  1. Anyone recall all of those paid advertisements the NFL televised during commercial breaks in 2014 regarding "No More" Domestic Violence starring NFL players? Goodell is a complete joke!
  2. He was the cover boy one year for season ticket sales. Yes, this actually happened...
  3. In years past, when the bye week came, I don't know about you, but it was an empty feeling of not watching my Bills take the field. Even though the previous years ended similarly to one after the other, it seemed like when the bye week rolled around, there was always that glimmer of hope that kept us all hooked that things would turn out favorably for us (even though they haven't). This year, it was different for me. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm as much of a die-hard, devoted long time Bills fan as many of you are, but after the London debacle, coupled with going 1-3 in our first four home games, I actually can say for the first time in a long time, I genuinely enjoyed the break! It was nice to just relax, watch my NFL Sunday Ticket all day and evening, and not have to worry about my blood pressure being driven up by incompetent play calling, mounting injuries to more key players, or abysmal NFL officiating. It was relaxing. It was peaceful. And I can only hope that the week off helped our Bills not only get healthy, but gain some perspective on the task at hand. Hopefully, this Sunday at the Ralph against Miami, we see a different team. A healthier team. A more DISCIPLINED team then the one we left across the pond in week 7. Hopefully, the Bills also recognize the following: -Nobody in the division is going to realistically challenge the Patriots. I despise this more than anything, but it's reality. -You cannot defeat an NFL team AND the officials at the same time. Yes, the word is out about our lack of discipline. Its not a conspiracy. Its a fact! The refs are watching us more than anybody. Be smart, be focused. -EJ Manuel was once the third QB on the depth chart for a reason. That was made abundantly clear against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He will be out of football period within 3 years. Find another option for "plan B" if you're going to rely on "plan A" running every chance he gets. if not, the season is shot. Yes, I understand that the FA QB crop is slim pickins. But EJ Manuel is one of the worst quarterbacks I have ever seen. EVER! With everything that went down in week 8 in the AFC, were still not in a bad spot as far as the playoffs go. But this needs to be a completely different team in virtually every aspect if we realistically have a shot. GO BILLS!
  4. I truly believe that on Sunday, we find out, in week 6 of the 2015 NFL season, if this is "Same old Bills", or if "this thing on? cuz it's about to be on, cuz we're goin'(to the playoffs). In recent year, probably the last five or so, around this point in the year has seemed to be the turning point of this team's season (and, yes, I realize the turning point has been south ). I think back to 2008, the Bills were fresh off a convincing home win against the San Diego Chargers (some of you may remember this as the "lights out" game, when some sort of a flotation device his a transformer at the Ralph, delaying the game significantly). The Bills had a 5-1 record heading into a showdown with the eventual NFC champion Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, when one Adrian Wilson shellac on Trent Edwards sent Buffalo's season into a tailspin. 2011- Ryan Fitzpatrick leads the Bills back from a 21-0 deficit against Tom Brady and the evil empire, ending a streak of 8 seasons of being the Patriots' personal doormats, And we were treated to a 3-0 start. Surely, after that, the playoff drought would end, right?...The next week, Buffalo would lay an egg in Cincy, dropping 10 of its remaining 13 games. In 2010, Buffalo came off a fresh beat down in Toronto (it's only win north of the border, by the way, in our "home away from home", the Rogers Centre), a 23-0 victory over the Washington Redskins to move to 5-2. The next week, Buffalo was dismantled in Dallas, and again, the wheels came off. The Bills would win only one of their remain in games, finishing 6-10 after such a promising start. This year, we sit at 3-2, with the undefeated Bengals coming to town, our stadium. A stadium, by the way, we're 1-2 in this year. A place, once upon a time, nobody could touch us in! What happens if we lose sunday? Do we go to London and, rather than get back above .500, drop and embarrassing defeat to the lowly Jags? Do the wheels come off again?! If we win, and if we do, it'll be the biggest if the year so far, do we have a letdown next week, and the wheels come off again, anyways? Let me tell you something: This team IS better than the Cincinnati Bengals! Our squad