  1. Northern California in the lead...Oakland, Danville, "NorCal" and.... Santa Rosa, CA
  2. Everyone I know that frequent's Willi's loves it. I haven't been inside. The people I know that go there, aren't the kind of people I want to hang out and have a drink and eat tapas with. I don't mean that in a bad way. i have some very pretentious friends who love that place. I just imagine it being crowded w/ those type of people. I'm probably wrong, but I get that vibe from everyone I that goes there. Ok, this is going to sound bad, but I'm not a big fan of the person that owns the Farmhouse Inn either. I went to school w/ her from early on thru high school. Total b###h to everyone that wasn't in her economic class. She runs a first class establishment though that's world renowned. Even though it's down the road, I have stayed at the Vintner's Inn (Holiday party & free room). Outstanding establishment and the rooms are spacious. Love the vineyard adjacent to the restaurant, perfect spot for a morning brunch.
  3. We love the Vintners Inn...pretty much down the street from our house. Another favorite for travelers to Sonoma County is the Farmhouse Inn http://www.farmhouseinn.com/... a boutique type resort nearing the Russian River
  4. I think this was a British study. Those folk for too uptight / proper to wear jeans. Give me some good old AMERICAN cargo shorts and jeans any old day...even after I turn 54 (if I make it that far )
  5. Since the injury will likely end Williams career, I'd say Landry has to pay a % of his salary for the rest of his career to Aaron. That'd be a suitable fine for me...
  6. Of course we're freaking out, we're Bills fans. Its what we do. Its Thursday and there's nothing else is going on except Bills injuries. We're finally on a solid run, people are feeling good again for once...and as usual, something happens to give us the appearance the world is crashing down on us once again. Thanks McKinley!!!
  7. If it's on the internet...yep! Especially w/ Bills injuries. Historically if the Bills say it's day to day, that equals serious concern for Bills fans.
  8. So Shady is now possibly weeks away from playing. He was just day to day an hour ago. What in the heck did the Bills quack / crack medical staff do to the guy?
  9. They have 10 years left to pay off their $100 million bond, so yes....Oakland (city) and Alameda (county) are pretty much SOL if the Raiders leave. Bad business deal. They dumped a bunch of money on a rotting corpse.
  10. The Raider fans I know don't care if they leave for Vegas. Weird. The city of Oakland isn't giving anybody anything. If a team (A's or Raiders) want a new ballpark / stadium, they're going to have to do it on their own. We've seen this battle go on for well over a decade. The 49ers would never share their stadium w/ the Raiders. That will never happen. If there were to happen, it would have happened when the 49ers were looking for sites and planning their build. Not now. There really is no perfect location for the Raiders besides their current one. They'd have to demo the coliseum (where does that leave the A's then) and build on the current site. As an A's fan, I hope the Raiders do leave town. They've ruined a once gorgeous stadium w/ the addition of Mt Davis. Once the Raiders leave, it'll free up the A's do pretty much do as they wish...if they do build on the current site (access to BART, freeway next to site is ideal). Since the Warriors are leaving too, they can demo Oracle as well. Finally, yes the Raider fans will travel to Vegas. It's a quick one hour. so flight it'll be easy to travel down. Only the hard core will probably do so, but they'll still get a strong representation from the Bay Area.
  11. Tossing this out there...got a lucky Bills / Polish t-shirt I picked up during Dyngus Day. I've been wearing it the last 4 weeks, including under my Bills jersey in LA and BUF the last 2 weeks. I don't know what to do this week, I have to work this Sunday to cover some OT. I can't wear the red tee under my uniform (Correctional Officer)...only covering up until the first hour of the game, then for the remainder of the game it'll be on. I hope it'll still be good...not digging the fact I can't wear it for the full game. I hate breaking rituals.
  12. Sitting in the stands, I figured it was 1/4 Bills fans...So with 80k+, 20k was about what I thought. Sitting in Section 20 (visitor side), halfway up...we had numerous Bills fans around us (close to 50/50). Made for a fun time. Plenty of high-fives and fist bumps w/ fellow Bills fans. I commend the Rams fans. At no time did I encounter or see any problems. I had gone to a Bills / Raiders game back in 91 (Bills comeback win in OT). Bad from the start to finish. Raiders and Rams fans are a totally different beast, different environment altogether. Lot of good Rams fans around us too. Fun, light hearted group. One large family a couple rows in front of us, had an old timer who originally worked for the Bills when they first started up in 60. All his grown sons were Rams fans, he looked around spotted all the Bills fans and gave us a thumbs up. He asked me where we lived, I told him we were originally from the East Side. He called me a D### Pollock. His sons came back to their seats, he yells to them...we have a Buffalo Pollock sitting up there. Kept calling me Pollock a few times during the game, occasionally giving me thumbs up when the Bills did something good. Loved that guy!!
