Will Marrone Make Any More Changes?
CodeMonkey replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way! Brandon is not cheap! IBM BlueGene/L all the way! The $290,000,000 price tag is a small price to pay to build a winning team! -
How much faith do you have in M & M?
CodeMonkey replied to Gerry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me the jury is still out on both. I see nothing to give me a great deal of hope. But I also don't see anything that makes me long for them to be kicked to the curb either. -

Any more changes? How about any changes, period. Canning a WR coach not for performance, but philosophical reasons really isn't a change worth noting. And no, I do not expect any [more] changes in the coaching staff initiated by Marrone, -
Playoff games having trouble Selling Out
CodeMonkey replied to John in Jax's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I was in college we once had temperatures where the high for the day was -20 ish. They declared a state of emergency and mandated no unnecessary travel. At some point it is not just dangerous, but just plain stupid not to postpone events, particularly outdoor ones. -
Yeah that's what I like most about this place. I don't follow the NFL except for the Bills, and I do not follow college football at all. So when it comes to the draft and free agency I rely on posters here for the majority of my information.

Playoff games having trouble Selling Out
CodeMonkey replied to John in Jax's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder at what point, if any, the NFL steps in due to player and/or fan safety. Sure makes a case against northern teams without domed stadiums. Then again, where is the SB after this being played? -
I believe they can tag him again.

What batch of kool-aid will Russ whip up next?

I can't even imagine what Brandon et al could do this off season to increase the season ticket holder base by more than 50%. -
Playoff games having trouble Selling Out

Of course they did not try and gut out any wins. Had they done so, they would have not gotten P. Manning Jr. Given the choice of sucking for one season or for 14+, which would you take? Suck for Luck my friend. -

It doesn't take much in Buffalo. Bills fans really want to Billieve. Most people who had seasons this past season will renew with the slightest hope such as a sexy first round pick and the hope/belief than Manuel will come around in 2014. A lot will renew without anything more being done by the FO other than keeping the Bills in Buffalo, -

A lot too depends upon how much Whaley/Marrone really think of Manuel. If they full-on believe that Manuel will turn it around this year and start looking like a franchise, or even a top tier, QB then they won't need to even consider drafting a QB as a marketing ploy. Nothing sells tickets, seasons or otherwise, more than winning. -

Agree completely. I don't believe the guy has even been there one full season, and a big part of analytics would come into play for the draft/FA and he has not been around for either yet! -
Google to bid on Sunday Ticket? (link inside)
CodeMonkey replied to Beebes Bubble's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes for an interesting marketing study doesn't it. Faced with needing more money to pay the players and owners more and more, probably having nearly maxed out ticket prices, pushed the commercial TV contract to it's limit, what are they to do? Expanding the market outside of the US is a long shot in my opinion. Making everyone pay to watch would seem a good way for the NFL to increase its profits. If people will pay what they do to go to a game, I have to believe a great many people would pay to watch the games at home as well. In Canada for example, several NHL teams already have a premium channel where you pay a fee to watch all of that teams games for the season. I could see a similar model working nicely for the NFL as well. And they could have these channels on all the major providers, cable as well as satellite. Think of how many people here get the ticket now basically to watch Bills games. -
Worst thing that could happen this offseason??
CodeMonkey replied to Oberyn's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Worst thing that could happen is that somehow my expectations for 2014 get raised to 14-2 and I go on suicide watch in October. But you know what the say, fool me once shame on you, fool me 15 times shame on me -
Interesting too that Byrd did not take Graham's bait ...

Huh. I would have expected to have seen a Shanny-fan wish for him to replace Marrone by now

The Bills have now sucked for 14 years in a row. The vast majority of people who have seasons now will continue to buy them regardless of record, as long as they are in Buffalo. Of course if Brandon is trying to increase the number of seasons holders significantly then he is going to have to pull a rabbit out of his butt -
Totally agree, When he gave information you could take it to the bank.

New Stadium Technology In Miami
CodeMonkey replied to ICanSleepWhenI'mDead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They could do like they do in airplanes I guess and mount screens on all the (non bench) seats. Maybe seasons holders always are active, and everyone else swipes a credit card to activate theirs. To do that with phones would require all the phone providers to provide lots of data access to each stadium and would really burn through peoples data plans as well. -

When you go to board a plane they xray those devices and look very closely at them. I've even had to fire mine up a few times so they could see it working. I can't imagine stadium security turning into what they do at airports, it would take forever to get into the stadium. They would have to provide (well rent, this is the NFL after all) devices somehow. Are they going to allow people to bring their own tablets etc. into the Miami stadium I wonder? Sure seems like a terrorists wet dream, particularly with it being televised live. -
Who are you ready to see go?
CodeMonkey replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree completely with this. Spiller in the correct offense could be awesome. For example, no way in hell do I want him on the pats*. But I sure don't see the Bills offense being able to use him correctly in the foreseeable future. -
Kyle Williams: "There will be changes here"

If you are going to cut players on the basis of one bad game this past season Whaley is going to be very busy trying to sign new players this offseason. -

Or you can do what some do and divide your total cost by 7 and assume that is your per ticket cost. Treat the preseason tix as free and do with them what you will. I suspect even calculating that way the Bills have some of the cheapest season ticket prices in the NFL. I don't see Brandon bringing back the home game. It is too lucrative for the Bills and keeps season ticket prices lower. Plus Toronto won't take a preseason game without a regular season one. Syracuse might draw some fans from ever further east and might be worth a shot though.
