Bills announce that the Titans game has sold out
CodeMonkey replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on, Lets circle the wagons and lead the charge and every other catch phrase you can think of and sell out every game before the season begins! Lets show the team what fan support is really like! And at the same time guarantee I can watch them all on TV -
Gailey's talent assessment???
CodeMonkey replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This attitude puzzles me, and you aren't the only one to express it. So if they go 8-8 or worse they are out ... without the slightest freaking clue if there would be anyone better available or willing to coach in Buffalo. So should they shitcan Gailey and bring back Jauron? -

Gailey's talent assessment???
CodeMonkey replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe that traditionally teams do more than a "little" game planning for the dress rehearsal. They try to make it as close as possible to a regular season game including having the starters play the beginning of the 3rd quarter (restart after the halftime break). I'm sure Gailey won't engage his mega-mind plan for the season until opening day, but we should see them prepared and not looking like they are running drills in practice like we have been seeing. -
Just got the text from the Bills.

Here here! And that is about the best thing you could say about his post.

Gailey's talent assessment???
CodeMonkey replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The game this Saturday should show everyone a lot. The Steelers looked pretty sound against the Colts. This upcoming dress rehersal game should go a long way to showing just what the Bills have this season, particularly on offense. There should be no "no game planning" or "vanilla" type excuses available come Sunday morning. We will see what we will see. -
Gailey's talent assessment???
CodeMonkey replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think most people "feel" ChaNix are the better duo. Ultimately however, the only measure than means anything is the record. And to this point at least, ChaNix have failed to live up to the lofty record of their predecessors. This should be the year that starts to change. -
I could not possible agree less. NFL fans will still watch and go to the games. Particularly the season ticket holders whose money is already gone anyway. The NFL doesn't care about the PR nightmare that is the blackout rule, why would they care much about this. People will piss and moan about the replacements just like they whine about the regular refs (look back at the Monday threads the last few seasons here if you don't believe me). It will have no noticeable impact on the NFL bottom line. And I suspect that even you would still end up watching in the scenario you suggested

The bad tackling we saw Friday night
CodeMonkey replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or maybe they have been playing football their entire lives and should have the basics that are taught to 5 year olds down by now. In case they need a refresher ... http://www.wikihow.com/Tackle-in-Football -
Bernstein: The NFL Preseason Sucks
CodeMonkey replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The players don't want more regular season games. And if there are more, they will want more of the money. The NFL is doing very good the way that it is. -
Will it cost the NFL any money? No. So yes, the NFL is ready for that.
-
It almost can't be a money issue. More likely an issue that the Bills, for the first time in a LONG time, have enough talent where they had to make some tough choices on who goes and who stays.
-
Just got the official text. Its done.
-
Thanks for helping us recruit players, and oh yeah ... clean out your locker. I suspected this might happen based on when he played in the Vikings game. Well Buffalo gave him more than a fair shot the past couple seasons. Too bad it couldn't work out.

Bernstein: The NFL Preseason Sucks
CodeMonkey replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no incentive for the NFL to change their preseason ticket pricing policy. The NFL gets all the extra revenue which makes them happy, and the starters don't play very much which keeps them healthier and happier. The only real losers are the season ticket holders. And if they don't mind being raped why should the NFL care either. Like you said, it is what it is. Any season ticket holder is free to not buy the seasons if they don't like the preseason policy. -
Would You Trade Any 3 Bills Players for Andrew Luck?
CodeMonkey replied to Boludo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was impressed watching him last night, particularly against the Steelers who brought their A defensive game for sure.. Even after his bad pic-6 he didn't try and blame anyone else. I could read his lips on the sideline after while talking to the coach "I !@#$ed up". It would appear that Indy's suck for Luck strategy just might pay big dividends. I didn't realize that with their second pick they took one of Lucks college receivers. Too bad the Bills play them in Indy in late November. I suspect Luck would have a much harder time playing at the Ralph that time of year. -
Top ten reasons the Bills don't make the playoffs
CodeMonkey replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) Gailey grew a beard. 2) Not only the refs, but the replacement refs hate the Bills as well. 3) The NFL hates the city of Buffalo. 4) There are not enough wings in the city of Buffalo to feed the Bills D line. 5) The Canadian Ballet will drain the rookie Bills of all energy. I've been drained of too much energy to come up with 5 more. -
Our? We? Who Is Announcing This Game???
CodeMonkey replied to Tenhigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah the Bills ones are just as bad. I had to turn off the audio after the first quarter, it was just too brutal. Every other play was a terrible call against the Bills. And when the replay showed it was not a bad call they would stop complaining ... maybe. Just brutal. But that's how it is every preseason game. -
Probably not so much for a 2-0 record as I think it is universally understood (even here ) that the win/loss record in preseason truly is meaningless. But if the offense was firing on all cylinders and Fitz completing 25 yard passes every other play you bet most of the "totally meaningless" posts would be replaced by how great the offense is posts. If you watched Ponder and the Vikings starting offense at all, and if you have seen any of the other preseason games you will see where offenses should be by this time. The Bills aren't there in my opinion. This next game should really show where they are as the starters for both teams should play an extended period of time.
-
. It is audition time for every team the Bills play during preseason as well so your initial argument makes little sense.. The "don't worry be happy" sentiment by the same people that made the same statements the last 12 seasons is also laughable if it wasn't so sad. I saw improvement last night in the offense (but to be honest there was no where to go but up after that first game), and the defensive line looked better to me as well. And that's all I was looking for. I am not one of those people that think the Bills will be challenging the Pats* for the top of the AFC East this year. The offense is still too weak for that in my opinion. So what I wanted was for the offense to start looking like last years offense, which is actually what it is, and they did. And for the defense to gel a bit more and play better, which they did as well. That plus the most important thing, no serious injuries, makes last nights game a success. The sky is not falling any more than people should book their superbowl reservations.

Bills could challenge for Division
CodeMonkey replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is interesting logic. By that reasoning you can kill someone but as long as you did not get caught you didn't do it. -
Preseason? We don't need no stinkin preseason! The robot is already in regular season form!