has so many shortcomings and injuries and penalty issues, but at the end of the day, the talent on this roster, even if EJ Manuel is the quarterback Sunday, exceeds that of its opponent on Sunday. The Bengals, no matter what point in the year, eventually become "the Bengals" at some point. Booker Esiason isn't taking the snaps, Icky Woods and James Brooks aren't in the backfield carving up run-defenses, and Sam Wyche isn't the offensive guru on the sidelines. ITS INEVITABLE with this version of Cincinnati, that at some point, THEIR wheels will come off! Why not Sunday? So Rex, stop with the bravado. Shut the hell up, field whatever QB you're fielding, and let's show us, the fans, that it's different now. Because, to this fan, until you show me otherwise, I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop. #GoBills
  5. I'm just as happy that this team's 3-2 as the next fan. 3-2 is better than 2-3 any day of the week, no matter how ugly it was. But, with the toughest part of our schedule upcoming, it's important that this team recognizes its biggest issue at this point (besides leading the league in penalties, and it's not even close) the play of this offensive line. The play of Seantrel Henderson on Sunday left a lot to be desired, however, he's not the only problem. How this coaching staff neglects to recognize the fact that, in order to keep Tyrod from running for his life and inevitably getting injured (there has already been a few close calls with Tyrod the last two weeks), why not keep a running back or two, or an extra tight end to assist these God awful tackles to block the better defensive ends that we will be facing in the coming weeks, Does Rex /Roman not see or recognize this?! Sure, we'll be getting our weapons back soon, but if Taylor doesn't have the time he needs to read his progressions, it's not going to matter, and will only lead to other injuries not only to him, but his arsenal as well. This offensive line has been getting embarrassed lately, not just by penalties, but pass /run blocking that leaves a lot to be desired. Just hoping that this is addressed and adjustments are made, so this team can actually stay healthy down the stretch and make a serious run at the postseason. O-line play is often overlooked And overshadowed by the skill positions, but right now, it's a big problem! #GoBills
  6. ^^This. We're all aware of where we stand in the conference, etc. But to blatantly ignore the hellacious disciplinary problems of its team and, furthermore, the coach promoting it, is terrifying...
  7. Sarcasm, implied (for the most part, lol). Also, since when did it become okay to instruct a punt returner to fair catch at the 10 yard line and back? This happened at least four times yesterday, resulting in awful field position.
  8. Very clear that Coughlin's/Spagnola's game plan was to take Karlos Williams out of the game and make Tyrod try to beat them through the air. Sometimes less is more as far as game planning and Rex should take a page out of Coughlin's/Belichick's playbooks in the future. Really appears (especially defensively) like he's over scheming at times. The absences of Watkins and Shady McCoy hurt more than we all thought they would (myself included). It's clear that when both are healthy, the other position players are nothing more than complimentary. I do think Karlos will be the feature back in Buffalo in the future, but when healthy, LeSean McCoy can make chicken salad out of chicken $h!t as far as sub-par offensive line play goes, while Williams relys pretty much on being a smash-mouth, north-south runner. If Shady's ever healthy again here, he and Karlos would probably be in the top tier of RB duos in this league, taking some pressure off Tryod. The goal line play calling in two consecutive red-zone possessions, coming away with zero points, was about as busch-league as it gets from Greg Roman. I still firmly believe Roman is a great offensive coordinator, but yesterday, I'm not quite sure what he was thinking down there. It's said that as the field gets shorter, the harder it is to get in the end zone, but come on, its not like the Giants were fielding the '85 Bears out there... Eli Manning may never put up the stats that Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady or even his older brother will. But there's a reason he's a two time SuperBowl champion. He's one of the most cerebral players, not just quarterbacks, players in the NFL. As short of a time as they've been together, the Giants offensive line is just plain good. When you can keep our front four at bay all afternoon as they did, you deserve a hat tipped in your direction. We got the Supe Bowl XXV vignette treatment from the FOX production crew as well as a condescending comment or two afterward from Moose and Kenny Albert that followed. As