  1. RG III used to go by the name Andre 3000....
  2. Seattle at #12 might want Tannehill... even KC at #11 and Arizona at #13 might be interested based on flirting with Peyton.
  3. so in order to move up they swap number 1's this year. the premium paid to move up is an additional two #1's and a #2. if this was for Andrew Luck...i would do it in a heartbeat. i've watched alot of his full games. i have not watched RG III games....just highlights. but "IF" he is as good....and obviously the Redskins think so.....you make this move for a "franchise" QB. or look at it another way....would you rather have Mark Sanchez at $13 mil/yr, Matt Flynn at $9 mil/yr or RG III at $6 mil/yr ?? as far as Wash gutting their future by giving up those draft picks.....all they did was free up salary cap space for proven free agents.
  4. the stars are aligning for the bills to take tannehill..... looks like all the teams ahead of buffalo who are QB needy have their guy.... Colts - Luck Wash - RG III CLEV - Matt Flynn MIA - PEYTON Draft Tannehill and CUT Tyler Thigpen ....consider that a trade: last years #10 overall averaged $3 mil/yr.......Thigpen's salary is $3 mil/year. sign Mario Williams as a Free Agent. this is NOT what i want, but i just saying based on how close the Bills have been in each of last two years to drafting a QB early....this is a real possibilty. i prefer we draft Martin, DeCastro or Melvin Ingram......and address the backup QB in the 2nd or 3rd round (Weeden or Osweiler).
  5. Matt Flynn is going to cost almost twice as much as Andrew Luck because of the new rookie wage scale. last years #1 overall pick Cam Newton averaged $5.5 mil/yr: 7/29/2011: Signed a four-year, $22.025 million contract. The deal is fully guaranteed, including a $14,518,544 signing bonus. 2012: $1,376,159, 2013: $2,377,318, 2014: $3,378,477, 2015: Free Agent Matt Flynn is going to want "fitz" money: 10/28/2011: Signed a seven-year, $62.195 million contract. The deal contains $24 million guaranteed, including a $10 million signing bonus. 2012: $2.8 million (+ $5 million option bonus due 3/19), 2013: $4.25 million (+ $3 million roster bonus), 2014: $4.35 million (+ $3 million roster bonus), 2015: $7.2 million, 2016: $8.75 million, 2017: $9.45 million, 2018: Free Agent
  6. totally agree.
  7. folks OVER VALUE 1st round draft picks. look at first round draft picks as simply a salary cap slot reserved for an unproven rookie. the redskins did NOT lose the salary cap slot. they freed themselves of the uncertainty and risk of a rookie. they can now simply use those dollars on proven players.
  8. TOTALLY WORTH IT !!!.....good move washington they only gave up unproven draft picks.....they still have that salary cap space to spend on proven free agents.
  9. i'd like #2 & #7 please...... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/peter_king/03/08/top.50.free.agents/index.html?sct=nfl_t11_a0
  10. Mario is 27 yrs old.....freeney is 32. Mario plays the run better and is in his prime. freeney is a one trick pony and in serious decline.
  11. Sources: Peyton to visit Denver The Peyton Manning recruiting adventure begins Friday with a visit to the Denver Broncos, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen. Sources were adamant that the visit does not define the Broncos as the favorite to land the four-time MVP who was released by the Colts this week. No contract negotiations are expected to occur during the visit. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7666110/peyton-manning-visit-denver-broncos-friday
  12. would much rather have mario over freeney.
  13. The Indianapolis Colts are fielding telephone calls from teams interested in trading for perennial Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney, according to league sources. The Colts do not necessarily want to part ways with Freeney, but they need the salary-cap space and Freeney has a $19 million cap number this season and is unwilling to restructure his contract, according to sources. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7664912/sources-indianapolis-colts-listening-offers-dwight-freeney
  14. Report: Chiefs have already offered Peyton Manning a contract http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/09/report-chiefs-have-already-offered-peyton-manning-a-contract/
  15. The Bills are $20.9 million under their projected salary cap for the 2012 season, according to News figures. They stand $32.8 million under their cap in terms of actual cash spending, the News estimates. Those totals do not count the new contract signed Thursday by tight end Scott Chandler. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article754221.ece assuming after chandler's contract is taken into account the Bills have $18 mil avail salary cap. i'm having a hard time believing they will spend near all of that on just one player (i'm expecting Mario to get/ask/need $15 mil/ yr to come to buffalo). that would be a nice D-Line.
