Video: Bills Season Wrap Up Press Conference
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most people want to, quite a few do. *sigh* "Evaluating" is Brandon-speak for "I understand fans are upset about this. And I am going to continue it anyway because it makes us a buttload of money. So this will defer the matter until after people have calmed down and will be less likely to tear up their season ticket renewal forms." -
Great job! There are other factors that could be considered such as how many times SJ13 was targeted, taking other seasons into account etc. But hopefully that is something that the Bills shiny new analytics "dept." is already evaluating!

New Stadium Technology In Miami
CodeMonkey replied to ICanSleepWhenI'mDead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"HD TV and comfortable couch sitting at home" That is soooo me! I can't even imagine what tech they could add to the stadium to get me there. The way I see it, people either enjoy the "game day experience" and are willing to pay for it, or not. Tech won't fill seats. -
I have no doubt that Manuel is the odds on favorite to be the Bills starter next season. I'm not arguing that. But why tell him he already is when Marrone himself can't possibly be 110% sure? Marrone just seems to shoot his mouth off sometimes. Granted that comment may not have been meant for the general public, but still, why? Learn from your mistakes Doug.

Kyle Williams: "There will be changes here"
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow how did the Bills end up the only team under .500 in the AFCE and 2 games behind the jests and fish? Better be some big changes there Kyle boy, big changes indeed. Lead the charge! -
This makes no sense to me at all. So Marrone is saying that if by some miracle Johnny Football falls to the Bills, they will either not take him and take him with "110% certainty" that Manuel will start over him? After this season Marrone shouldn't be 110% sure that HE will be picking the Bills QB next season. What is the point in telling Manuel this?

Officiating (and not just the Bills game)
CodeMonkey replied to wnysteel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The officiating this year, and every year is awful. For the most part they are far too old to do a good job. This truly needs to be addressed. Simply having a "war room" to overturn call is nowhere near enough of a change. Sometimes you can understand missing something, There is a lot going on at the same time. But take as an example the blown hands to the face call yesterday that allowed the Bills to score a TD. I mean, it was out in the open, he obviously was looking there as he saw the pats* player do it. But didn't see the Bills player doing the same thing at the same time? Crazy. -
What batch of kool-aid will Russ whip up next?

One of the most awesome and underrated movies of all time. -
I can't say I disagree with anything here. I would probably add a every down RB as well. FredEX is not getting any younger.

Who are you ready to see go?
CodeMonkey replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup when you look at his total yards and even his YPC of 4.6 for the season it sure says "awesome". But Spiller gets his yards in big chunks. He will rip off a 60 or 70 yard beauty, followed by 10 or 12 plays of little to no gain. That one run is very exciting to watch, but overall that style runner does not help the team over the course of a game or season. That is why I think some would like him gone. As for me, I'm not in the "cut him" camp by any means. But I would not shed a tear if he was traded for good value. And to be honest, i suspect such a trade would be good for Spiller's career as well. -
With the money he makes he can afford to hire someone to make sure he gets his ass out of bed.

Yeah I added in WR after you quoted me That also helps sell Manuel as well. It hurts some people too much to be analytical after the past 14 seasons. And Brandon certainly does not want Bills fans thinking analytically! -

With 14 years in the tank it must be getting harder for Brandon, even if the audience is looking hard for the slightest reason to Billieve, I suspect one coach will be offered up as a human sacrifice ... probably ST but maybe (though unlikely) OC. He will go to great lengths to continue to sell Manuel as the QB of the future. Not sure how, but he is nothing if not a creative guy. The #9 pick will be something sexy, not a lineman or even a LB. Maybe a every down stud RB or WR that he can market. He will be very public about the Bills making every effort in good faith to resign Byrd. Season ticket prices won't go up much, and some might be lowered again. He got a lot of mileage out of that last year. Plus like I said, Brandon is good at his job. I'm sure he has something else up his sleeve that I can't begin to predict. -
Kyle Williams: "There will be changes here"
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't he do the same thing at the end of last season and/or the start of this season? And of course he is going to stand up for his coach, at least publicly. Uhhh Firing the ST coach perhaps -
So the QB the Bills signed off of another teams practice squad was no better or worse than the Bills first round "franchise" draft pick. That alone is a very scary thought. Some of that comes from being a rookie, while more comes from being injured so much (both knees suspect which is also a concern going forward). But is still not a good sign. I'm certainly not jumping up and down demanding Manuel be cut or that the Bills use their #9 in this draft to take a QB. And I do not have enough knowledge to make a intelligent decision in this matter. But those lines I quoted from you certainly got me thinking.

2hd half thread Bills at Cheatriots
CodeMonkey replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What makes you think the Bills will sign him? -
You can only be disappointed in Marrone if you expected him to do better this season. Not sure why you would have expected that.
-
Do something in the off season to generate fan interest so season tickets sell. Then strive for 8-8 ... but don't make it. Blame the result on Manuel missing so many games this year and give everyone another year to do the same thing again.
