  1. he also chooses the Sabres GM's and HC's!
  2. Billy Barty could easily step over that bar....
  3. that's why Terry and Jerry pay him so much
  4. It's amazing that so many still get this wrong. Goodell appoints the members of the Competition ("Rules") committee. He does not write the rules. Why isn't everyone instead blaming the guys who came up with this (including Sean McD) and those who passed it (at least 24 owners)? Go yell at Sean and Terry. This is their doing. Goodell is clearly underpaid for the heat he takes for the owners.
  5. It will feature Chevy Chase who tells his entire extended family that the Bills are comping 4 PSLs but instead it turns out to be a gift card for avacado toast of the month club at Pegulas other daughter’s shuttered health food stall. Uncle Eddie is later found face down in the mud of the new stadium crater and a chipmunk causes a house fire that incinerates McD’s jaunty gifted holiday toupee
  6. I'll agree to disagree. Schoen had the opportunity to lock Jones up for a 5th year because they didn't wan t to pay him the 22 million it would cost--mind you had had not played a complete season, missing 10 games due to injury in 3 years. The Giants then made the playoffs despite winning only 3 of their last 9 games, despite Jones being one of the least productive starters in the NFL that year. Then the FO fell over themselves and paid him an insane 40 million. This was a predictable error (injury prone mediocre at best QB), as he immediately was injured again and when he played, he was even worse than he was prior to the re-signing. There's no deep thought to this on their part--they didn't want to pay a pittance (22 million) to option the 5th year for a "franchise" QB, yet they doubled that per year after first assing into and then getting blown out of the playoffs. Mara does not publicly seem to be Jerry Jones or Haslam level involvement. It's difficult for me to imagine that an owner wouldn't pay modest money for a 5th year on their franchise QB under contract, but then would commit (on paper) 160 million over 4 years after 1 playoff win. In that playoff year he threw 3200 yards , 15 TDs and 5 picks. It's very easy to believe Daboll thought he could mold Jones into something better than he was after his 3rd year. Had he said, let's get the 5th year, I can't imagine MAra would put up a big fight. The best part is that Schoen referenced Darnold and the Panthers as a cautionary tale. We all know how it went for Darnold once he joined a competent organization. It got even better when he referenced Watson and the Browns..
  7. his holdout destroyed his career, or at least proved he wasn't going to maintain what was only 3 seasons of top running.
  8. He's admitted as much there. As he was agreeable to moving up the draft to get his replacement. There's no chance that Shoen and Daboll were not 100% on board with that resigning Jones. Also if they wanted him out I think there's no chance a guy like Mara would force their hand. Daboll feels he create Josh Allen, he could recreate Danny Dimes. Turns out that Daboll was a figment of Josh Allen's greatness and Schoen was fancying himself as equi-Beane. To zeros.
  9. in 2023, Kincaid averaged 42 YPG. Before he went out after week 10, he was averaging 35.6 in 2024. His catch % was 80 in 2023 and dropped to 57% before he went out last year. The decline was already happening. The difference between 1 and zero is infinity. Then there is 5 SB appearances in 6 seasons with 3 wins. we don't have a feature TE. Knox was wildly overpaid (no on pays a TE to block for that kind of money). His YPC is meaningless because he only had 22 all season. He is the definition of mediocre. He's disappeared since he got that contract. Huge contract then they use a 1st round pick in a reach for Kincaid. Remember when everyone was drooling over the 2 TE sets we would be seeing with these 2? Where is it? And you are grouping the Bills use of TEs with the Chiefs and NE? No one else is, that's for sure.
  10. I couldn't find anything to support that.
  11. obviously this strategy has worked out infinitely better for the Chiefs than the Bills...
  12. they did it with his blessing
  13. ownership didn't come up with the idea of resigning him for that ridiculous contract. Sure they were on board with it. Faced with the option of moving up to get a QB or picking a weapon like Nabers, MAra said this: "I was nervous about giving up too much to go and get a quarterback, but I was prepared to let (Schoen) do that if that's what they wanted to do," Mara said. "We made a decision to stay with Daniel and get a weapon for him, and I think that's going to work out."
  14. Haslam, Johnson and Mara/Tisch should be made to sell their teams. Haslam and Johnson have always been a joke. The other two are for years now as well. Throw in Rooney at this point too.
  15. they re-signed Jones to 40 mill a year! then they released him after 1 season at that rate. followed up with Drew Lock, Tommy Cutlets and Tim Boyle. lol they are clowns. now they will likely have to look seriously at a guy like Millroe or Dart at #3.
  16. I'd give you more credit for a more clever comeback... Anyway: in 31 games Moss had 917 yards/8 TDs rushing, 319yards/2 TDs receiving, 269 touches/1236 yards/10 TDs total in 27 games Johnson had 345 yards/1 TD rushing, 346 yards/4 TDs receiving, 96 touches/691 yards/5 TDs total He's a good RB3 option. They should keep him around.
  17. They didn’t want Amari Cooper???
  18. How are Schoen and Daboll still employed? 2 stooges looking for the third. imagine being Giants fan since those 2 swam to shore in jersey.
  19. Well yeah, short routes are easier--this is why RBs routinely have amongst the highest catch % in the league. But WRs on the outside are drafted and paid to run those routes and catch those passes.
  20. This seems right. Bills have all the leverage. He'll play. NFL history is littered with RB's who stunk up the joint after a holdout.
  21. TE's don't count if you stay in the confines of the topic of the thread. Knox has settled in to mediocrity. Kincaid is a short yardage checkdown receiver who didn't get better his sophomore year. Shakir on the Giants? Who knows. But Wan'Dale Robinson was able to improve every year despite bad QB play. Hollins is a journeyman on his 6th team in 8 seasons--best season was with Derrick Carr throwing the ball in Vegas. Diggs doesn't count because he also isn't on the team (and the Bills total Offense improved after he left). He never got them over the top anyway. Anyway, yes having the best QB in the league hides a lot of faults. Ignoring the position in the draft annually may contribute to zero SB appearances. Jets, Broncos, Giants? Rogers is a 1st ballot HOF. The current version of Rodgers looks cooked. Even the horribly run Jets didn't want him any more. Darnold only played for the Jets in the 1st of those 5 years, then he bounced around the league until finding his groove in Minny (now gone)--the best Offense he's played on, with far and away the best WR in the NFL. His record is 35-38. Giants have Jones on the roster the entire 5 year period of the topic at hand. Broncos look like they've solved their QB issue with Nix. Russ Wilson on the Steelers went 6-5, losing 5 of their last 7 games before getting blown out in the playoffs. The Steelers still have no QB--they are currently deciding between Wilson and Rodgers lol. Yes the post clearly shows that. So you would agree that the issue with those teams is the QB spot, not that they spent capital on WRs, which is the point. Nabers is going to be a great NFL receiver, but the Giants passed on Nix and Penix because they are as incompetently run as the Jets.
