  1. Come to this board for your daily dose of depression? Well, here ya go! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000593273/article/jj-watt-has-more-sacks-than-entire-bills-front-seven P.S., good luck, Seantrel...
  2. There are all kinds of embarrassing records/moments in sports: The previously winless 0-18 Sixers... The winless Detroit Lions of 2008... The 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks debacle.. Four straight Super Bowl losses (I don't consider this an "embarrassment,by the way, but fans outside of the Bills do)... But when you stand back and look at the last 15 year's of this playoff drought, it's quite astounding that one professional sports team, especially in this day-in-age of salary caps/free agency etc., can miss on as many things as they've missed on in this span... Nobody expected the team to win in 2001, as the Bills at that point were dubbed as being in "salary cap hell", and we went 3-13. But the following year, things seemed on the up and up with the drafting of rookie sensation Mike Williams out if Texas and the acquisition of Drew Bledsoe from the Patriots. I'm sure nobody realistically expected playoffs in 2002, but the Bills did finish at a respectable 8-8, a 5 win swing from the disastrous year before. And the offense was transforming into pure dynamite! 2003 had to be "their year", right?!..The Bills, fresh of an outstanding 2002 offensively, added crucial parts to solidify their defense. Acquiring standout linebacker Takeo Spikes from the Bengals, and even scooping up VERY recently released Safety Lawyer Milloy from the Patriots, just six days before the home opener! The Bills unleashed an embarrassing 31-0 thrashing of the defending Super Bowl champions. However, the week 17 matchup between the divisional rivals, although ending eerily with the same score, would find the Bills at the opposite end of that score. Even though the Bills started like a house of fire in 2003, injuries, inexcusable losses to less talented opponents would catch up with them throughout the year, as the Bills and Pats would head in opposite directions after week 1. The Bills finishing 6-10...the Pats winning a second consecutive Super Bowl. The 2004 campaign began with the hire of offensive guru Mike Mularkey as the Bills new Head Coach. This was supposed to be the spark that put Bledsoe and co. over the hump. Instead, the Bills started 2-5. But a late season surge put the Bills in prime position to get into the postseason. At 9-6, the Bills simply needed to get a victory over the Steelers at Ralph Wilson Stadium and they were in! In fact, Pittsburgh, with their postseason seed already established, played mostly their third stringers against the Bills. And the Bills we still caught flat footed! 2005 brought a year of a youth movement at the quarterback position. The Bills handed the reigns over to Tulane rookie JP Losman. And over the course of the next few years, even though showing glimpses of promise, the game overwhelmed Losman as well as new Head coach and alleged defensive guru, Dick Jauron. 7-9 was seemingly the expectation of the team until 2009 arrived...when the Bills signed a man who was the polar opposite to not only the image of its franchise, but it's fans and city. But at this point, all of the above were willing to do whatever it took to end the playoff drought. Along he came..he had left America's Team for "North America's Team" (whatever the hell that meant). But T.O. was never enough alone to get the Bills in serious contention in his short tenure, and would move on to Cincinnati. In 2011, the Bills would race out to a 3-0 start under yet another new Head coach, Chan Gailey. This was even the year the Bills would end the losing streak to the hated Patriots, overcoming a 21-0 deficit at the Ralph, only to see players drop like flies yet again throughout the year, and another 6-10 season. Gailey would be fired after the 2012 season, and Doug Marrone would take the reigns. But Marrones teams would fair only mildly better. Average quarterback play from rookie EJ Manuel and journeyman backup Kyle Orton did give the Bills a 9-7 2014 record. However, inexcusable losses to the Oakland Raiders and other sub par opponents proved the Bills weren't ready for the postseason. So, here we are. 2015...and the Bills bring aboard the infamous Rex Ryan. A an who not only came from the rival New York Jets, but led them to two consecutive AFC Championship game appearances in the process. Although Ryan's departure from the Jets was awkward, resentful and much publicized, the Bills needed a new attitude! They needed someone to give this defense, that although they led the NFL in sacks in 2014, that extra push to perhaps shoulder the load that a new offense learning a new system under Greg Roman couldn't provide this year. They needed someone to push this defense to become...a bully. To become "the greatest defense of all time". Instead, we sit at 5-6. W seemingly have a coach who has no urgency to beat opponents outside of New Jersey and Foxboro, MA. We have a defense that makes Spencer Ware look like Christian Okoye back in the '90s. We have a quarterback who, although athletically talented, looks lost in his reads every single time he drops back to pass. We have an all world receiver, who's offensive coordinator goes away from him inexplicably after having 100+ yards in one half. We have a team that loses games it should win. (See the Jaguars game in London, see last week after racing to a 10-0 lead in KC). How can a franchise miss on things for this long?! When will this nightmare end for us?!!!...
