  1. Let's face it, the last decade and a half, the Patriots have owned us. We know that. The players know that and the brass knows it. Since 2001, the Bills have fielded the following QBs against New England's ONE future hall of famer: Rob Johnson-0 wins vs. NE Drew Bledsoe- 1 win vs. NE J.P.Losman- 0 wins vs. NE Trent Edwards- 0 wins vs. NE Ryan Fitzpatrick- 1 win vs. NE EJ Manuel- 0 wins vs. NE Kyle Orton -1 win vs. NE (backups) Tyrod Taylor- 0 wins vs. NE The Patriots are a great franchise, make no mistake about it. Yes, they are not without controversy, but this kind of dominance gets into the head of an opponent after a while. It has to! Its not supposed to be this lopsided. Hell, even as inconsistent as the Jets and Dolphins have been over this span, they've even nabbed a few here and there against Brady and Belichick! For the most part, the Bills / Pats series in this span has been more competitive than you think. Though the majority of the decisions have gone to the evil empire, the Bills have actually played New England tough, and in fact, play them tougher in Foxborough! Yes, I am expecting more of the same unnecessary bravado from Rex this week. But for once, I'd just like him to shut up. To not put so much pressure on his squad with his words like he did in the meeting leading up to the week 2, "eat your damn words, we still own you" game at the Ralph. Look, I love Rex's confidence. But let's face it, over the years, more often than not, his team's haven't backed it up. This team has shown glimpses of brilliance, especially offensively, at times this year. They've also shown just how undisciplined, inept, lost and disappointing they can be, especially defensively! This is game NOBODY expects us to win. This is a game NOBODY will pick us to win! The very fact that we're only a 7 point dog in this game is astonishing enough given their dominance over us. Perhaps the injuries to Edelman and Dion Lewis contributed to this. This should be a week to just be quiet, go about our business, start fresh and forget about the past. Easier said than done, I know. But with the right mindset, with the right game plan, with the right preparation, anything's possible. The Packers lost at home to the 1-7 Lions... Ronda Rousey lost her 1st UFC fight... The previously unbeaten Bengals lost at home to TJ freakin' Yates and the Texans... Why stop there?!... #GoBills
  2. That Jacksonville game's gonna linger if we don't take care of our own business.
  3. If we're truly a playoff team, we beat Houston with TJ Yates at home. We beat a KC team without their best player, Jamal Charles. We beat the Jets at home, a division opponent and we beat a mediocre team in a terrible division, the Redskins in D.C. Yes, Dallas is better with Romo, but it is at the Ralph, where, again,IF we're a playoff team, we take care of business at home. Now, will any of this happen? That's a whole other story. The likelihood of beating New England in Foxborough is slim to none, but I'm just hoping we get outta dodge with no catastrophic injuries that'll hamper our chances down the stretch.
  4. Not necessarily. I wish that were the case, but Amendola has the potential to be just as versatile and deadly as Edelman. The short, underneath stuff has and will continue to be our Achilles heel until we find a way to stop it.
  5. Who's covering Gronkowski?... The only way we have a chance is our D-line getting to Brady early and often and rattle him. This certainly isn't the week for Rex to get cute with the exotic blitz schemes. Our front four, when healthy, are more than formidable, especially if they're all back and healthy, just let them do what they do well. It also helps that the New England offensive line is hurting and in makeshift situation. Brady's gonna get the ball out quick, so I'd play press coverage all night long! If the D-line fails to get to Brady, they need to get their hands up. Oh, and it'll also help us if the officials don't hold the Patriots hands up and down the field, like ya know, what seemingly happens every single time we play these dbags...
  6. Good one. I'm sure that'll resignate well on this board.
  7. Next Monday Night. The win that will define the next era of Bills football...
  8. Coming down the stretch, with virtually every remaining game being crucial, if something happened to Tyrod, I would take him back if he'd come out of retirement. He proved last year that he's not starter material, yes, but he was world's better than Manuel and Josh Johnson. Would you approve of this if it happened?
  9. ...and then we woke up lol... I'm with ya man. I could never envision a scenario where I'd route for them, or at least this present evil regime, even if it benefited us somehow. Which won't happen til Brady and or Belichick hang it up and they become terrible again, ala the Steve Grogan / Dick McPherson days lol. Eff them...
  10. If you thought Rex's sideline-gasm was laugh out loud entertaining against the Jets at MetLife, could you imagine his reaction if we won on national television against them?...
  11. Best case scenario is JPP gets his hand...on Tommy Boy and breaks both his legs! I usually don't route for injuries, except when it involves Tom Brady. He could get his brains blown out and I wouldn't bat an eyelash...
  12. Here me out. As much as we would love for the Pats to lose any week, as much as we all despise their very existence, if they do lose in the meadowlands to the Giants, would we not be running into a buzz saw the next week on MNF? Would we not want to be the 1 in 18-1? We do, for some odd reason, seem to play them tougher in Foxborough. It would almost be a case in point where they maybe would let their guard down against us after finally exercising the demon of the "Curse of Eli". We realistically don't have a shot at catching them in the division. Just thinking out loud here. Thoughts?
  13. We definitely need to get a better pass rush from the front four coming down the stretch as well. Mario, according to Rex, was sicker than a dog last night. But, hopefully, when the New England game rolls around, we'll have our d-line back at full strength. Including Kyle Williams, who, for whatever reason, seems to play out of his mind against the Pats! I'll take the "ugly" win, 5-4, 3-1 in the division and the 5 seed over what was eerily close to being an even uglier, season breaking loss any day of the week. Thanks tho...
