  1. The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.... Rogers Communications is alive and well. That donor was and is a business entity, not an individual, the show goes on. By Associated Press, Published: February 21 BUFFALO, N.Y. — There’s growing optimism that the Buffalo Bills will renew their deal to play games in Toronto beyond this season. And Bills fans shouldn’t worry about losing more than one regular-season game a year north of the border. That was the message delivered by Rogers Communications Media president Keith Pelley in an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/buffalo-bills-lose-preseason-game-at-toronto-this-summer-due-to-scheduling-conflict/2012/02/21/gIQAPyNORR_story.html
  2. that only tells a partial story.....it's Nate Solder AND $13 mil year in savings to spend on another player....like Vince Wilfork ($8 mil/yr) Nate Solder 8/4/2011: Signed a four-year, $8,540,500 contract ($2.1 mil/yr). Richard Seymour 2/16/2011: Signed a two-year, $30 million contract. The deal contains $15 million guaranteed -- all in the form of Seymour's first-year base salary ($15 mil/yr).
  3. great...now i gotta read 834 posts to catch up..... forget that...let me save others some time too.... BUDDY IS NOT TRADING UP........ ok folks, move along...nothing to see here.
  4. Franchise Tag.....he's going nowhere....but it could get ugly.....i say if new orleans franchise tags brees...he will refuse to sign it and sit out.....no way he plays under a one year deal ($14.374 mil)....this is his last bite at a big guaranteed contract ($50 mil).
  5. and he's about to do it again.....
  6. figured we needed a non RG III story..... pretty amazing actually: The team initially offered 250,000 shares for sale starting Dec. 6. But the allotment went quickly, with 185,000 shares alone sold within the first 48 hours. So the team made another 30,000 available. The shares weren’t cheap, costing $250 each plus handling fees of $25 in the U.S. and $35 in Canada. They’re also essentially worthless. Packers stock isn’t like regular stock. Its value doesn’t increase, there are no dividends, it has virtually no re-sale value and it doesn’t give buyers any advantage over the 93,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets. What buyers do get is a piece of paper declaring them a team owner and conferring rights to attend and vote at the annual stockholder meeting, which is held at Lambeau Field each summer before training camp. They also get access to a special line of shareholder apparel. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Atkv_Zl_hoLUXW_dzxs.aapDubYF?slug=ap-packers-stocksale
  7. Troup is HORRIBLE.....will be a BUST.
  8. nobody is forcing anybody to click on an RG III thread.
  9. i look at RG III favorably as the next Michael Vick (without the baggage). folks significantly overvalue first round picks. look at 1st round picks as a reserve placed against your salary cap on an unproven player. if you trade your #1 pick away, you still have the salary cap space available to use on a free agent. you haven't "lost" anything. i prefer, Andrew Luck, but i still think RG III is going to be considered a franchise QB. So yes, i would swap first round picks this year AND give up two future firsts to draft either of those QB's. and for the record the OT Matt Kalil is the safest/surest pick in this draft.
  10. was he in town for a border crossing to get a massage ?
  11. Upshaw is dropping...thank goodness. Alabama prospects Upshaw and Kirkpatrick don’t wow at Combine: We’ve talked a lot about the standouts at the just-completed NFL Scouting Combine, but what players may have hurt their stock? According to Charley Casserly of NFL.com, highly rated Alabama defenders Courtney Upshaw and Dre Kirkpatrick are on the list. Upshaw lacked the explosion that you’d like to see from an edge rusher according to Casserly. Kirkpatrick’s cornerback drills were lacking and he didn’t display the burst you’d like to see from a potential top-15 pick. It’s possible Janoris Jenkins could pass Kirkpatrick as the No. 2 cornerback in the draft. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/29/alabama-prospects-upshaw-and-kirkpatrick-dont-wow-at-combine/
  12. i would trade 3 first round draft choices for Andrew Luck in a hearbeat, i have seen alot of his games. i have not seen RG III alot, but my limited impression is he compares favorably to Michael Vick (absent the baggage). would i trade 3 first round picks for a young michael vick?...YES !!!...in a heartbeat. the fact that Buddy is sniffing around RG III, just reinforces my thoughts that if the 3rd best QB in this draft (Tannehill) is there at #10, they may just pull the trigger. i myself think the BEST AVAIL PLAYER at #10 will be the Stanford guard David Decastro....next Melvin Ingram....then the OT Jonathan Martin.
  13. he did ok.... Peterson was selected to the 2012 Pro Bowl and was the only rookie to be selected to the 2011 All-Pro First Team, as a kick return specialist. btw....Peterson was my #1 "safest" pick in last years draft.
  14. Captain Foresight ??
  15. assuming you consider RG III a "franchise" QB.....and it costs say swapping this years #1's PLUS two additional first round picks (2013 & 2014) or the scenario above...you do it !! people OVER VALUE draft choices. besides being an unproven crapshoot....you haven't "given" up anything.....you have "freed" yourself from alloting salary cap space for an unproven rookie.... you can use that money on PROVEN free agents.
  16. if he makes it to #10...he will be the BEST AVAILABLE PLAYER.....
  17. is there a way to permanently embed this photo so that it comes up in place of peter pan guy ??
  18. the Bills have been close to drafting a QB in the first round in each of the last two years. in 2010 they almost moved up to get Tim Tebow and last year in 2011 would have taken Cam Newton at #3 overall if he was there......is 2012 the year ?? Ranked #11 overall by NFLDraftScout.com http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/story/2012-02-21/nfl-draft-andrew-luck-robert-griffin-top-64/53191320/1 Tannehill waits for chance to prove he's top 10 material: http://www.nfl.com/combine/story/09000d5d82737021/article/tannehill-waits-for-chance-to-prove-hes-top-10-material?module=HP11_content_stream
  19. would you give up next years #1 pick, in addition to swapping this years #1's (2&10)? http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/09000d5d82736ace/RGIII-40-yard-dash?module=HP11_content_stream
  20. 40-YARD DASH TOP PERFORMERS - QUARTERBACKS: Robert Griffin III, Baylor .....that is SMOKIN FAST !!! 4.38 Andrew Luck, Stanford (same time that Cam Newton ran last year). 4.59 Jordan Jefferson, LSU 4.59 Aaron Corp, Richmond 4.65 Chandler Harnish, Northern Illinois 4.69 Jacory Harris, Miami (FL) 4.72 Case Keenum, Houston 4.75 Austin Davis, Southern Miss 4.78 Kirk Cousins, Michigan State 4.84 Nick Foles, Arizona 5.13
  21. you forgot Devon Still
  22. Maybin will be entitled to a one-year salary in the range of $2.5 million, the Jets will have a chance to match any offer Maybin accepts with another team, and the Jets ultimately will be entitled to receive a first-round pick as compensation if the Jets choose to let Maybin walk. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/24/report-jets-to-use-first-round-rfa-tender-on-maybin/ either this report is false....or they must be hoping he accepts an offer from another team.
  23. this is a year i prefer the Bills to stay where they are at #10. this draft has about a dozen really good players, whoever is there at #10 will be a beauty. i wouldn't mind doing one of those trade our 2nd & 3rd round picks to move up into late 1st round.
  24. here is the draft value chart on those two scenarios, the bills 10th overall (1300) for cincy's 17th overall (950) and their 21st pick in 2nd round (370). or....buffalo's 1st (1300) and 2nd round pick (490) for cincys two 1st's ( 950 & 800).
