So all of this boils down to the quality of our performance evaluation at the position, eh?
-
No. I was mocking the take of what talent evaluation was and how it's subjective. Imo keeping younger talent on the roster to develop with an embedded starting QB, and skill players... That's when I value building the trenches with youth. We did that with the DL and didn't choose well, though I am not that disappointed with AJE. But, pulling back up to the top: veteran signings were weak. Harty, Sherfield, Arizona linebacker dude, etc... and then pulling in the line specifically we didn't do well we had Felciano, Saffold, and some others I can't even remember but were poor choices. Bates was the only one I thought was worthy. Boettiger, and others - not so much. Edmunds was a bit of a whiff and over draft. I can't remember nor do I have the time to go through the OL we brought in but there were a few vets that were barely JAGS to take depth roles over youth. I can look them up later Those are just the veterans. We tried to keep others in here that I just don't think we need and I've always been concerned we use two depth positions at LB exclusively for ST'ers.

Oh, please do not believe I am thinking that players leave here and become all stars. Unless you count Justin armour, kamar Aiken, Chris Hogan, Harrison phillips, Tremaine Edmonds, Ray Ray McCloud, Dustin hopkins, jabari Greer, that wild goose kid.... Those are immortal Stars that cannot be refuted 😜

I've always been on a build from the inside out train. I didn't want scrubs like Sherfield or Harty here. I didn't want to overspend on JAG WRs. Josh can make decent WR's good. But not midgets. I didn't like signing Felciano, he was a wannabe brute but he was tougher than the candy asses we had. I did not like saffold. I thought Bates was the good swing interior guy, and wanted youth over older vets at the time we were growing and lowladed at other talent. Include the evaluation of veterans and we have been sub par.

The NFL is and has been moving slowly toward the NBA trend for a while. 30 years ago they'd call false start for a lineman moving his head. Now they turn around. Look around, point and only for the split second before the snap is there a "set" designation for the alignment. This, as well as the picks, offensive push offs, defensive holding are major problems newer to the game. Holding has always been there and the best OL hold almost every single play.

They all should be insulted. They're all trash and the poor children have to deal with these folks as parents.

?? I was never wrong about Milano. I said he was better and more important to the team than Edmunds. Spector, Edmunds, Joseph, a few others im forgetting

I was not wrong

if we had kept Teller and Van Roten and evaluated LB's properly in the draft we might not have needed to use resources on the line we have now. just sayin.

the big 10 is on par with the SEC. the ACC, however is far below both. the PAC was better than the ACC -
the ball can only be thrown by the opposite predominant arm. only 11 yards can be gained on any down.

it's subtle. IMO. sure, it's true that both have their slouches but there is something to it when teams like Penn State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, MSU, Purdue, and Illinois just play hard every year. they still get far better recruits than the likes of bottom tier SEC. Maryland is still talented and fast from their ACC traits. Minnesota has a good bite on them. Both of these teams can hurt you. Rutgurs and Indiana are the only perennial slouches. -
the lions: top 6 WR (Diggs is 😎 top 7 RB (Cook is 2) top 4 TE (Kincaid 15, Knox barely top 50) top 3 QB (Allen is 8th) supporting case on the lions is far less impressive than the BIlls.

have to go to your backup QB in OT. Remove one lineman for both teams, and 1 safety/1 WR

You should know the drill. It's a game. There are not truly any rules. You can buy, sell, or hold on any player, personnel package, group, unit, coach, driver, referee, umpire, owner, stadium, weather event, or pokemon. When you buy - you are simply buying that you believe there is room for grow and gain value. it could be when the value is low so you buy low and hope it gets better, it could be that the stock is soaring and you want more! Sell: you're done with it, you don't want it. maybe it's at it's lowest and you can't stomach losing anymore. Maybe it is sell while the value is high. Hold: you think it has value, you think it's got a bad reputation and really going to turn it around. you think maybe it'll get better and she will call you after you gave her your number 3 weeks ago and she just misplaced it while dreaming about you every night. Me? Buy: Knox. i don't think he can get any less of value and i want to buy low because i know he is better than what we have been witness to the last few seasons. Sell: selling high folks, i want to get maximum value while the iron is hot: James Cook. let me cash that in and retire. Hold: Dawkins - he has been playing well but he tends to have a let down game here or there. i'm hoping it never comes. Hold (tie): J.Phillips - he hasn't been the same, nor has Lawson. but they have both been offering a little bit more each week. i think both of these guys can offer something in the post season.

i came in pessimistic. i am still there with some happiness in some areas. i thought Poona Ford would contribute more than he did. i thought Bernard was getting handed more than he could hold. i reckon i'm wrong on both.

They're not relevant -
Hockey rules 10 min ot. 2 timeouts. No reviews. If an injured player stops the clock the team can either use a to or he cannot return to the game. If 3 players do this the third player is removed and a to taken.

the SEC is kind of like that dweeb in HS who drove an Dodge Ram 3500 diesel because he had nothing else to offer but having a "truck." the SEC is all image. outside of Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama who are usually always a top 20 team - the rest is just a mix of nobodies. When you can play Missouri, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and more you just beat the piss out of nobody teams. -
if the offense scores a TD on the opening drive does that take away the chance for the kicking team in OT from possesing the ball?