  14. ...there are no "ugly" wins. Waking up this morning and reading some of the headlines, that word has been thrown around in abundance. Was it pretty? No. When you're offense goes nearly a full quarter without a first down, when you watch as your former quarterback, who by the way will never be anything more than average, just as his offensive coordinator will never be anything more than average, nearly brings the opposing team back from the depths of embarrassment to pull off a comeback that may very well have shattered your entire season, and it's a movie you've seen the ending to way too many times over the course of the last decade-and-a-half, any type of win you can get, especially in the division, and it puts you in the 5 seed this deep into the season, and puts you at 3-1 in the division all the while, is a good win. As far as Rex goes, look, the whole pomp and circumstance that accommodated this game, all things considered, wasn't that bad in my opinion. It actually could've been way more distracting to teams that we've fielded in previous years. But this group handled it with great poise and they should be commended for that. A coach who supposedly stayed in the locker room until, literally, minutes from kick off because he didn't want to make the game about him, sure made it way more about him, unintentional or otherwise. I'm glad we, and Rex, came out on top one way or another in this game. Because, if we didn't, the wheels would've flown off the season. Now, a few random thoughts: Kudos to the defense for rising to the occasion after the botched handling by Colton Schmitt. Our teams in previous years would've almost certainly layed down and conceded after such a 1993-Oiler-esque gaffe. Down the stretch, Greg Roman probably outta find some way to use Tyrod Taylor's mobility a bit more conscientiously, as I would rather not rest my team's playoff hopes on the likes of Josh Johnson, or that other guy who was so god-awful across the pond that he was a healthy scratch for this contest. Sammy Watkins may have only had three catches on Revis Island, but the end zone over Revis' head non-catch was a thing to behold. Hey, if the Odell Beckham d*ck riders can ramble on and on about his "almost" great catches, why can't we, right? In two years (if not sooner), Ronald Darby will be the top shut down corner in the league. What a find by Whaley! The sideline to sideline run plays called by Roman drive me nuts, even though they sometimes do have success. Just a pet-peeve of mine. All in all, I'm probably gonna savor this win until I squeeze every drop out of it for the next ten days, because a trip to Foxborough awaits. Buffalo, for whatever reason, seems to play better in New England than at home against the Pats. But I don't think it will matter, so I'll just choose to bask in this huge, division road win for now. After the Pats game, if we stay healthy, 11-5 or 10-6 shouldn't be that hard to obtain. Go Bills!
  15. Fitz is still nursing a bad throwing hand, so the secondary should get their opportunities. My fear (as with most weeks this season) Will be the increasingly embarrassing officiating, and the refs piling onto us, especially on a national stage. Its hard enough to beat a decent NFL team like the Jets and beat the officials, simultaneously... Jets-23 Beeews-16
  16. Naming IK Enempkali a captain for the game after stating that the Jets game is "just another game" is a complete "look at me" move! This is such a huge game for us, and while the points of emphasis should be on cleaning up the penalty issues and gameplanning against one of the best defenses in football on a short week, Rex just seemingly can't help himself. Enempkali was signed purely out of spite by Rex Ryan. He then saw that IK was not good enough, cut him, then re-signed to the Practice Squad. Now, he's a "Captain" for a game that just so happens to be the team who cut him for breaking their quarterback's jaw?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but when a team names a Captain, isn't there supposed to be some sort of honor and responsibility associated with that title, rather than just trolling somebody? This team is 4-4. While the win against Miami was satisfying, any fan who isn't blind and naive can identify the shortcomings, sloppiness and undisciplined play that will inevitably cost this team the postseason. Rex Ryan has proved in the past that he can be successful in this league. But he's also had years where his coaching mirrored his team's play on the field: That of a dumpster fire! Rex stated this is his last stop as an NFL head coach. Maybe it's just more bravado. But, if he means it, shouldn't he be taking things a little more seriously around here? A place who's franchise has missed the playoffs 15 straight seasons?...
  17. All I'm saying is that after 8 games, we've beaten 4 teams we should've beaten, and lost at least 2 games because of this crap. This team, when healthy, is as talented as any in the league. But if the penalty issue is not addressed, this will be the reason we don't make the playoffs. Mark my words...
  18. Good win today. But again, I fear that the undisciplined play of this team will cost us what we've been waiting for for 15 seasons. We can get away with this type of stuff against a team like Miami, but what happens in two weeks against the Pats in Foxborough? Or even Thursday against the Jets who have been playing well? The offense had and exceptional day today, don't get me wrong, but the unnecessary, inexplicable mistakes by this team really worries me coming down the stretch. Spero Dedes and Solly even made it a point in the CBS telecast today that neither Rex nor the players even addressed the penalty issue during the bye week. As I said, there are teams we can overcome this kind of stuff against (Miami), and there are those coming down the stretch that we won't (Pats, Dallas w/ Romo). This HAS to be corrected if we realistically have a shot in the AFC.
  19. Just a thought, and I hope I'm wrong and Tyrod and the 2015 squad can turn it around starting this week. But Tyrod's instinct to scramble combined with a knee injury that he just suffered and might linger the more he does run. Kaepernick has ties and has had success with Greg Roman. If we miss the playoffs for a 16th season and Taylor doesn't work out and show signs, consistently and stay healthy, I could see this happening realistically as Kaep appears to be done in Santa Clara. Again, I hope I'm wrong, because Colin seems to have regressed to a point of no return watching his games this season. If this does happen, I fear this sets us back at least another five years, if not more. As always, your thoughts are appreciated. #GOBILLS
