Marino, Sharpe done at CBS
NoName replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am glad to see Shannon Sharpe go. Marino surprises me. I'd rather see Boomer go rather than Marino. Am I the only one who like CBS pre game? It's the only one I watched every Sunday. Fox was way to goofy for me. -
Exhaustive film study: EJ's strengths and weaknesses
NoName replied to l< j's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bills need an elite TE NOT possession wr....Stevie is already here and he will not get cut.......the Bills get zero cap relief by cutting him.....I'd like to see 1st round TE 2nd round OLB 3rd round OG 4th and 5th round OL/TE 6th and7th BPA With the QB play and scheme the Bills use, an elite TE is more valuable than WR....considering our current assets -
Thad has one career start more than E.J. coming in to this year......when Thad went under center as a starter, he had less starts than e.j.......Thad's play is more or less equal to that of E.J.......E.J. is getting the nod because of his 1st round status and therefore is seen as having a higher upside. They are both young with limited experience and should be given an equal chance to develop and compete........heck even Tuel did okay in his start.........having said all of that, I'd like to see the Bills draft a QB 1st round If the guy they want is there....I don't want any2nd or 3rd rounders......

2013 Pro Bowl Balloting: Mario, Kyle, and Byrd Elected.
NoName replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MIke Pettine is the Bills MVP. Why?? All of the Bills players who made pro bowl were on defense. I can't remember the last time a Bills player made the pro bowl out right .....not to mention 3 with a possible 5..........in addition, the 3 that made it were here last year as well......Mike Pettine is a toptier defensive mind and I hope he gets credit -
was just making the point that leo is a guy with high first round talent. people seemed to have forgotten

Fred Jackson's last game at the Ralph?
NoName replied to oman128's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does anyone know his cap number for next year? He Is the oldest back in the year so of course he has slowed. still productive and valuable though......steady freddy -
People must remember that leo was also high first round pick. In fact, I think he was the first cb drafted in his draft class. Gilmore was not. Leo has been our best player in the secondary this year. I must give him credit.

We don't need a high draft pick receiver if we don't have the right guy throwing him the ball. We need to use that high pick on another QB. Receiver is one of our strongest positions on the roster. A starting three of JOhnson, Woods and Goodwin is very formidable. Graham, 7 11, and Easley are good depth guys. I'd rather see them draft a gang changing "weapon" at the tight end position.
-
Did anyone else notice how Bradham was way faster than Byrd during the Bucs 1st qtr Touchdown run? Just shows how good his ball instincts must be to be that slow.
-
forget the backup talk. If a potential franchise guy falls to us in first round pick him up
-
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Teams will have more time to game plan and take away Goodwin out of the game. Having said that, he is probably our best receiver. I think I'd rather see the Bills start Goodwin and Graham the rest of the way. All that speed on the field opens it up. If not Graham maybe Woods. But there is no way Goodwin should not be a full time starter. Even Hogan looked good in his role. The Bills have huge amounts of talent at WR. I see Goodwin and Woods as possibly being a Jackson Macklin like combo.

Aaron Williams is a playmaker. He improved so much since last year. Happy for him as well........if both he and Byrd' contract was expiring this year (which I know isn't the case) I would take him over Byrd. A.W."s versatility is very valuable and he's very young and brings a swag.

For all of you guys crying for Flynn. He obviously wasn't the answer. As I said, earlier. The head coach from Dolphins didn't want him and he was his O.C. during Flynn's time at G. B. Since then, Flynn lost to a rookie, was beat out by a supplemental draft player and now cut again.
-
how about we release you for creating this thread. A free agent rookie qb getting his first start against the only undefeated team in the league and you guys want to jump all over the guy. If he doesn't make the mistake in the endzone we win the game. You guys are forgetting something. When Flynn was available as a free agent, his o.c. just got the gig in Miami. Miami was in need of a qb and had little to no interest in Flynn. And what did Flynn go on to do since leaving g.b.?

Gaughan: Tuel likely starter, 15 of 18 sacks on QB
NoName replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the people who are bashing the Tuel......keep this in mind.....not only is he a rookie....not only did he go undrafted.....this will be his first start.....and this week he didn't even get all of the 1st string snaps...he had to split them with Flynn...and he is going against the team with the best record in the league......Rookie season people.....I know he sucked in Clevland, but he looked really good during pre season. Let's give him a chance. I bet many people (including myself) were worried as heck about Thad's first start. I am sure most of us did not predict that he would be as good as he was. Who ever thought we all would be hoping that Thad freakin Lewis would be under center for the start of a game. The point, Very few believed in Thad and he came threw. Let's give Tuel support -

Some of you guys are so fickle. I remember after that pre season game, people were all about Tuel. Calling for him to be number 2 ahead of Kolb. Heck even some wanted to see he and E.J. compete for starting job. He got thrown into a national tv game and looked terrible and everyone is all over the kid. Look, lets throw the kid out there and see what he does. If it doesn't look well remember, it'll be his first time starting in his rookie season........cut the kid a break. Also, show some trust in the coaches. The obviously want to win. If they don't put Flynn in there, obviously there is a reason for it. They aren't trying to tank games or anything. -
Is Stephon Gilmore an above average CB???
NoName replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think when people get carried away by saying he was a top 5 corner, they were judging him relative to being a first year corner. As a first year corner he was good. Not excellent but above average. You absolutely cannot grade this guy this year. You just can't until that cast comes off. If anything, how about we give the guy some damn credit for going out there with a cast while Byrd spent damn near half the season complaining of sore feet. -
another thread that should be closed.

In order 1) Mario 2) Kiko 3) Dareus Not a pro bowler MVP of offense? Fred Jackson

Matt Flynn on flight to Buffalo, (update - now signed)
NoName replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bringing in Flynn on a year deal is a good move. Manuel is out for a while. And if Thad were to get injured, Tuel would have been in the game. Flynn would probably give the team a better chance to win than Tuel. The coach already stated that he views Tuel as a practice squad/developmental QB this year. -

This thread is absurd. You have a corner back running around with a damn club on his hand. How in the heck is he supposed to be productive as a 2nd year player with that thing on his hand? In all of my years of watching football, I have never seen a DB out there with that thing on his hand. So you cannot judge this guy. To say that he was a top 5 corner in NFL is a huge reach. Can't believe on the back of a win, people are picking on a DB out there trying to battle with a club on his hand. -

how long is Flynns deal? That will really bring clarity to things. If its a 3 year deal, they have to see this guy as e.j.s true backup. if its a one year deal, i see it as a bandaid intel type thing. i think this much is clear, they dont wanna see tuel anywhere near the football field this year. -

Now that's an excellent post. I wish some the bills writers did this type of analysis. -
Thaddeus Lewis starting against Bengals
NoName replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wondered why they never considered bringing Tarvaris Jackson back. I am sure they could have gotten him back for a 7th rounder. The guy has taken a team to the playoffs. He couldn't have been that bad. -
this is all about coaching I think....go back to this time last year. Most people had Mckelvin and Williams and draft bust....now look at this year? These guys are on the brink of playing at a pro bowl level. How does 2 db's go from being burried at the bottom of the depth chart to this level of production and one year? New coaching staff and scheme. Brought out the best and these 2 guys. Until Gilmore gets back, I'd like to see Williams and Mckelvin at CB Robey at nickel And Byrd and Leonhard at Safety Searcy Dime. And when Gilmore comes back who would you send to the bench???? I am sure the obvious answer would be Leonhard but I that guy has been a stud this year. I am really feeling that our secondary (healthy) is one of the biggest strengths on this team.