I'm sure, this week, the CBS crew will dig up the ol Music City Miracle footage from our last playoff appearance. I've said it before and I'll say it again, both of these memories don't hurt this fan as much as it does making the networks look tasteless and unoriginal. Freshen up the material, networks. Lastly, the penalties, and Rex Ryan's postgame comments. I cannot remember the last time I saw one NFL team commit that many in one game. It's been done, but I've watched games where both teams involved don't commit that many infractions COMBINED. Yes, there were several calls that were borderline, in fact, the majority were petty (this is just my opinion). I have no opinion either way as far as whether or not the league officials "have it out for us", as Kyle Williams is implying, but after a day like that, where so many calls were going against us and the Giants were doing the same types of things (push offs, hand checking down the field, etc.), it does make one wonder... Rex saying he's "proud" of his team yesterday is downright assanine. This is why Rex Ryan is who he is and why Bill Belichick is who he is. And even though his squad was victorious, what do you think Tom Coughlin's will be saying to his team about the 11 penalties his team committed? The word "proud" won't be used, I can assure you of that. Rex saying he's proud of anything yesterday is embarrassing to not only fans, but his players. Even without the penalty catastrophe yesterday, the team was flat as a pancake. That team wouldn't have beaten a division II college team with that effort yesterday. Rex, you said it yourself, this is your last stop as an NFL head coach. These are not things an NFL coach says to his team. The message you send to them after 17 penalties, horrendous play calling and heinous tackling is "proud"?! If so, I shutter to think what ma become of this once promising season. I understand, just as after a win, this was only one game. But to deliver a message like that is like telling a child you're proud of them for for the C- they got on their test. This is a franchise that has missed the playoff 15 years and counting. If it's not acceptable to a fan that your team commits 17 penalties, you sure as hell shouldn't be telling your own team that your " proud" of them. Did you hear the reaction of the Bills fans inside Ralph Wilson Stadium yesterday afternoon? Are you "proud" of that?...
  9. The only chant I'm interested in chanting is after the game, and that's "Beat Down City B word"! #GoBills
  10. Edelman caught 11 last week. Not an elite receiver. Product of the system. Sammy needs to hold up his end, though we are only one game into the season. I have faith it will come. A lot has to do with gameplans vs. certain teams, also. If the Bills face a good pass defense, the philosophy will be to run the ball more. If the opponent has a better run defense, we will throw more. Its not like we have Aaron Rodgers distributing the ball, we still don't know what Tyrod brings consistently yet.
  11. If so, apologies. Hadn't came across a different one yet. I find it sort of hilarious. Fear and desperation by doing this by the evil empire.
  12. Had former Bills RB Bryce Brown in for a workout Friday. This concerns me minimally, seeing how A.) Bryce was 4th string on the depth chart and B.) fumbled like it was a bodily function. Just my opinion. Any concern from other fans if he's signed?
  13. Steelers, no question. I cannot nor will I ever bring myself to route for a disgraceful, crooked organization that's gotten away with so much, blatantly did what they've done, lied about it and then gotten away with it. That being said, it astounds me THAR the loss of Dick LeBeau and Troy Poalumalu had this much impact on an organization that has historically trademarked itself on its defense. They are a bad unit, and it scares me to say Gisele's husband and company might put up a 50-burger amongst the pomp and circumstance of their "championship"*****...celebration. 😞😞😞
  14. BILLS 20 COLTS 6 Both the Ralph and the defense will be on fire. No way, not even Andrew Luck, comes in here on opening day against this defense and even puts up one TD. Not really knowing what to expect from this offense with a talented-albeit-inexperienced new starting qb, so I think 20 is a fair prediction for us. #GoBills
  15. If the Bills signed Michael Vick the lid would blow off the fan base with excitement. Is he as good as he was in '04 with Atlanta? Absolutely not. Not what I'm trying to say. But he would make all three qbs we have now look Busch league. Just his football I.Q. alone would make me feel better heading into the season. Plus, Greg Roman made Kaepernick look like a God in this offense three years ago and led SF to an NFC Championship. Vick and Shady could be deadly in this offense!
