He has an agenda. A good portion of his posts are in regards to his misperception of McBeane incompetence. Sorta like Scotty Law

Cool Detailed Analysis - Zay Jones

Were you frustrated with the Sammy trade up considering we could have had OBJ without doing so? -
I must have missed that.

Can't teach accuracy? Cam Newton interesting case study...
Magox replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Play design, similar to why Allen had a pretty high completion % vs the Dolphins. Allen arguably had an average post injury throwing day, but they designed a bunch of high completion passes hence the higher %. That's why this whole shallow NFL pundit and fan obsession of equating completion % to accuracy is misguided.- 47 replies

??Tremaine Edmunds named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month
Magox replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hes going to beef up. That tall frame of his could easily add another 7-10 lbs without taking away from his speed and agility. Look at the difference in Milano from year one to two. He looked thin his first year and this past year he had bulging biceps. That is what you typically see from year one to two if you have a committed offseason. -
I see Foster as what he has shown, an intermediate to deep threat. He not only has a fast timed speed but hes gameday fast. He has shown the ability to separate at a high level, hes caught a very high percentage of the intended passes thrown his way, very impressive when you take into account that he is over 20 ypc average. Hes a burner and should be primarily used as such.

Levi Wallace ends season as highest graded rookie CB by PFF
Magox replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stephon had a great year. Always has been a good DB. I think the dislike from him comes that he comes off as if he is disinterested at times and rarely owns up to any mistakes that he commits. When you combine that with a franchise that loses often, the two just dont mix well. -

But he was the worst player on the field. Which reminds me: Paging @nedboy7 -
Calm down neddy boy, I know you are still smarting over the Tyrod comment. I'm not discounting PFF, I'm simply pointing out what I have always believed about stats, which is that they are metrics to be used to analyze performance but never are they determinants to make final conclusions.

Just like most stats they are simply metrics not the be-all-end-all

All teams in the nfl salary cap number.

AJ is a potentially realistic trade partner. From Cincy's perspective,: He is on the wrong side of 30. They are not on the verge of competing for anything meaningful. He is on the last year of his contract. He gets injured a little more often then what you would like to see. I think he could potentially be had for a 2nd and 4th sort of proposal. -
After we drafted him I watched all the games I could of every throw he had and I never bought into the very low floor label that was often thrown out there. People were comparing him to a Jamarcus Russel or EJ Manuel 2.0 sort of possibility. His work ethic would never allow him to be a Jamarcus sort of bust and to me EJ truly did have accuracy issues despite the high completion % that people liked to cite of his college days. EJ's throws in college were for the most part consisted of lots of short throws and he didn't have the same willingness to make plays that JA displayed. I just didn't see the comparisons. What I saw of Allen was that if he had his feet set he threw his 20-30 yard passes with lots of accuracy. What I also saw was that he was such an awesome scrambler, could shed off tackles with ease with that huge gun of an arm and the mentality to go for the jugular down the field when he escaped the pocket that these combined traits alone would most likely translate into a playmaking QB. I created a whole thread basically describing these things and how I didn't believe the low floor hype. I thought that his floor was Blake Bortles (not that this is good but it's not god awful) and that his ceiling was a Ben Roth sort of player. That was pre draft. Now I think his floor is Kaepernick during his San Fran days.

If you did it, it would have to be Poyer because of their issues. I don't think I'd want to trade the #9 overall pick and Poyer for him though plus AB has such an outsized personality I"m also not sure that they'd want to risk him being a potential cancer. From the sounds of things Tomlin wasn't able to control him, but I have a feeling that he would be able to fit into the Bills locker room. He'll be 31 this next season and he is elite, it certainly is tempting.

Not to mention that by the second half of the season he had not only shown a willingness but was much more effective at pushing the ball down the field and over the middle than Tyrod ever was able to do. Yes, I remember the year where Tyrod was connecting on his bombs with Watkins and Goodwin, but aside from those bombs he seemed much more content checking it down. Another area that JA is already ahead of Tyrod is his pocket presence. JA struggled pre injury with his pocket presence and looked flustered and was getting sacked a bunch but post injury he was very decisive. He would either stand in the pocket tall and wait for a play to develop or he would immediately escape it and look to make a play. How many times did we see Tyrod take these killer sacks that killed drives? Another area that JA is ahead of Tyrod and it sometimes works to his detriment but he throws past the sticks much more often than Tyrod. How refreshing is that to see? Tyrod's main strength was that he didn't turn the ball over and I don't think JA will ever protect the ball as well as Tyrod but of course that tentativeness of Tyrod also led to a meh sort of offensive output. I just don't think that mindset is part of JA's DNA.

I agree with most of this but that still doesn't explain their Red Zone Defense. It was bad, really bad and cost us two games. And it did appear there were times that the defense wasn't generating pass pressure and we really didn't adjust and try to do things to raise the pressure. And, the three awful games we had against the run. Yes, we did really well if you discount those three games, but that needs to be addressed.

Final Tremaine Edmunds numbers, shoutout from Bills PR
Magox replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'll end up being a mighty fine player in this league. I still think he's better suited as an OLB, but no matter where they put him, he'll be a strength. -
Three areas need improvement: A) Red zone defense was terrible. The season before last we were near the tops in RED ZONE defense but gave up a decent bit of yards. We were a bend but don't break defense. This year we barely bent but when we did we broke. That will require some serious examining and fixing. B) Even though we were pretty good against the run, there were a few games where we were eviscerated and that cannot happen as often as it did. That I chalk up to bad game planning and a failed adjustment to fix it during the game. They need to examine how they can improve on the coaching side of things for that not to repeat again. C) We need to get after the QB better. If that means adding more talent or at least dialing up some additional pressure packages, blitzes and stunts. However it needs to be done, get it done.
