I get the sense that the Bill's confidence is very shaky going into this season, with they way last season ended, the new players starting on the OL and Trent still not showing great form in the pre-season. I doubt that they really believe that they can go into NE on a Monday night opener and win, but EVERYTHING depends on that game. If they find a way to win, confidence will be restored and I think they will win at least 10 games and go to the playoffs. If they lose, then it could get very bad, very quickly.

The Bills aren't going to win the SB with Walker at LT, so you might as well try Bell to see what he's got. To paraphrase Buddy Ryan: We don't know if the young guy can do it, but we know that the old guy can't. RT is a little trickier. Walker is an average starting RT. Maybe that's the best we've got and maybe that would be good enough to win a championship if the other line positions are strong, but we're paying him a lot of money to be average and I think that Butler should be given a shot to see if he can develop into a stronger player. So, if it's close between Walker and Bell in terms of performance, I would simply bench Walker for now and see how it goes. If it looks promising, then Walker is probably gone by next year.

Jeff Wright was a decent DT, who would of been very good in a 4-3 instead of playing nose tackle, IMO.

You only want to play someone at a given position if: a) you can win a Superbowl with them there OR b) you think that they can develop into someone who you can win a Superbowl with. I don't think we're going to see much more development out of Langston Walker. He is an 8 year pro. He pretty much is what he is. So, can the Bill win a championship with him at LT? RT?

Because he is not worth the $$ he is getting at RT. He is a pretty good pass blocker for a RT but a poor run blocker. I said this several times over the last few weeks: LW is either going to make it at LT or will be gone after this season.

Yes. Sun Tzu said that to feign weakness, one must first be strong. I've never felt that weak O-lines lines can cover this up by using screens and draws. Screens and draws work when the defense is over committing to the pass rush. This only happens if they don't think that they can get pressure on the QB with their standard pass rush (i.e. the O-Line is strong in pass protection). If the O-line is weak, there's no need to overcommit. The defense can play with good discipline and balance and cover their responsibilities more easily. If, on the other hand, the defense is obsessed with getting to the QB because they aren't getting any pressure, then discipline breaks down and screens and draws open up. JMO.

I really don't think that you can properly evaluate the level of talent on the Bills, including at QB, until Jauron is out of there. I really don't think that this game planning and game management gets the most out of the players we have.

The sad thing about the Jets is that they are getting their butts kicked, but still look better than the Bills. That's ok though, it's just preseason. The Bills will turn it on when the season starts like they always do. Same with Jauron: he may look weak now, but when the season starts he will turn into a fearless coaching genius like he always does.

I don't think that Schouman will be cut. He is the starting TE after all. I do think that Stupar will make the team. I think that Fine will be the odd man out. JMO.