  3. Watch for the Texans to rotate JJ Watt to Seantrel Henderson's side of the offensive line alot because of the fact that Seantrel Henderson is the worst football player at any level that has ever fallen a$$ backwards into a starting NFL job. Bills-34 Texans-27 We will win because YA BOI Solomon and Spero are callin the game!!!
  4. Seantrel Henderson is the worst football player I have ever seen in my life.
  5. Dear god, PLEASE DO NOT let Seantrel Henderson "block" JJ Watt one on one... Amen
  6. Discipline has been the biggest achillies heel of this team in 2015 and that starts with the head coach. But I also believe that changing the coaching regime may also set this team back another 3-5 years, and I'm confident in speaking for the rest of the Bills fan base when I say we really can't stomach anymore of that. Players also need to execute and Rex cannot do that for them. So I say stick it out with Rex one more year and if it unravels worse in 2016, cut ties with him...
  7. Sorry, man, but I'm numb to the pain anymore. This team's broken my heart and let me down in so many innovative ways since I became a fan in 1988 that it truly does not phase me anymore.
  8. Do whatever you have to to replace Seantrel Henderson. For the love of God!!!
  9. If EJ Manuel starts at quarterback for the rest of the season we will go 5-11.
  10. I feel the following: -Not surprised, as we usually play the Pats closer in Foxboro, but still come up short, as I've stated before. -Leodis McKelvin should never return punts again...ever! -Defense had their game of the year. It was somewhat gratifying seeing Brady on his arse most of the game. -Tyrod Taylor is entirely too indecisive and apprehensive in his progressions. -The NFL officiating is at its most embarrassing point in history. -Seantrel Henderson is the worst offensive lineman I have ever seen pass-protection wise in my life. -Punting from midfield on fourth and short when you've inexplicably wasted two of your three timeouts, down 10 points with 8 minutes left in the game against a team you allegedly get more gratification from beating than anything either means youre clueless or you have no balls. 11. One guy that does not scare me in the least. I anticipate either Darby or Gilmore lining up across from him, and trust that both should shut him down with relative ease. Who covers Gronkowski interests me more (Not Nickel Robey, please!)
  12. The two darkhorses to watch for the **Pats tonight. I just fear that we'll be so focused on shutting down Gronk and Amendola that these two could have big night, and the last thing I want to hear from Torico and Gruden is how an ex Bill had the game of his life against his former squad (Chandler). Blount has historically had good games against us, and I truly believe Belichick will attempt to run the ball more with Dion Lewis and Edelman out. Hopefully Rex is prepared for both of these scenarios and doesn't over emphasize on shutting down Gronk. I get that that is the biggest key to a win, but Belichick will also get the most out of these two guys as well...
  13. Wouldn't exactly categorize 4 NFC Championship game appearances and a Super Bowl appearance as "doing nothing in the playoffs", but ok...
  14. Easily the most egotistical sports franchise of all time. I hope we kick the ever living s*it out if them! Just. Wow...
  15. What drives me nuts is not only the calls they get in their favor, but more-so the flags that get picked up. Utterly, blatantly ridiculous.
