The. Ills offense is totally one-dimensional and their defense is wildly inconsistent. But if they can run it and the defense shows up they can beat any of those teams.

If you watched the team back then it was obvious that Moulds was a rocket sitting on the launch pad. It was just a matter of time and whether he would have a decent QB to help him showcase his abilities.

They have no choice but to help Jackson make the jump but I can’t think of the last DL who went from looking that bad to a becoming a solid contributor. Usually you at least see some flashes in year one (unless they’re hurt). I hesitate to even say it, but I got Maybin vibes when I watched him in PS.

It’ll probably be Solomon playing that “marauder” role now that Hoecht is out, but he’s not great at it. I have doubts that Williams can do it given his small size and lack of pass rushing skill set. TBH, there really isn’t a good candidate on the team. That’s why Hoecht was brought here in the first place.

Would be awesome if the Bills signed him to the PS, paid him to recover and rehab from his injury, then when he’s finally ready to play, someone else signs him and he’s gone. 😂

Hard to run PA vs a blitz heavy team that plans man. The DBs aren’t looking in the backfield to be fooled and PAs are slower developing plays so the blitzers tend to be all over the QB. Probably won’t see a ton of that vs the Chiefs.

Bottom line is that Eric Moulds isn’t walking out the tunnel on Sunday. They need to find a way to generate big plays without a premium WR. Maybe scheme things up for Kincaid more? It’s tough.

Absolutely. When your offense is getting stopped there is more pressure on your defense irregardless of your offensive philosophy. The issue in the 90s was supposedly that the defense didn’t have time to rest if the offense went three and out, or similar, while running hurry up. However, if those defenses got off the field more consistently on third downs then they wouldn’t be so tired.

I’ve never been a big fan of the whole “complimentary football” concept. I think the offense should be doing everything possible to score points and put as much pressure on the opposing team as possible. Hurry up offense; 5 WR sets; whatever works. Stopping the other offense is not their problem, IMO.
