I once saw someone with bacon wrapped deep fried poptarts. Not much to look at but they seemed to like them. And before you ask, I had a brainfart and forgot to ask what kind of poptarts they were

After today's practice, camp is half over

They even moved it back to 2pm today just for you. It's a sign from God! -
Probably Pegula's people What's 200 million between friends. I honestly don't give a crap if Pegula's non-binding bid was greater than or less than the JBJ bid. As long as it was good enough to keep him in the running and his real bid is the one that is accepted.

Now that's talking like a Bills fan!

Show up at hammers lot, back left corner at about 11:15 (for a 1pm game) to see the ketchup ceremony at the Pinto. My kids never get tired of it -
I have several lifelong big time Sabres fans as friends and many do not like Pegula as an owner so far. The main complaint is that he does not think things through he just reacts. The Ehrhoff signing is something they point to as an example. Signing him to a long term big contract as a knee jerk reaction then have the team pay the price. The thought too among some is that Pegula cares too much about things like pretty locker rooms and harbor centers and not enough about the actual team performance. I can see the points made, and it is hard to completely disagree if you follow the Sabres closely. But one thing is clear, the Sabres certainly aren't leaving Buffalo while Pegula is the owner. Plus, it is my feeling that the Sabres now may well have turned the corner this off season now that the cancer known as Darcy Regier has been removed and they had a very good draft, FA pickups, and resignings. LaFontaine had no business being in that position in the first place and ties into what I said above about Pegula being seen as reactionary. He knee jerked that decision it's pretty clear. Having LaFontaine in a PR role, meeting and greeting fans etc. would be fantastic. But he is not fit, in my opinion anyway, to actually make hockey decisions.

Right now the speculation is that even if the JBJ group wins, they will keep the team in WNY (if people here believe that obviously is another matter altogether). So what is there for the people in Toronto to get excited about or generate some "buzz" over?
-
Because this is a non binding bid. It costs him nothing to stay in the game and keep the insiders view. This way he can still make a formal bid if he chooses, or if he needs to partner with someone at the last minute he has no catching up to do as he has had access to the information all along. It makes perfect sense.

Training Camp Newbie...Help?
CodeMonkey replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I imagine everyone going to camp today knows by now, but just in case ... camp was postponed from 8am to 2pm due to weather. All the local weather reports say it should clear up well before then. -
Training Camp Newbie...Help?

Well, there were a lot of kids there in the rain to get Sammys autograph. But he didn't go to the tent. Apparently weather related. They handed out pictures to the kids. Print this out and it will be like your kid was there (without getting wet) -
Then again, what group has it's head up its ass further and for a longer time, the US government or the Bills Trustees
-
People there probably just aren't following it like we are. JBJ just wants to be a member of the big boys club, but his partners are very experienced in sports ownership. Don't think for a second they haven't done their homework with a billion dollar investment on the line. Or, maybe the press in Canada just doesn't print speculation as much as their US counterparts do.
-
Well I suppose it depends upon how much you trust alleged inside information about a closed bid process with a NDA in place where the winning bid is expected to be over one billion dollars. Me, I think it is about as likely to be accurate as Kate Upton is likely to give me a booty call tonight And there can be no accurate "reporting" without accurate (inside in this case) information. And no matter how much you Billieve, unless you are someone on the inside, it most certainly is a hunch (one I happen to agree with) at this point.
-
??? Of course there is nothing to refute it. Just like there is nothing to confirm it. It is a closed process. I can say that a local stripper bid 1.7 Billion. Obviously I would be full of **** and no one with half a brain would believe it, but you could neither confirm or refute it. Believe the leaks or don't, it is up to you. But to try and apply logic that since none of the earlier leaks were refuted (because no one has the information to refute or confirm them) these are probably accurate too? I think that most, including me, think he is the frontrunner of the ones we know about.
-
All successful billionaire businessmen are either in or out, they never half-ass it (Trump as a notable exception). So it's pretty obvious that Pegula wants the team. Others do as well.
-
I not much of a gambler, but I would bet than none of the leaked numbers are real. No one in their right mind would go against the NDA like that. But, people will tend to believe them so long as they like what they are hearing. So Pegula was top bidder, believe. JBJ top bidder, number is obviously fake

Training Camp Newbie...Help?

Going tomorrow? Spikes in the tent after the 8am practice Only 40% chance of rain -
I think you are assuming everyone in WNY is a Bills fan, and to the degree people on this fan board are. That is not the case. Most wouldn't care (or at least wouldn't hold a grudge against JBJ personally) 6 months after the move. But even assuming they were, you think not playing at FNC or Darien Lake (or elsewhere in WNY), or a drop in record sales in WNY is going to make him worry? Plus, he might become more popular in Toronto which as a considerably larger market would probably more than offset what he might lose. Come on man. You are REALLY stretching there

Good call not making the trip! At about 1:50 (practice started at 2) the skies opened up and it is pissing down rain. With Sammy in the autograph tent my kids made my wife take them. She's isn't a happy camper right now But at least right now they are practicing in it. -
Bills officially for sale - let the bidding begin!

Perhaps that's one reason they are talking to Congel about becoming a minority partner. -
