Training Camp Trip: Where to eat/drink/stay
CodeMonkey replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes but be prepared to drop some significant coin and you won't go there right from camp as it is at least business casual dress there. -

And not to mention she'd kick your ass -

Agree about Plum Garden. The kids enjoyed the show, but the food was at best average, and that may be stretching it. -

I don't care for Thai, but that is my wifes favorite. -

So this 40 year old is better than looking than any Jill. How depressing. Maybe it's best if the Jills stay disbanded permanently. -
Jaws to discuss EJ on ESPN now
CodeMonkey replied to CountryCletus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least he made it to a superbowl. I don't care for any ex-players. Their insights are really no better than some people here. Coaches are another story. But I do not know how anyone can argue with Manuel being ranked that low at this point. He has shown extremely little to date. Jaws is not a Bills homer after all. -

Absolutely true. -
I voted no only because the talent is spread waaaaaaay too thin as it is. However the NFL may need to keep expanding just so they don't implode under the weight of their salaries.

The Bills, the most popular sports team in New York
CodeMonkey replied to CountryCletus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is very accurate. But I might swap the Bills and Rangers. It is amazing how many closet Rangers fans there are all over the state. -

Plus on Mt Hope you get people from Strong Hospital as well as UofR students. OK this one pushed me over the edge. I'm trying the plate there! Never been to James Browns, but damn that does look like a good breakfast menu. A bit far for me to go for breakfast, but it also is on my list now I know this thread started for the out of towners, but I'm getting some good info too! -

I enjoyed them on occasion as a change of pace. But they were just too sweet for me most times. I suspect the same may be true for a lot of people. You used to be able to get their sauce at Wegmans and Tops here. I'd get some for the kids to put on their chicken nuggets back in the day. Not sure if you still can get it there or not. -

Its jefferson road. But I have found the food to be pretty much the same at both places. But I don't get to the downtown one much any more. -

I used to be able to eat stuff like that, then I got old. It would probably kill me now. I'm not sure about high falls anymore. The high falls brewery used to be right there and was pretty good, but it's been closed for a while now. Not sure what, if anything, is in it's place. I don't get downtown much at all anymore. And calling the barrel a peeler is an insult to all the fine Canadian establishments! -

Yeah that's why I asked, that's how they serve them there as well -

If you ask for the wings well done at Jeremiah's I think you will like them better. Do you like the wings at Duffs in Buffalo? -

I have never been to Dogtown or Tap & Mallett. Clearly they are now on my list of places to try If you don't mind the drive, try Bad To the Bone BBQ out in Williamson. Better food (particularly the pulled pork) than both the others in my opinion! No atmosphere at all though, just food. http://bad2thebonebbq.com/ -
On the precipice of camp - some Bills prognostications

As usual, if you take the OP's "koolaid" version and average it with this "debbie downer" version you will more than likely come up with something close to what is likely to happen. -

Really, Richmonds for wings? I always found their wings to be average. Good food there otherwise though. Interesting how people have different tastes. For example, I prefer Sticky Lips to Dinosaur. Oh, and Rochester has a taste of Buffalo now as well ... Mighty Taco! -

You can sometimes see players at the Pittsford Pub (http://www.thepittsfordpub.com/) that is near SJF. You can get decent bar food there. Also there is JoJo's which is in the same location. But JoJo's is high end and expensive. Jeremiahs has the best wings in Rochester in my opinion. Holy Habanero (my fav) if you like them on the hot side. Bee Sting are pretty good as well if you like them on the milder side. But don't get the boneless. It sounds like a good idea but they are very different from normal wings. As far as hotels go, there is a Holiday Inn Express at 2835 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY 14618 which is pretty close to SJF and should be less expensive than the Radisson. I have never been in it, but they are usually nice. There are also some restaurants near there including the usual fast food places like Wendy's and McDonalds. There is also a Wegmans down the street that you will pass going from there to SJF. And a Italian place across the street called Mario's. And a wood fired pizza place right next door that isn't bad. The only downside to that hotel is that they have the street all tore up in front of it right now. They still exist, 691 Mt Hope Ave, Rochester. They are far from "traditional" wings, but I like them as well once in a while. More of a honey based sauce which makes them sweet. -

So Sammy has a good, not great, year and nearly everyone else seemingly has a great year and they only go 9-7?? if things go as you predict, I would think the Bills would be looking at more like 12-4. -
Is there something to be said about hometown...

You might be overstating it just a tad. It is a great contract for him. Big bucks and only a 2 year contract, and he can opt out after the first year. -
Browns getting live mascot - a bulldog named "Swagger"
CodeMonkey replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
JF to the Browns. LeBron back (at least for a year). The city of Cleveland is on the rise, the economy etc. is really looking good. Hopefully Buffalo can recover someday like Cleveland is now. -
That would get around the field goal issue I brought up as well. Another interesting idea.

The way the rules are for PI for example I'd say it already is an offense first league. How about the defense needing to actually stop the opponent in order for the offense to get the ball.
