  1. Actually I felt Peters handled it in a very professional way. He did not whine to the media, he did nothing but follow his agents advice. He was being underpaid, that is fact. He did what you do with your lawyer or accountant - listen to their professional advice and heed it. He was not a B word about it at all which I thought was laudable. And his agent turned out to have played it perfectly for him. To the benefit of the Eagles and our detriment. But I do not see him as a malcontent or bad guy.
  2. Or the memo that despite the golden opportunity to put 2 disruptive DEs in the mix, helping the safetys make plays, we got his replacement at FS and a part-timer at DE, plus Kelsay/Shobel. Or the memo that says, DJ is still the head coach.
  3. The Santoras on main street was gone last time I was in Buffalo. Very disappointing we used to get lunch there, daily, in high school. That said, I and a frend of mine from Buffalo get Anchor BAr sauce shipped here (to asia) and the wings are still great with that sauce! A little blue cheese with mayo and minced garlic, some celery... Damn.
  4. Wow, Tim, you are the greatest and this is the greatest thread ever. Now that we have just about finished discussing the Sopranos, can we move on to Love Boat or maybe, General Hospital? I'll start - Captain Stuebing was not really bald, that is makeup covering a full rug!
  5. And, one injured TE My prediction - 7 -9 season AND we retain DJ. Futility begetting futility. And TE will suffer a concussion within the first 3-4 games, leaving us with Futz. An Irishman leaves this bar, see.... could happen....
  6. No one need apply except DBs
  7. Plus an early pick on an undersized DB guy that is too slow to play his college position in the NFL. Gotta love that too, bills FO sticking to their guns.
  8. If D Bell is as dedicated and serious (as an athlete, not a father!) as his father, he could be ready this year even.
  9. if D Bell can replace Walker as a starter sometime during the campaign and produce, the bills may have a young line that can be intact for many years. That would be sweet. For this year though I think Peters will be missed more than you may think; Walker just does not have LT physique.
  10. I have alwasy been a Jays fan, since the early 90s Cito Gaston teams won a couple of titles. Hate the red sox and all things Boston. Mets over Yanks, for sure, Doc Gooden was too much fun.
  11. For this year, I would be satisfied to be just good. Sadly, it will mean another couple years of futility after that, as it will give RW an excuse to hold on to DJ for another couple of years. Maybe the best thing, and I hate to say it, would be for a terrible start to the season, show DJ the door, and bring in someone who can coach the team up to playoff and then championship level.
  12. So far there is not even the building part intact. Forget the playoffs until we have new coaching. If we happen to fluke in a la the 2001 Bears, count your blessings. Bounced from the playoffs would be an incredible result for this season.
  13. This is the point, right here. And, I CAN imagine a scenario where both MAybin and Byrd do not pan out. Maybin is a little undersized, and Byrd, is not a safety....
  14. I think you are his only supporter, and NOONE thinks he is "That good a coach".
  15. Thanks that is exaclty what I meant when I posted the quotes
  16. You make valid points. Especially, and I will never understand this, since thes players clearly can afford a taxi or a limo or even a full time driver. Why chance it and risk your life and that of others? In this case, others, sadly.
  17. He will be in the field by mid November. JMO
  18. Can someone please kick him in the balls very hard? "They've worked awfully hard and they need to get away, they need some rest, they need some relaxation," Jauron said. "They have to stay on top of everything and that, essentially, was our message to them. Stay fit, stay in your books, you have to know what's going on and you have to come back ready to go. We've made a lot of progress, but we certainly have a long way to go." "We play in a very tough league and a very, very tough division. It's really exciting when you look at the team and you look at it develop over time and I'm looking forward to this year, looking forward to our preparation and that opening game. To open on a Monday Night is huge for us and huge for our fans. It'll be a huge test for our football team and hopefully it'll help us get ready. Not that you need any more motivation for an NFL season, but to open on Monday Night to a division rival and a very, very talented team, is a great challenge for us." --
  19. We need a pass rush. We have a strong secondary, which would be made only stronger with... a pass ruch. We could have had 2 of the top 3 pass rushing prospects in the draft. Now, stuck with Mr. "would be qb pressure" Kelsay. Really, very sad.
  20. Chicago in the summertime, San Fran maybe also, compares. Boston, Newport, anywhere in Florida, San Diego, Santa Barbara, do not compare to the beauty of Western new York in summer and fall. Jesus, San Diego is an effing hellhole, Boca full with tweakers and highly visible displays of mans disregard for our envirnment, these are terrible places. Unreal you could even begin to compare. Santa Barbara inland is ok but it rarely rains and the beach is dirty dirty dirty.
  21. Buffalo is an outstanding, great, great town. Sadly, weather and dearth of jobs keep most away. If you are not a university professor... I have never understood where the economic engine in Buffalo is. But in terms of people, and natural beauty, Buffalo is unparreleled in the USA. Wish I could live there again. Gone since 1986, back every year for a couple days, very sentimental.
