it would not be good for Bills fans psyche to see a half empty rockpile all season. Not good at all.
  16. Only a truly deranged fan would relocate his family in his quest. It is an honor to call you a Bills fan sir!
  17. She will always be one of my favorites!
  18. Reasonable thoughts. But signing him, or tagging him, now might nudge people to buy their 2012 seasons.
  19. There is a contingent here who would go that high, and some even a little higher. I'm with you, but to others here SJ is a premier WR.
  20. Oh well below the other things to be sure. But if you were a 25 year old single millionaire and all other things being equal, would you choose to live in say Miami or Buffalo
  21. You lost me right there. It is a business first, for the players as well as the owners. You say "greed himself right off the team" like it's a bad thing. Thinking with the homer switch in the off position for just a minute, he would be nuts not to explore every option at this point. If the Bills wanted to avoid that, they could have put a tempting offer out during the season like they did for the Amish rifle. But the way it sits now, I see it potentially as (assuming he gets offers other than from the Bills): 1) Take an offer from another team and play in a bigger market, for at least the same (if not more) money, on a team that has a decent chance of going deep into the playoffs next season, in a city that has outstanding nightlife (not that Johnson likes to party or anything ). -- or -- 2) Take an offer from Buffalo and ... play for the Bills. It isn't greeding himself off the team, it is not being an idiot homer about his business decision. I hope he ends up on the Bills, but to blame him if he does not is just plain being silly. The Bills could still drop the franchise (toe)tag on him. But that keeps him for what, one rebuilding year longer?
  22. If a team requests the carry over, are then then required to spend it? If not I would expect Brandon to insist on requesting the carry over. Giving the impression that the team is willing to spend is too good of a public relations opportunity to pass up when facing another off season of shrinking season ticket buyers.
  23. If Gailey stays pass happy definitely not. Otherwise 62.5 yards each on average per game isn't out of the question I'd say.
  24. Check and mate. And might I add, WOW!
