  1. Small world! I graduated with his younger brother, Tim. We used to hang a lot before he moved our west. Great guy 👍
  2. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=51185 Yeah, he was a freshman at BC in 2000 and graduated in 2004 so you probably didn’t know him. He was a year behind me in school, but left to play prep hockey/USA development team after his sophomore year. I honestly don’t remember much about my visits to BC 😂. My sister was living in Brookline with my future BIL, and we went over to visit JD a couple times. I do remember going to some house parties and hitting up some bars. Fun times for sure. My friend, Scott Padlick, also went to BC. He was a couple years older than me.
  3. Pretty sure law enforcement, corrections and fire fighters also qualify for PSLF, but sounds like you are all set 👌
  4. October 2016. Buffalo @ Miami. The wife and I went down and stayed with some friends in West Palm and went to the game. I forget the specifics, but it was a sloppy loss to a particularly bad Miami team. The Dolphins fans were the absolute worst “away” fans I have ever experienced. Constant harassment throughout the game, and there were quite a few Bills fans there. After the game, we were walking to the car and some a-hole randomly ran up and punched my friend’s wife right in the face and then sprinted away. There was security like 30 yards away that witnessed the incident and did absolutely nothing. It was such a helpless, horrible feeling.
  5. No shite! A HS friend of mine, JD Forrest, played hockey there for 4 years and won the natty in 2001 (I believe his senior season). I visited there a couple times and partied with the hockey team. Good times. AWESOME campus.
  6. I just received the letter today confirming that the remaining ~35K of my federal student loans have been forgiven after applying for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. I finished my PhD program with just north of 120K in federal/private student loans (my folks didn’t pay for any of my education), and have been paying them off diligently for over 15 years. This is HUGE for my family, as my monthly student loan payment was almost $1000/month before my final consolidation. I was eligible because I had made at least 120 payments while being employed by public school districts. Was anyone else able to take advantage of this program? If so, cheers 🍻
  7. HOW DARE you, sir!? I spent a lot of time coming up with this (humble brag) genius idea. Joke?? 😤
  8. You’re lucky you didn’t go to his house. He would have put you down in a hole in his basement and then peeled your skin off and made a funny hat with it.
  9. I would love to give you a noogie and stuff you in a gym locker.
  10. Were you there when he shot his wiener off in the club? 😆
  11. The NBA is brutally boring, IMO. It’s a sport that has been completely neutered in terms of defense and physicality. Like every game is an all-star game. I was a 76ers fan back in the day. I couldn’t name a single player on the roster today. Thank goodness for hockey.
  12. Well, only partly but I’m totally serious about this. Got any?
  13. For every Cody Ford there is a Wyatt Teller. For every Boogie Basham there is a Matt Milano. Would you rather have one Boogie Basham or three Matt Milanos? The math seems simple to me. Step into my office.
  14. Irregardless, I could care less about a player’s character at this point. If they’re drafted in the first two rounds they better damn well be more than average rotational players. Quantity is usually better than quality in the long run. It’s like a buddy of mine. When we used to go out chasing the ladies he would hit on every single girl in the bar. He always took one home. Now, sometimes the girl looked like Abe Vigota, but that’s beside the point. She was a starter, mabden. A real plug and play starter. You feel me?
  15. Is it wrong to dream? If we didn’t have dreamers in this world, Herb, we wouldn’t have things like the electric car, space travel, and crotch wigs. Give me 6-7 picks in rounds 3 through 5 all day long. Beane will find 4-5 immediate plug and play starters. Book it.
  16. What’s the difference between a chick pea and a garbanzo bean? I’ve never paid extra to have a garbanzo bean on me. Tip your servers, folks. Like and subscribe.
  17. It’s all about playing the odds, really. Say we could get some team’s 3rd, 4th & 5th for our 1st round pick, and then someone’s 4th, 5th & 7th for our 2nd round pick. That’s 6 picks in those middle rounds. That’s guys like Taron Johnson, Wyatt Teller, Gabe Davis and Matt Milano. I sure wouldn’t hate that. The proof is in the pudding, folks!
  18. Well, name recognize name, @BIGBOY. My takes tend to be bizarre in general. I doubt I will ever make it to the bigs, but if you plant corn you tend to GET corn. Nah-mean?
  19. Just think of gaining 5-6 starters who are high motor, lunch pail guys. Versus two pre-madonnas that Beane totally whiffs on. I’m just connecting the dots here.
  20. Alright, hear me out. Brandon Beane has proven that he can’t consistently hit on 1st/2nd round picks. Let’s be honest. We are going to have a lot of holes to fill after the FA bloodbath. Since Beane tends to hit on mid-late round prospects, let’s trade out of the 1st and 2nd round altogether. Accumulate as many 3rd-5th round picks as possible. Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think in the comments. Like and subscribe.
  21. Not really famous I guess, but I went to HS with one of the “suitcase girls” from Deal or No Deal. I think she’s still modeling. She grew up down the street from me and I was good friends with her older brother. I saw her at a wedding in California about 10 years ago. Still absolutely gorgeous at 40. https://instagram.com/mskellybrannigan?igshid=NDk5N2NlZjQ=
