  3. Asked if he knew the rule regarding the white border, Tomlin said, "Tell me something I don't know. I do it quite often, like everybody else in the National Football League. I was wrong, I accept responsibility for it." http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/bell/2013/11/29/mike-tomlin-over-the-line-steelers-ravens-blocked-punt-return/3779791/
  4. Mike Tomlin is/was the 7th highest paid NFL coach at $5.75 million/year. a $100,000 fine is about 1.7 % of his salary. thats like a guy making $50,000 a year getting fined $870. hit them where it hurts, a loss of draft picks. Tomlin says he spoke with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday and will accept any punishment from the league. He said he expected to be fined but was hoping the league would forgo fining the Steelers organization. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10073517/mike-tomlin-pittsburgh-steelers-expects-fine-inexcusable-error
  5. "Cutting off the nose to spite the face" is an expression used to describe a needlessly self destructive over-reaction to a problem.

  7. the NFL is the best sports league in the world. a bad NFL matchup is still better than a good matchup in any other sport. i'll be following the NFL with or without the Bills. having an NFL franchise in Buffalo makes it all the sweeter. the ONLY way to keep the bills in Buffalo is through regionalization of the southern Ontario market. buffalo alone can NOT support a franchise. it may be painful, but 7 of 8 home games is better than ZERO of 8...... embrace it.
  8. how many L. A. Clipper fans here ?
  9. can you imagine this story if it was belichick ?
  10. if your sister moves away and changes her name, do you still love her ?

  12. stevie's contract says he isn't going anywhere until after the 2014 season. until then, they need to move him to the inside slot. let woods, goodwin & graham handle the 2 outside spots.
  13. slow of mind given to unintelligent decisions or acts : acting in a careless manner

  16. NFL mulling big fine for Mike Tomlin: The NFL is expected to consider six-figure fines for Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers organization and also is expected to consider taking away a draft pick from the team, a source familiar with the league's thinking told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10063295/nfl-expected-consider-fining-mike-tomlin-pittsburgh-steelers-coach-six-figures-stepping-field-baltimore-ravens
  17. Tomlin CHEATED INTENTIONALLY !!! i'm expecting a HUGE fine....$100,000 - $250,000
  18. Bengals-Chargers becomes first blackout of the 2013 season Its the first game of the 2013 season to be blacked out, after 12 weeks of having every contest televised in the corresponding local market. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/11/28/bengals-chargers-becomes-first-blackout-of-the-2013-season/
  19. lol....i'm on a roll.....you are correct...... anyways, i'm no longer a fan of the talented tyrd.
  20. regionalization is working. embrace it, buffalo alone can NOT support an NFL franchise. firmly staking claim to the southern ontario market is the best possible way to keep the word BUFFALO in front of the name BILLS for another 50 years.
  21. of course no one from the bills organization is going to hint or suggest Byrd is "milking it" or "overly cautious" or anything of the like if they have any hope whatsoever of signing him long term. i have no proof whatsoever that he could have played if he wanted to, just like his apologists have no proof whatsoever that his absense was totally legit and had absolutely nothing to do with the ugly business side of things, even though it was just a coincidence he finally decided to play after the trade deadline passed. Byrd does not want to be here and will not sign long term with the bills. he will continue to do everything he can to force the bills to not tag him again or trade him. the only way he plays for the bills next year is if they tag him again for $8.3 mil, at which time he will reaggravate his foot.
  22. Motive: to reduce his exposure/risk to a more serious injury or aggravating the injury he had, which could effect his long term earnings. Byrd was injured (last year & this year), there is no doubt in my mind. now, having said that, he played through that same injury last season when it was in his best interest to do so. once he got his $6.9 mil GUARANTEED money and after months of offseason rest, he can't play through the injury to start this season ???? nonsense, he went all selfish and stiffed his teammates and fans. yet half the fans don't blame him.
  23. that is my order of need.
  24. shouldn't Jairus be apologizing to his teammates for stiffing them ? he may have made the difference in turning one or two of those losses into wins, thereby putting the team in the playoffs.
  25. needs: #1- LG (draft a LT and let him play LG for awhile) #2- OLB/DE (draft a DT and move Dareus to DE where he can use his quickness). #3- TE (currently the weakest group/position on team). #4- QB (not yet 100% sold on EJ).