  16. LMFAO It would be unlikely that it would happen. But for example, the last time a 5-4 Bills team met and undefeated Pats team in primetime, we lost 56-10. If Rex got embarrassed that bad, and Brady threw for "800 yards"(sarcasm) Monday Night, I could see this kind of knee-jerk reaction coming from Rex.
  17. Thurman - 4 AFC Championships. LT - 0 AFC Championships. Thurmal all day. #WhatItDo
  18. Is Dennis Thurman out as Defensive Coordinator in favor of Rob Ryan?
  19. As I've stated in numerous threads this week, the Bills have a reputation, for whatever reason, of playing the *Pats closer at Gillette than at the Ralph. That being said, the result of the game is gonna stem from us staying healthy offensively, sustaining drives and protecting Tyrod Taylor. Predictability has also been a problem for us when facing these guys. We tend to get behind early (like most teams against them), panic and deviate from the game plan and attempt to often get in a shootout against these guys, which not just us, but nobody will ever win. Keeping the chains moving and not committing stupid penalties that puts us in 3rd and long situations must be avoided! Defensively, as I said before, press/man to man coverage, perhaps playing nickel and dime packages almost exclusively is a good idea. Make LeGarrett Blount beat us! And he may very well do that, but I trust the front seven to do it's job. When Brady passes, not giving Gronk a free release, getting our hands up if we can't get to Brady is a must. Bills will hang most of the game, but, as much as I hate to say it, New England always finds a way and makes the adjustments that a lot of other teams can't. Its astonishing that Brady, at his age, seems to be getting better, yet his long time rival, only a year older, Peyton Manning, seems to be on the decline. That being said... Patriots-34 Bills-24
  20. I truly believe that this is half of the aura of the New England Patriots. Are they a talented franchise? No question, from top to bottom. But, look at the game last week against the Giants. Previous to their defeat, Tom Coughlin's record against the **Pats was 6-1! That included two victories on the grandest stage of them all, SuperBowls XLII and XLVI, the first ending an undefeated and record-setting year for New England. And the Giants played that way! In fact, they're seemingly the only NFL team that doesn't get caught up and sucked into all of the "invincibility" references that surround the New England Patriots. They don't play intimidated! As far as other teams go, its almost as if they over-prepare and over think how to stop their offense. All the while, it also seems the rest of their opponents get away from the things they do well because of this. Rex has handled this week well, which I was not expecting. I'm hoping this isn't smoke and mirrors and the team actually does the same in its preparation. Are we sloppy at times? Yes. Are we undisciplined at times? Of course. But the team, when healthy, has shown glimpses of a playoff caliber team, and I believe that just sticking to the things we do well, in all three fazes, gives us a chance. Don't treat it like its the Super Bowl, treat it as a business trip. Is it more than that? Of course. Both to the fans and the team, but as we saw in week 2,the over hype and over thinking of the game plan left us flat footed. Do I expect a win? No. But stranger things have happened, especially in the NFL. We need to just shut up, show up, and be who we are. Not "who is supposed to be the team to beat the New England Patriots". Let the chips fall where they may... #GoBills
  21. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Chan Gailey probably felt the same way back in 2011...
  22. You do understand that not only will this never happen, especially on Rex's watch, but how much respect this franchise would lose as a result. And for that matter, how much respect you should lose for even having the audacity to call yourself a fan after a response like that? Wow... So what?! Gotta end at some point, right? And how fitting would it be that the team they've owned for nearly two decades is the very team that ends that run?
  23. I don't think any realistic fan is "expecting" the Bills to win. The Bills have, however, played the Pats tougher in Foxboro. And the Pats are without Edelman, Lewis and a good chunk of their o-line. Plus, we're getting healthier. Games gonna come down to three things: Rex's game plan vs. Belicheats game plan. How much pressure is put on Tom Brady. Who's covering Gronk. But hey, have you noticed that in a lot of these New England week threads and articles on this site what's NOT being talked about? OUR offense. Hopefully, all the talk about Brady and their offense combined with the lack of talk of our weapons on offense is a little extra motivation for Tyrod, Shady and Sammy. We ARE 4-1 when we have all three.
