  1. With the wind in his face.
  2. Strange that the fact that he was on the verge of retiring didn't come up when the Bills spoke with him about bringing him on. I'm sure that this didn't just occur to him yesterday.
  3. Why to you hate the Bills? ?
  4. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I agree that dumping McCarron didn't affect the season one bit. Getting a draft pick for him was like stealing. The real problem was going into the season without at least a mediocre veteran on the roster to start with. But it's in the past at this point.
  5. THIS year the observations were correct!
  6. " I’m sure Sean McDermott was clapping, at least doing mental reps of clapping." ?
  7. Correcting gramatical problems on people's Twitter posts?
  8. What are the numbers you're referring to? I'm not saying he's bad, but what are the numbers that show him as a top 5 CB? Think of all the resources the Bills gave up to get into position to draft Allen one year after they could have had Mahomes or Watson without giving up anything except their regular pick. Hopefully it wall works out in the end but it's certainly a missed opportunity, at least.
  9. Agree. Lofton isn’t really in the conversation, IMO. And Moulds could have had a better career than Reed too if he played with Kelly his who,e career instead of the clowns he was saddled with.
  10. Professional sports are not a venue where you can flip a switch and turn on quality play because you got the message and are finally going to try hard. It takes long periods of sacrifice and commitment to working on your game and improving. I think that ship has sailed for Benjamin.
  11. The offense was a machine in those years, especially in camp. I remember reading report after report about that Kelly was on fire and how "the ball never hit the ground" during practice.
  12. At this point it looks like an average draft to me. The Bills got two solid starters - White and Milano and two borderline starters- Dawkins and Jones. Now if Dawkins or Jones can develop into solid starters then it would improve in my mind. If they both become solid starters, then it's a great draft.
  13. It's so hard to break teams down by position group and get an accurate reading of their overall quality. So much depends on cohesion and execution as a team. That's where the Patriots excel. They have great coaching, great leadership, team first players and experience at QB so that the whole is always more than the sum of their parts.
  14. It is interesting to see how many people on TBD support McDermott and Beane and their efforts to build a team of unselfish, team first players but then drool over guys like Beckham and Brown who are as me first as they come.
  15. He needs a real haircut.
  16. Would have been better to wait until halftime of game 2.
  17. As a kid playing in the park, this was our signature TD celebration. Not just showing up late but jogging over from 5 yards away while someone else made the play and then celebrating like they did something. Marcel Dareus comes to mind.
  18. I'm concerned that Beasley's skill set isn't going to jive with Allen's. I think to take advantage of a guy like Beasley you need a QB to make quick, correct reads and accurate throws with touch. Not saying that Allen can't eventually do that but it certainly doesn't look like the strong point of his game right now.
  19. Ahead of Brady and Brees. Ludicrous. Maybe the Pats or Saints should propose a straight up trade for Mariotta? It seems like they would be getting the better of the deal.
  20. I can see how a small, shifty RB and a fast TE could look good playing without contact. Let's see how they look when the hitting starts and they have to block, break away from physical coverage, etc. I'm not saying that they won't be successful in the NFL but I suspect that there will be an adjustment period for both of them.
  21. That was part of the old Jimmy Johnson system: fast as heck playmakers at LB and DB that can't be run against because your DL is dominating (and deep so that they can't be worn down.) The Bills DL isn't there yet but they're working on it.
  22. Steve Young is too low. He's definitely top 10 and arguably top 5, ahead of Brees, IMO. The only think he did wrong was backup Montana for the early part of his career. This not only delayed his career as a starter, and thus reduced his opportunity to rack up trophies, stats and awards, but it also cast a shadow over his achievements and abilities which skewed people's perspective as to how great they really were.
  23. This is exactly true. I remember the joyous reactions of many black people after the verdict and didn't for a second get the impression that they were happy because an innocent man was justly acquitted. They were celebrating the fact that a corrupt system, and the LAPD in particular, took one right between the eyes. This was a masterful performance by Cochran.
