No CB in Draft? — No Problem or No, Problem?
chris heff replied to RJ (not THAT RJ)'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m okay with either Sherman or Gaines. I can’t get past Norman getting destroyed by Derrick Henry. -
We often hear about coverage sacks. You are correct the inverse of coverage sack is also true.

What a nice problem to have. -
I like the draft being a three day event, yes the production can be annoying (see commissioner’s leather chair), but it is less tedious that the Saturday marathon used to be. I watched NFL Network live (mostly) and recorded ESPN and ABC, only watched Bills picks on the latter two. Before Bills first pick Mel Kiper said Allen had to be both QB and RB, which tells me he never watched Bills. Since we actually watched the Bills you will recall that after about the forth game Allen pretty much stopped running the ball. Kiper also said Allen was like a single wing QB, which shows how little he knows about football. Having played in a single wing, the QB is the equivalent of today’s H back, mostly a blocker. Ball is snapped to the tailback in the shotgun. How do these guys have jobs?

Best 5 Offensive Lineman Could Be Interesting

Epenesa had a weird year, no OTAs, no training camp, lost weight, gained weight, he got better as year went on. Rousseau throwing around 300 pound guards when he was 19 isn’t nothing. He could be disruptive lining up inside on occasion. Basham is more ready to contribute. He retired -

I thought Lamp had rough rookie year, 2018, down the depth chart after minor knee surgery. Followed by a broken leg in 2019. Last year he started all 16 games. -

Starting five could be Dawkins, Lamp, Morse, Feliciano and Williams. Has Ford really shown anything? They have tried him at three different positions. He could get traded before the season starts. -

It is not unusual, at least where I live. And it isn’t just retirees. In fact there is a very wealthy family in Boca Raton that are huge Bills fans. -

Thought Lamonica trade was a good idea. Liked hiring of John Rauch. Vince Ferragamo was a good pick up. Wanted Flutie over Smith. Need I continue? -

I thought EJ was the guy and took way too long to give it up. -
Honey Badger was drafted.

The Bills are the team to beat in the division. If the defense improves, which I think they will, they will be a tough out. Patriots problem is Belichick still thinks it was him and not Brady. Their free agency spending spree smacks of panic. Last Alabama QB I worried about in our division was Namath. Dolphins are going to live or die with Tua, is anyone afraid of him? Last year’s FA blew up on them, those were bad personnel decisions. Jets swapped Darnold for Darnold 2.0. Rookie coach, rookie coordinators. I’m not worried.

How did our division get a ton better? One of the people on NFL Network said Dolphins had great first round. Dolphins Had two first round picks. Waddle looks like solid pick and fills a need. Jaelan Phillips is confusing, first edge rusher taken. He played two years at UCLA and retired from football in 2018 (concussions) and left UCLA. Transferred to Miami and played during weird 2020 season. Isn’t there red flags there? As for the rest of AFC East, Jets replaced Sam Darnold with Sam Darnold. Patriots? Mac Jones? Who knows?
