Doctor (24 yr old) that played with JP at Tulane...

Exactly. -
That's not what happened to Patrick Kane either. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4412205

Could 32 Year Old Ryan Denney Get Cut ?
vincec replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that this is the key. If Kelsay and Denney essentially provide the same thing, then cut the guy with the bigger salary. The Bills front office will be on board with this too. All this being said, I think that Ellis will be the one to go. Just a hunch. -
What made you think that 7-9 was underachieving?
vincec replied to SouthGeorgiaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dick Jauron has been a head coach for all or part of 10 NFL seasons. That's a career for most coaches. His career record is 57 - 76. He has had 1 winning season and 9 losing seasons. He made the playoffs once and lost in the first round. He is a loser, by definition. I don't understand what magical evolution his supporters are waiting for. Chances are that if he does have a winning season, then that is the aberration not the 10 seasons before. It always amazes me how much having been a head coach before counts when teams are looking at HC candidates. It doesn't really seem to matter if you are successful or not... but I digress. -
Does anyone else think we're thin at backup G/C?

Gaddis will not make the team, if that's what the is about... -

I don't think so. The usual thinking is not to disrupt two positions due to an injury at one. If a guard is hurt, I think that McKinney or Chambers comes in to play guard. If it's the center, then Wood to center and McKinney/Chambers at guard. Based on his play last season, I think that Chambers is a decent backup at both guard and tackle. I don't know about McKinney. We'll have to see how he does if he ever gets in there in a real game. -
Funny. I noticed the same thing...
-
That's what I saw too.

Walker is not a strong run blocker. That's ok though. As long as he can protect Trent's blind side in the passing game the Bills can focus on running it between the tackles behind Levitre, Hamgartner and Wood. Overall, the running game may not be that strong though...

In the current league I would say 1) Belichick 2) Fisher 3) Coughlin 4) Tomlin 5) Reid A Hall of Fame QB certainly helps, but I can think of a few HOF coaches without HOF QBs: Joe Gibbs Bud Grant John Madden George Halas George Allen Dick Vermeil (Warner has a chance though...)
-
Very good defensive coach. Good organizer and decent leader. OK with cheating if it helps him win. Lucky to find a HOF QB, which turned his record around and probably made his career. On the other hand he knew what to do with Brady when he got him and allowed the offense to develop around him. He's definitely top 10 in today's game, not top ten all time though by any stretch.

Chris Collinsworth, A good replacement for Madden?
vincec replied to DCbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He should talk more about the game and less about off the field issues. -
Why are the commentators on TV saying that this is "shocking"? It makes perfect sense to me. Vick is not the starting QB, McNabb is. If Vick works his way back into starting form, then he can provide an option to McNabb when his contract expires.
-
Now you're making some sense!
-
Yup. He needs to see some action against some better players, but he beat up on the 3rd stringers...

What I saw from last nights game
vincec replied to WVUFootball29's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly my thoughts in watching that play. I know that it's a lot easier to relax and make good decisions when you're not worried about the pass rush, but realistically that's not going to be the case this year. If Edwards is going to have a good year he's going to have to make good, quick decisions in the face of some pressure. It wouldn't hurt if he developed a little more mobility inside the pocket either. -

Don't joke. Even at his age, I'll bet that Bruce would be an upgrade in obvious passing situations... -
Yeah, right.
-
Yes.
-
Exactly. Everybody is really good, shows a lot of promise or is underrated... until the Bills waive them. Forget the non sense that the coach's are feeding the press and fans. Look at when they play and their performance on the field. At this point, Bell is not even the backup tackle.
-
I actually agree with all of this except the "solid pass rusher" part. Anyone who thinks that hasn't been watching. Against the run, however, he is solid. Not dominant, but solid. If we could replace him in passing situations with a pass rushing specialist (like Maybin), then we might have a RDE combo worth something.

Why do so many people seem to think that Walker belongs at RT? Is it because he is too slow to play LT? Walker looked like a strong pass blocker last year (for a RT) but his run blocking was not great. You could see that by how little confidence the Bills had in running to the right last year and Kugler confirmed it in an interview recently: "... I think he's suited for left," Kugler said. "He is a talented pass protector. He knows he has to improve on some things in the run game ...." (http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/676853.html) A good pass blocker and mediocre run blocker doesn't sound like a RT to me. He's one of the Bills best 5 lineman so he will play somewhere for now, but I'd say that he needs to try and make the transition to LT if he want's to stick around here long term. Butler still has a lot to prove, but I'm kind of excited about him and Wood on the right side as a run blocking tandem.

Fowler signs with Cardinals - not that it matters
vincec replied to phxbacker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that it matters, but Fowler lost his starting job to Duke Preston (what does that tell you!). Preston took over when Fowler got hurt and kept starting at C the rest of the season even when Fowler was healthy. In the second game against NE when Butler was hurt, I assumed that the Bills would play Fowler at C and Preston at G as they had done earlier in the year, but instead they kept Preston at C and started Chambers at G even though he had never played G before. That's when I knew that Fowler had fallen off the depth chart. -

Well, he can't be that good a backup. Last year when Butler was injured the Bills played Chambers at guard instead of Fowler, who was healthy. Considering that Chambers had no guard experience that I know of at that time, I'd say that confidence in Fowler as a backup was pretty much out the window.