  16. cross the Redskins off the list.... “A couple of different sources inside the organization have told me that Manning’s camp made it pretty clear to Redskins officials he doesn’t want to come here,” said Russell. “… There’s lots of reasons for that. His brother Eli, the colder weather, the whole situation down in Miami and so on and so forth. But unless that changes — and I’m taking my sources at their word — I don’t think Manning’s coming here to D.C.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/08/report-manning-doesnt-want-to-play-for-the-redskins/
  17. this is funny.... Bills ranked #19 in the "The Peyton sweepstakes power rankings": http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/08/the-peyton-sweepstakes-power-rankings/
  18. not wasting any time.... Peyton Manning's camp is aiming to make a decision on where he will play next season within the next week, according to sources, who add that while Manning prefers to stay in the AFC, he is open to playing in the NFC. sources tell ESPN that the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and New York Jets have actually been in contact with Manning's representatives. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7659947/peyton-manning-aims-pick-team-week-sources-say
  19. there you go again.....letting facts get in the way of a good story....
  20. don't worry....this is team Manning...the master manipulators.... they are only using miami to help set the market.....he is going to a true contender......peytons window if not closed (i think he retires) is very short. i say Houston #1, then the Jets.
  21. the colts ain't going anywhere... yes they are in full blown rebuilding mode.... Polian had em in cap jail....and it will take time to clean house and start over. don't be surprised if the colts are close to picking #1 again in 2013.
  22. Peyton Manning’s camp has already heard from 12 teams. NFL teams are wasting no time in declaring their interest in free agent quarterback Peyton Manning. Of the NFL’s 32 teams, 12 of them contacted Manning’s representatives in the hours after the Colts made his release official, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/08/peyton-mannings-camp-has-already-heard-from-12-teams/ The former Indianapolis Colts quarterback landed late Wednesday afternoon in South Florida, drawing the attention of local TV news helicopters and NFL fans everywhere. His private plane arrived at a small airport 30 minutes from the Miami Dolphins' complex, but he then rode off in a different direction with the news media in pursuit. When his van reached Miami Beach, it pulled over in a church parking lot, and Manning emerged to tell reporters South Florida might not be his final destination. Manning has a condo here and has been working out with former Colts teammate Reggie Wayne, who lives in South Florida. Manning's not necessarily Dolphins-bound, he said. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-400_162-57392968/peyton-manning-visits-miami-after-release/
  23. another elimination angle.... Marshall Faulk: Peyton Manning will not play in NFC "If you're in the NFC, you're out. The Mannings (won't) play a regular-season game," said NFL Network analyst and Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk, referring to Peyton and Giants QB Eli Manning. "They're not gonna stop each other from going to the Super Bowl. Meeting in the Super Bowl? How great would that be for the family?" http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2012/03/marshall-faulk-peyton-manning-will-not-play-in-nfc/1 just helps my houston pick....
  24. here is interesting take that possibly eliminates many teams..... When picking the next place where Peyton Manning will play, a potentially significant factor arises not from Peyton’s preferences or priorities but from the stable of clients represented by CAA, the agency that represents Manning. For starter, consider the 49ers. Alex Smith is the quarterback. He apparently wants to stay. The 49ers apparently want to keep him. There’s no evidence of a strong demand for his services on the open market. And he’s represented by CAA. Ditto for the Denver Broncos. When Jimmy Sexton joined CAA last year, he brought Tim Tebow with him. If the Broncos were to add Manning, Tebow would be bumped to the bench, or worse. So forget about Manning becoming a Bronco. CAA represents other starters whose teams likely aren’t thinking about making a change, including Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, and Lions quarterback Matt Stafford. Beyond that, there are some possible (not likely, but possible) destinations that complicate the careers of other CAA clients. Buffalo? Ryan Fitzpatrick is another Sexton guy. Cowboys? Tony Romo is represented by Ken Kremer of CAA. Jaguars? Blaine Gabbert is a CAA client. Vikings? Sexton has Christian Ponder. Bucs? Kremer has Josh Freeman. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/07/caa-factor-looms-over-peytons-next-destination/
  25. just watched the Peyton Manning presser.... still a class act.