  13. Just got this email (as I'm sure everyone else who signed up for announcements did too)... It'll be sunny and mid 80s temps are expected. Hats would be wise and sunscreen a good idea. No personal beverages or furniture will be allowed to be brought into the event. Beverages included with your ticket are beer, soda and drinking water. There are 75 kegs of a selection of beers and IPAs. You are welcome to get back in line for more until the party ends at 12:45 or the barrels run dry. There is seating available at the site and half of that is in the shade. Your ticket entitles you to your choice of a plate of food from any of the participating trucks. Any additional plates of food will be your responsibility. No one will be admitted wearing Rams jerseys or other Rams logo gear. If you have guests with Rams affiliations make sure that they bring a neutral color tee shirt or other clothing for the Bills Tailgate. If you do not wish to abide by this requirement please email us immediately for a refund and let other Bills fans attend in your place. We now have a waiting list hoping to get in. The Shrine has a multilevel parking structure at 714 W. 32nd Street Los Angeles 90007. We've been told the charge there will be $40 which is lower than the USC parking across the street which is $50 on NFL Sundays. If you're in Los Angeles before Sunday make sure to stop by our Backers Bar at 3110 Santa Monica Blvd. in Santa Monica 90404. Don't miss the huge collection of Bills fans converging at Busbys all weekend and peaking with the Saturday Rock Party from 1 to 6 p.m. The complimentary Busbys Stretch Limo to the Pier and Promenade will run Friday and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday's limo rides include free beer. Bring your music playlist! We'll see you all Sunday at the party before the whipping we put on the Rams!
  14. If I can only talk my daughter into staying at Fisher for another 5 + years ..... Love dropping her off early for her fall sport and being there for Bills camp. Or just get a job in WNY so I have a reason to go back every summer.
  15. He'll be safe, not the jersey kind of guy. More a fan of the player (Goff), has followed his career from high school. Just noticed The Garbage Truck will be at the tailgate!! Very nice... http://garbagetruckfoodtruck.com/menu/
  16. We're in the teens. All good .... Here's hoping there are many Bills fans in between
  17. Going, flying down from NorCal Saturday morning...hitting up Busby's Saturday, tailgate on Sunday. Brining a Rams fan...or just a Goff fan (Marin County boy)...I apologize in advance. He may be converted by the end of the weekend.
  18. Nice! I just looked at that myself and we'll either take Uber/Lyft or ride the rail to USC...after I saw parking prices were nearing or at $100 for the area. Um, no...that's not happening. Plus, with a few beverages in me, not going to attempt the drive. Going to the tailgate myself...
  19. Best: Sammy Hagar '85 @ the Cow Palace; Stones '94 at Oakland Coliseum Worst: George Strait at MGM / Vegas - 2009. I loved Kellie Pickler and Reba, but George was horrid. Center state was a square, he sang two songs in a corner then moved to next corner to sing two more and so and so on for a what seemed like an eternity. I thought I knew George Strait music, but of his extensive catalog of tunes, I knew only a handful of songs (of course all the REAL George Strait fans knew every dang lyric to all the songs played). No stage presence what-so-ever, just old school country...just stood in once place (with the exception of moving to each corner numerous times throughout the concert) and sang. Heck, even taking my kids to see the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus and listening to 1000's of shriekng tweens was better than Good Ole George.
  20. I'm also in 20 row 54!! Just don't tell me you have the same seats and I'll be good.
  21. West Coast, especially SF area, is VERY casual. East Coast has a different style. This reminds me of the 80's preppy clothes we used to wear. Whale isn't our style
  22. People dress like that here? Not in the vineyards up here in Sonoma County; Martha apparel...I see they have a back to school sale going on. What poor kid wears Vineyard Vines to school? No cargo shorts though...a plus.
  23. Who let Ragland drink WNY water? You drink the water near Orchard Park, you're bound to have an injury. Geez, haven't the Bills learned they need to bring in bottled water from outside the area? I'm sure those water pipes have some ties to Love Canal.
  24. This may be another can of worms...people who tuck in their t-shirts (or in this case, their "man"-spaghetti strap tank top). T-shirts are not meant to be tucked in.
