Levitre is "spectacular" and will be sorely missed. once chris Johnson starts piling up yards this year Levitre will get the recognition he deserves with multiple pro bowls.
I also predict (absent taking an O-lineman with pick #8)that whoever our QB is....he will be the most sacked in the league.
when Chris Johnson's numbers are up and spiller & Freddy's are down.......paying an extra million more than you wanted to for a stud guard won't seem so crazy.
TOMMORROW IS "D" DAY FOR FITZ.....
Nix says about Fitzpatrick: "We're still struggling here with our quarterback. I say struggling. We're not really struggling. He's going to have to do something, or we'll have to."
Added Nix: "You can't afford to pay that kind of money to a guy that's fighting for probably a backup job."
And then Nix ended with this on his quarterback situation: "We gotta get one somehow. Bad time to need it."
If the Bills cut him before Tuesday, they’ll carry $10 million in dead money. If they cut him on Tuesday after 4:00 p.m. ET with a post-June 1 designation, his cap hit would drop to $3 million this year and $7 million in 2014.
Either way, the Bills would save $7.45 million in cash by moving on. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/10/bills-fitzpatrick-inch-toward-3-million-decision/
impact player as a kick returner. solid nickel db, still has upside as possible starting left corner. having said that, my priority would have been to use that money towards levitre. levitre on the field for 60 plays, mckelvin as a kr & nickel might get 30 plays a game.
in our most recent drafts we have picked 4th,13th, no pick, 8th, 12th, 11th, 11th, 9th, 3rd, 10th and now 8th which averages to picking 9th. if we don't get a franchise QB, things can and probably will get worse.
regarding the five year life insurance policy comment.........the only thing that would make any sense to me, would be if Rogers had a right of first refusal to match any bid to buy the team when ralph passes. it is also the only reason I can see rogers wanting to continue the series. not sure how that type of agreement could possibly remain secret.
Bills are sitting pretty at #8.......Mel Kipers Top Ten (updated 3/6/13).....#1- Sharrif Floyd , #2- Dee Milliner, #3-Eric Fisher, #4- Luke Joeckel, #5- Jarvis Jones, #6-Dion Jordan, #7- Barkevious Mingo, #8- Jonathan Cooper, #9- Chance Warmack, #10- Lane Johnson........his Big Board only goes to #25 and has zero QB's......
who is a fantastic player, I would be very happy with the pick, but levitre is playing at a pro bowl level. losing him and picking Womack, at best is a wash and doesn't make the team better. i'm a huge levitre fan, I would have tagged him instead of byrd, even at the higher OL tag $$
i'm shocked Levitre has not heard from the bills....... at a minimum I would have expected the bills to have tried to sign both byrd AND levitre, in hopes of signing either one and then using the tag on the other.
actually, that is based on an outdated team salary cap figure of $121 million......latest projections place it at $123.........so we have about $30 mil.........$5 mil of which is saved for 2013 draft choices........around $6 mil for Byrd and $8 mil for Levitre..........that leaves about $11 mil.
