  1. + 3 wasted time outs, throwing a hail mary instead of trying a long field goal into the wind, absolutely no half time adjustments.
  2. It's definitely the worst offense ever... at least that I can remember, all the way back to 1979 or so.
  3. That was the worst football game I've ever seen... possibly the worst professional game ever played. Both offenses were utterly inept. Cleveland won even though their QB completed 2 passes all day. What was his QB rating? 4? It's not like the defenses were dominating. The Bills couldn't do anything because of atrocious offensive line play, a ridiculous number of penalties, poor decision making by the QB, wasted time outs and bad coaching. Cleveland was no better. Their receivers can't catch a cold and they couldn't even run it on a Bills team with only one starting linebacker left playing. What was Eric Mangini smiling about after the game? Isn't he supposed to be an offensive genius? This was truly painful to watch. It was like a blooper reel that lasted an entire game.
  4. How can you possibly judge any player who is being coached by Jauron accurately? DJ can turn a HOF wide receiver who has averaged over 1,000 yards and 10 tds per season over his career into a non-factor. If Edwards spent a couple of years playing for Mike Shanahan, I'll bet that he would start to look a lot better.
  5. Wow! You're smart.
  6. My thinking also. I think that Wilson believes he is too old to start over and that's the main reason he didn't dump Jauron last year. It was wishful thinking mostly. I think that he has other things on his mind these days besides the Bills.
  7. I know that this sentiment may not be shared by very many people here, but I want to say that I admire Dick Jauron's character. I watch his press conferences and I am struck by how candid he is under the worst possible conditions and how ready he is to take the blame for his players, even when some of them (like TE) deserve a lot more than he does. I've been there and it takes a tremendous amount of perspective on life and courage to behave the way he does. I knoe people here hate him for not blowing up like Jim Mora or Denny Green, but the fact is, he is a bigger man than them. Unfortunately, this does not change the fact that he has not gotten the job done and needs to go. He is accountable for his teams performance and he knows this better than anyone. I don't revel in this. I really wish that he had done better here.
  8. Me too. Best available player at one of these positions.
  9. I believe the correct term would be "psychological victory". I don't see how anything that happens on the football field can represent a "moral victory" unless it's the forces of good versus evil or something.
  10. You shouldn't risk challenging that call because you need your time outs at the end of a close game that you are currently losing. You just need to go for it to try and light a charge under your team and stop playing Russian roulette with the Saints offense. I know, percentages, blah blah blah, but anyone with a feeling for the pulse of the game knew that we needed to go for that.
  11. Jauron: "... a disappointing loss, the guys really fought hard... I tip my hat to our efforts and our toughness." He tips his hat to our efforts????!!! Classic. He should really be wearing a bag over his head, not just the sun glasses. Maybe he's working his way up to it.
  12. I saw this too. It's surprisingly common. I saw the same the same thing with Indianapolis and the NY Giants. It's not always an audible from a pass to a run, it's often a called run where the QB decides where the play is going based on the defense that he sees and communicates this to the team at the line of scrimmage. It's pretty effective, especially if once in a while the audible is to a play action pass that goes over the top of a safety that is cheating up based on the audible. On another note... We make it way to easy for the defense to double team the guys they want to. TO and Evans are very easy to find. They are ALWAYS on opposite sides of the formation and ALWAYS the wide receivers. If they would line them up in the slot, in the backfield, as a wing-back, on the same side, etc. then it wouldn't be so easy.
  13. I noticed this as well. It does not do much to demonstrate the thoroughness and commitment to quality of the writer, or enhance his credibility.
  14. I suggest some creativity on offense to get our WRs the ball. Put TO in motion or throw to him out of the backfield to get him away from the double team. Put TO in the slot and have him work the middle some. How about putting TO and Evans on the same side and have TO work the middle. What happened to those screen passes we saw in week 1? Etc.
  15. Jauron, grow some balls
  16. Jauron gave his usual mediocre performance, but this one is on Edwards, Van Pelt and the O-Line. If they had been able to put together ANYTHING, this could have been a win.
  17. I was pissed that TO didn't get the ball. I can only imagine how he feels. I saw a lot of 5 and 6 man rushes mixed in by the Saints defense, no excuse not to try and get the Ball to Evans and TO. Put TO in the slot, put him in motion to get him away from the double team, hand him the ball if necessary...
  18. Exactly. They playing Byrd to get him experience, not because he is better than Wilson.
  19. Professional, multi-millionaire NFL players hazing each other like college fraternity brothers is ridiculous. Can you imagine if people in other professions got hazed when they first started working? Doctors? Laywers? Teachers?
  20. Initially, I would say that they can split carries 50-50, but then I think of Madden always saying that "when a team says that it has two backs, that really means that it doesn't have any." One of them is going to have to be the guy that gets 70% of the downs, including the ones at crunch time. I think that Marshawn is the better runner, but Lynch's versatility has been very valuable in the current offense.
  21. This is what's going to happen. I expect that it will be in the next few weeks.
  22. I don't see how this can work out in Crabtree's favor. He is holding out because he wants top 5 money, so why would he be happy with even less money if he drops in the draft? He will either get drafted in the top 5 and get paid what he wants (which, after a year away from football, I doubt) or his agent will agree to a reduced deal with tons of escalator clauses BEFORE anyone will risk drafting him later than that. I expect the latter. My guess is that teams will be willing to try a late 1st round early second round pick with the right kind of deal.
