assuming the bills intended to go vanilla in preseason and show the Bears nothing, as they have claimed. why did they risk injury to Sammy and EJ ?? you mean, they couldn't have accomplished vanilla in practice WITHOUT anyone taking liberties with Sammy's ribs ?? as a 28 year STH, I wanna puke. now, I doubt Sammy plays vs Chicago. then his apologists will say EJ played mediocre because he didn't have his #1 target. nothing changes until you have a FRANCHISE QB !! ... EJ will NEVER be that guy.

Biggest NON-EJ worry for 2014
papazoid replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
#1- owner #2- OL #3- OC coach -
we don't really have a choice. assuming the china doll makes it through 6 games uninjured, he will get his chance. no way the bills brain trust admit they screwed up when they announced all in on EJ. no matter how he plays they wont pull him in favor of Orton, who is better than EJ. another year missing the playoffs. but we can use our #1 pick on a QB next year.....oh wait....nevermind.

the only hoax is anyone believing EJ will be a franchise QB. he's not even good enough to be in the Top 25 of QB's.

combined pass attempts of Brady, Brees and Rodgers last night ?.....zero. marrone is an idiot.

I was at the game. I watched Sammy and his interaction with the trainers. he's hurtin. I say he's not making the opener and the 4-6 week wisecrack marrone made is probably closer to the truth.

Preseason Game #5: Lions at Bills - 8/28/14 @ 7 PM

Sammy Watkins took a shot to the ribs. I watched him come off and talk to the trainers. it doesn't look good. I would not be surprised if he misses the opener. -

There is no way to accurately rank the 32 NFL head coaches, but polling 30 league insiders is a pretty good place to start. 28. Doug Marrone, Buffalo Bills (3.53 average) Marrone had an injured rookie quarterback for his lone season as a head coach. There is very little track record to evaluate. Many voters placed Marrone and other unproven coaches in the 4s by default, not because they necessarily saw specific flaws. One former GM gave Marrone a 3 and placed him ahead of the Jets' Ryan in his pecking order. A pending ownership change is clouding the future in Buffalo for Marrone and everyone else, however. "I think Marrone has the skills, the tools, the communicative ways to get to players," this ex-GM said. "He is an up-and-coming coach. I like Doug. Of course, you can be good and be out of a job depending on where you are working. It's just not fair. We have all been there." http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11408205/ranking-32-nfl-head-coaches-tiers Here is every coach's rank, average score and number of votes in each of the five tiers. Exclusive Season Ticket Holder Benefits
papazoid replied to Metal Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
47,482 season tickets. team's highest since 2009. -
no one is Guaranteed anything. you play the person who gives you the best chance to win this season. except if your inept like the Bills and declare ahead of time you are all in with a mediocre EJ. then wait til the last minute and sign all new backups who will take months to learn the playbook. the Bills could have used some of their $8 mil in cap space or better yet, some of that $23 mil in Dead Money they are wasting, to get a proven free agent QB in here. i'm sure McCown could see an easy path to starting with an injury prone, ineffective, 28th ranked QB in his way. whats another season or two to give EJ all the time he needs to prove he will never be a Franchise QB (sarcasm). EJ is NOT ready and the Bills continue to mishandle the QB situation under Whaley. but there's hope for next season when the new owner cleans house (sarcasm)and we don't have a first round pick.
-
a free agent QB who was 1st is Total QBR and 3rd in Passer rating in 8 games. we don't need anyone like that (sarcasm)
-
Josh McCown would have been a huge improvement.
-
we sucked last year. we are not better this year. therefore, we will suck again.
-
INEPT !! the whole QB situation for this team is a DISASTER !!

Bills Release Alan Branch After DWI Arrest

just add Branch money to the $23,661,443 in DEAD MONEY the bills have tied up in salary cap for players NOT on the team. management sucks. http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/buffalo-bills
