  1. I have relatives at the Brownies camp today, and FWIW they tell me JF is working with the 1's.
  2. Chicago is a major market. WGR is a couple guys who kinda like sports BSing.
  3. Always good to get some informed scoop. But man, signing another project QB is a tough sell. The Bills seem to be full up for that.
  4. As has been mentioned in countless threads in the past, the vegas line is what they think will be enough to entice people to bet as close to evenly on both teams as possible. It's a barometer of the betting public more than how they think the score is going to end up. But yes, this does show that vegas believes the betting public at large sees this game as a win for Da Bears.
  5. There aren't any Wegman billionaires. Key West(Florida): 1 Billionaire 613 Robert Rich Jr $2.4 Billion
  6. Yeah that would make sense. FWIW, NYC sure has a buttload of billionaires as one might expect. In fact, Pegula ties for 35th richest in NYC
  7. I went to look at how many billionaires there are in the Buffalo area, and Forbes list from 2013 showed one. I figured it was Pegula, but it was not. It was: Buffalo( New York): 1 Billionaire Jeremy Jacobs Sr $2.7 Billion When I looked for Pegula, he shows up under: Miami: 25 Billionaires Terrence Pegula $3.0 Billion So the options for benevolent overlord billionaire in the Buffalo area are very limited. But why is Pegula listed under Miami, is his primary residence there?
  8. I'll believe it when I am able to watch a blacked out Bills game without firing up a satellite dish. But it sure would be nice for everyone to be able to watch on TV if they wanted to. The question is, if the FCC lifts the rule, will the NFL still have the networks blackout anyway.
  9. I spoke to the owner of DiBellas years ago shortly after Wegmans started their sub shops. He said the bread recipe he sold Wegmans was close to the one they used in his shops, but not exactly. Which makes sense, and explains why DiBellas has always been a bit better.
  10. As it should be. It's a freaking game. Meant to be fun for all. Some idiots seem to think it's more than that and it is some kind of moral obligation to get hammered and harass anyone, women and children included, for being a fan of the opposing team. Embarrassing.
  11. In general I agree with this completely. However, it is my experience that you find far fewer fun drunks than idiots at sporting events. I think it's the predominantly male environment and the testosterone added in that does it.
  12. Reminds me of a similar experience. I was at a Sabres game with my about 10 year old son against the Habs in Buffalo. 4 or 5 drunk early 20's Habs fans right in front of us. Kerry Price was in goal for the Habs and every time he made a save, one of them would yell "The Price is right!". Late in the third or OT the Sabres scored the game winner. My son leaned forward and yelled "The price is WRONG!". The kid turned around with a smile as did his buddies and it was fine and everyone around us had a laugh. But man, when there is a lot of alcohol involved situations like that can get ugly very quickly. Not something I'd want my kid to be in the middle of.
  13. Hoyer doesn't seem to suck. Could be they are bringing JF along slowly, you know, like the way teams with more than 1 viable QB like to do. Remains to be seen. Regarding Manuel and the deep ball, we can only hope he gives people reason to make that statement.
  14. I have mostly the same recollection. However I don't remember seeing many fights then either.
  15. Spiller is a small quick skatback. Not a power runner. No surprises here. 3rd and 1 is not what he is there for.
  16. I actually consider you one of the more level headed posters here.
  17. You lost me right here. A first string RB that cannot run between the tackles at all?
  18. I voted yes not because of this past weekends game. How could you? He played with and against 2nd stringers and lower. I voted yes because I see Manuel's potential limited to being an average NFL QB if the Bills are lucky. I think JF's potential is considerably higher than that. But at the end of the day does the GM for either team make that trade based on the little NFL action either guy has seen? Extremely doubtful.
  19. So if a non AFCE team offers a 1st today, Whaley says no thanks?
  20. Really? That's the big news? Any wealthy individual with interest could have signed the NDA at that early stage.
  21. Clearly there is something going on behind the scenes that we have no clue about, and probably never will. Or, everything we think we know is all bull **** and all of this is nothing more than bull ****. Nice to be completely in the dark, isn't it
  22. Maybe. I have a hard time believing Spiller plays a significant role in their offense. He just doesn't to seem to be a every down kind of player. If they figured out a way to use him effectively and often that would be awesome, but I have a hard time with that. And if the other backs are the meat of this offense (which I believe) and one of them goes down, they cannot plug Spiller into that position. He is 180 degrees different from the others. But this is all mental masturbation anyway, no GM in their right mind would offer a 1st for him in his last year.
  23. Ahh the annual "point of emphasis" quote You can never tell with zebras I guess. And I do believe the NFL wants more scoring in an attempt to make the game more exciting for casual viewers who make up the vast majority of TV viewership I strongly suspect. So who knows. Good news is, in the HOF game anyway the Bills didn't draw many flags.
  24. I have no trouble believing this at all. But if a GM not in the AFCE calls Whaley and says "how about Spiller for a 2015 1st?" I think there will be a lengthy discussion at OBD at the very least
  25. This generally happens in preseason games. Then they back off when the regular season rolls around.
