Piling onto the ROOKIE EJ Manuel is moronic

I totally agree.....but after reading the forums, I am going to stay patient with the rookie.....but I have to admit, I don't see why everyone seems so impressed with his "poise" -
EJ vs. Russell Wilson's First 3 NFL Starts

I found this post very helpful. I was really hard on E.J. Good reminder to stay patient and give the guy time. -
Piling onto the ROOKIE EJ Manuel is moronic

DearTBD: I think E.J. should throw more check downs. He is far to aggressive for my taste. Sincerely, Trent Edwards -

NO Way. Hackett is MUCH worse than those guys. This is absolutely brutal. -

I mean look at Chan Gailey....look at the production he got out of Stevie and Spiller......he put these guys in position to thrive. That's what coaching is about.....I can do a better job than Hackett. -

Hackett is the worst play caller the Bills have had since the beginning of time. E.J. looks terrible. He is basically Trent Edwards with more wheels. I get that he is rookie so there is hope for him. But Hackett is the equivalent of Wanny. Another 4 win season. -
Wow! That really puts things into perspective. Now that I think about it, there was a similar pleed from Bills fan to give Stevie some reps based on his pre season and very limited action he received. I really think Easley can be a really good receiver. But like another poster said, this is the second group of coaches. And if they aren't putting him in there must be a reason.
-
Easley is like a folk legend around these parts. I agree, I'd rather see Easley on the field too but keep some things in mind. 1) There seems to be a need/feel that Graham has more value than Easley. They were only drafted 1 round apart. Graham 3rd rounder Easley 4th 2) Graham did get behind his man consistently. E.J. failed to get him the ball 3) Graham's speed on the field helps to open up all of that dink and dunk stuff that the Bills offense seems to be based on. 4) E.J. throws more check downs than Trentative....so it won't really matter anyway.

Leodis McKelvin is great, Kiko Alonso sucks
NoName replied to jumbalaya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kiko sucks?? I ask you this, how well did Mckelvin look after his second game as a rookie? Chill out. McKelvin looks really good. Kiko shows alot of promise. -
Wow. McKelvin's contract looks like a bargin now doesn't it.....lol......I guess I can finally let the Patriots game go from this rookie season......lol....great job McKelvin...

Mario deserves praise for his game
NoName replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imagine if Mario could have gotten Cam down on those other 2 missed tackles....He would have had 6.5 sacks. Haven't seen a Bills DE perform at that level in a game since BRUUUUUCe. Great game Super Mario. -
Goodwin and Brooks to miss time after Surgery.

are the bills able to bring back butler??? are their any db's on the practice squad? -
Pettine, in his first game did an excellent job. Considering the talent (or lack of) he had in the secondary. The Dline consistently had pressure and the secondary was very aggressive and in the right spots to make plays. So far very impressed. Just shows you how much of a bonehead Wonstache was. As for Hackett? NOt impressed at all. I couldn't help but wonder how things would look with Chan calling plays. Spiller is our biggest weapon but how do you constantly run him in the middle????? IN the same formation???? Stevie Johnson is our second biggest weapon. How many times was he targeted??? Slant passes to Stevie was our bread and butter for years, where did that go? The lack of formations, and creativity was baffling. I am really concerned about Hackett as well. It's only one game so I am not saying he should be canned or anything but that offense of game plan was putrid. Spiller does most of his damage outside the tackles. Freddie does most of his damage between the tackles.

Browns Release David Nelson and Naaman Roosevelt
NoName replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really good post...throw in namaan as well.......I think Chan is a good NFL coordinator.....not so sure about head coach though -
Great idea, I like it. problem is top flight CB's are much more of a commodity than a top flight safety. So likely won't get even value. So depends on who we can get.

Agree totally on how Winfield played his man and Clements. Very good analysis. I thought McGee pressed his man a little more than Clements. Heck, when Winfield and Clements left, McGee was without a doubt the best CB on our roster for a few years. But he is just not as good as those guys. Winfield went signed a big contract and made a pro bowl or two. Clements at one point was the highest paid corner or defesnive player in the league and he might have made a pro bowl as well. "Because of their CB Skills". Those guys were in pro bowls for CB play McGee would never have been considered for CB play. What did McGee's big contract look like compared to theirs? Also, as long as Winfield and Clements were in Bills uniform, McGee was NEVER a starter unless someone was injured. Heck Troy Vincent was brought in to start over McGee. From reading his post, JR seems to misinformed and doesn't seem to have an understanding of CB play.
-
Some of you guys are so obsessed with stats. Stats don't often give you the whole picture. Yes McGee was a good corner back. No doubt about that. But he would have never been anything close to a pro bowl at the corner back position. Never. He was a good player and very good returner. Winfield was the best Bills corner I've seen in a Bills uniform in my over 20 years of being a fan. Clements a close second and I don't remember enough of Odoms play to say if he or Thomas Smith is 3rd but my instinct would say Odoms. Winfield was an all around corner. He did not get the picks but that dude was probably the best tackling CB I"ve seen. Especially for his size. Terrence Mcgee as far as CB ability to me was much more on par with Jeff Burris. McGee was never going to lock down a side of the field for you or anything like that. He was a good solid nfl corner back. Get your heads out of the stats boys. It doesn't give you the whole picture. Use your eyes. And I forgot to mention. McGee was a nickle corner for a good chunk of his career. Who were the two corners ahead of him??????? Exactly
-
I like Terrence Mcgee but one of the great Bills????? That's funny. He was a middle of the pack NFL Starting CB in his prime and a Top 3 or 5 return man in the league. Doesn't make him A Bills great. He's much closer to Leodis Mckelvin than say a Nate Clements and Nate Clements wasn't a Bills great. And who ever said that McGee had better cover skills than Winfield ought to have their posting privileges taken away.

I think Desean Jackson would have something to say about your post.

Wow what a great job of scouting. Tuel went undrafted. And this guy can ball. Great touch on the longer throws and I love the way he sells the pa fakes. You can tell very early on this guy is going to be good. As a starter or better backups, I don't know but he is good. But before we talk about cutting Kolb, we have got to see the guy play in a Bills uniform first. This dink and dunk stuff is designed to keep it simple for the rookie qb's. during regular season things will look much different.