  16. Not saying Vick is the answer. I'm saying he's a proven veteran that's worth a look on a team that has no QB. Would it make sense for a team like New England, Denver or Seattle to sign him other than as a backup? No, bc all those teams have a proven starter. Yes, Vick may be a "bad" quarterback. Or maybe it was the talent (or lack there of) in New York that made him look that way. Tell me you wouldn't feel more comfortable with a veteran, proven winner with playoff experience at quarterback week one vs. Andrew Luck as opposed to one of these three trainwrecks. It could fail. But what if it didn't? ...
  17. Someone still needs to explain to me what it would hurt anything to bring in a Mike Vick. Yes, Rex stated that he's not a good "bad weather" quarterback. But it's August and evident that none of the guys we're fielding are even any good in nice weather. Our defense has the potential to be one of the best ever, according to HOF former Bill Bruce Smith. You have a veteran, playoff experienced QB in Vick just sitting out there, and it's not worth kicking the tires on a guy like that? Seriously, why not? Did Vick really leave that bad an impression on Red with the Jets that he's willing to field one of these three embarrassments during the season?! I'm sorry, and there's always a few of you that will tell me I'm wrong just to do so, but Vick is an instant upgrade at the position Just with him applying ink to a contract here. This is a fact. Red shouldn't allow his stubbornness and/or defensive "mindset" separate this team from serious playoff contention and 8-8. *Rex (damn autocorrect)
  18. We knew that when the Rex hire took place, that the ballyhoo of bolstering and meaningless guarantees would follow. It comes with Rex's gimmick he carried in New York. But everything that's followed since is something that die-hard Bills fans and their under-the-radar, blue collar low-profile lifestyles are unaccustomed to. Many Bills fans over the years, especially during this decade and a half playoff drought (myself included) have been discouraged of the lack of media attention on our team. In previous years, any time you tuned in to NFL Network or ESPN or otherwise, it was always a Patriot/ Cowboy/ Jets lovefest. Where was talk of our team? It seemed like nobody gave the Bills any attention or recognition of any kind. The reason: Probably because, even in those handful of years that we showed promise after the first month of those given seasons (see 2003, 2008, 2011, 2014..forgive me if I'm leaving any years out), it was as if the media knew how this movie had ended, or maybe it was because Buffalo was so far under the radar geographicaly. Either way, the media was justified after week 17 of any given year, as much as we hated to admit it. Now, before you blast this post with the usual, unoriginal "who cares what the media thinks of the Bills"...admit it...we all care, even if it's a little bit. We're all sick of hearing about the Patriots, Belichick, Brady and Drunk Bobby Kraft year in and year out. But this year's different. The Bills have wrapped up year 15 of their playoff drought. The NFL'S longest. And yet, with the influx of a head coach, who already has a reputation of not putting his money where his mouth is and piles on with decorating his pick-up truck in bills colors, and wears Super bowl XXV Thurman Thomas jerseys to scouting combines, constantly taking jabs at a franchise that he barely can even have bragging rights against (NE), combined with the trade that sent a promising, albeit injury proned linebacker for a game changing, albeit horny partyguy what apparently can't use a hatchback cartoon Buffalo logo that may or may not be farting to lure drinking- aged girls. We've also acquired a talented, game changing WR in Percy Garvin, whose known primarily as a locker room cancer and Brett Favre's post-game "Pants on the Ground" reference. In the midst of all this, the Bills are front page news once again. While I'm hoping, as we all are, that this talented group can finally get us over the hump, this biggest fear of this fan is that who's behind center, may ultimately make us a laughing stock. The QB issue is so questionable, in fact, that it makes this fan wish that the media would once again treat us as an afterthought. But, in Rex we trust. We have no choice... GO BILLS!!!
