  1. Perhaps. But it also widely accepted that bad conditions tend to level the playing field and gives the worse team a much better chance of winning the game. I would much rather watch higher quality play where the better team wins than a game in bad weather. But that's just me.
  2. I was at a game a few years ago against the Browns on a Monday night during a blizzard. 6-3 final (bad guys), all field goals. The weather sucked, and so did the game.
  3. Well, I suspect most Bills fans would have enjoyed going to the playoffs once in the past 8 years. Or 14 for that matter.
  4. So is most of what is on TV.
  5. They generally have one person that has to drop out for medical reasons. It creates drama which they can drag out on the show and generates good ratings.
  6. I don't immediately see anything wrong with a pay-per-view of blacked out games, which is exactly what I would expect the NFL to do (show me the money). Though I imagine the networks and people who still watch over the air would not be very happy about it.
  7. Hey those little bastards shouldn't be on my lawn!
  8. Regarding Pegula and fracking, it is accurate. And knowing people in PA affected there really is no debate as far as I am concerned. He and others did poison much of that state to make a profit. There are many many people there whose lives were, and still are, ruined by it. Regardless of all the good he has done and will do for the Buffalo area, where the money came from should not be forgotten. That being said, the article was clearly a hatchet job. And as Hopeful implied, pretty clearly motivated by a party that has skin in the game of the Buffalo Bills ownership.
  9. Rumor there is JF is the starter game 1 with Grossman as the backup. Hoyer is trade bait.
  10. I have relatives at the Brownies camp today, and FWIW they tell me JF is working with the 1's.
  11. Chicago is a major market. WGR is a couple guys who kinda like sports BSing.
  12. Always good to get some informed scoop. But man, signing another project QB is a tough sell. The Bills seem to be full up for that.
  13. As has been mentioned in countless threads in the past, the vegas line is what they think will be enough to entice people to bet as close to evenly on both teams as possible. It's a barometer of the betting public more than how they think the score is going to end up. But yes, this does show that vegas believes the betting public at large sees this game as a win for Da Bears.
  14. There aren't any Wegman billionaires. Key West(Florida): 1 Billionaire 613 Robert Rich Jr $2.4 Billion
  15. Yeah that would make sense. FWIW, NYC sure has a buttload of billionaires as one might expect. In fact, Pegula ties for 35th richest in NYC
  16. I went to look at how many billionaires there are in the Buffalo area, and Forbes list from 2013 showed one. I figured it was Pegula, but it was not. It was: Buffalo( New York): 1 Billionaire Jeremy Jacobs Sr $2.7 Billion When I looked for Pegula, he shows up under: Miami: 25 Billionaires Terrence Pegula $3.0 Billion So the options for benevolent overlord billionaire in the Buffalo area are very limited. But why is Pegula listed under Miami, is his primary residence there?
  17. I'll believe it when I am able to watch a blacked out Bills game without firing up a satellite dish. But it sure would be nice for everyone to be able to watch on TV if they wanted to. The question is, if the FCC lifts the rule, will the NFL still have the networks blackout anyway.
  18. I spoke to the owner of DiBellas years ago shortly after Wegmans started their sub shops. He said the bread recipe he sold Wegmans was close to the one they used in his shops, but not exactly. Which makes sense, and explains why DiBellas has always been a bit better.
  19. As it should be. It's a freaking game. Meant to be fun for all. Some idiots seem to think it's more than that and it is some kind of moral obligation to get hammered and harass anyone, women and children included, for being a fan of the opposing team. Embarrassing.
  20. In general I agree with this completely. However, it is my experience that you find far fewer fun drunks than idiots at sporting events. I think it's the predominantly male environment and the testosterone added in that does it.
  21. Reminds me of a similar experience. I was at a Sabres game with my about 10 year old son against the Habs in Buffalo. 4 or 5 drunk early 20's Habs fans right in front of us. Kerry Price was in goal for the Habs and every time he made a save, one of them would yell "The Price is right!". Late in the third or OT the Sabres scored the game winner. My son leaned forward and yelled "The price is WRONG!". The kid turned around with a smile as did his buddies and it was fine and everyone around us had a laugh. But man, when there is a lot of alcohol involved situations like that can get ugly very quickly. Not something I'd want my kid to be in the middle of.
  22. Hoyer doesn't seem to suck. Could be they are bringing JF along slowly, you know, like the way teams with more than 1 viable QB like to do. Remains to be seen. Regarding Manuel and the deep ball, we can only hope he gives people reason to make that statement.
  23. I have mostly the same recollection. However I don't remember seeing many fights then either.
  24. Spiller is a small quick skatback. Not a power runner. No surprises here. 3rd and 1 is not what he is there for.
  25. I actually consider you one of the more level headed posters here.
