It's too early to know the situation, but we really need to be looking for a LT in the first round UNLESS we pick top 5. Then I would take the best available player available regardless of position. Maybe a CB.

No point in cutting Parrish. I say, bring him into training camp with the other receivers, let him compete and let the new coach decide. I doubt he makes the team, but you might as well keep him this year for the body and next year in case the new coach sees something in him.

That's the key. To paraphrase a quote from Rudy- If Parrish had 1/10 the heart of Welker he'd be All Pro by now. As it is, he's third team.

Punt returners are a dime a dozen. Parrish can't play receiver so how much would you pay for an above average returner who plays maybe 5 plays a game? The Bills are much better off keeping him on the roster as an extra body until the season is over and then trying again to deal him. If they can't, he'll get cut in training camp.

Fisher has lost his mind... "I wanted to feel like a winner"?! Can you imagine Jauron doing this? HA! Actually, it would be pretty funny if it was Jauron...

Jauron is a decent defensive coach. That's what got him a head coaching job originally. Too bad that he has no clue about anything else...

At the end of regulation, didn't the Bills still have one timeout when they let the clock run down from 26 seconds to attempt a field goal on second down? At least run another play... unless you're worried that they'd go offsides or lose yards like they did on the previous one. If they were willing to throw it, they could've run two plays. I guess they thought that a long Lindell field goal attempt into the wind was money in the bank. Time management is not a Dick Jauron strong point.

That's what I saw too. The DE's losing contain and the linebackers over-pursuing. There were a couple of straight ahead dives off tackle, but very little between the tackles. For the Bills to improve against the run, not only do they need better linebackers, but they need better DEs also.

Suh will be #1 or #2 overall, so I doubt that the Bills will have a shot at him. Buffalo had better not take a QB either, unless they want another one to get his butt kicked and lose his confidence behind a poor OL. The pick HAS to be OL. From what I read, the best is OT Russell Okung from OK State. Several preliminary mock drafts have TB taking him, if they finish worse than the Bills, but he would be the guy to target even if Buffalo has to move up a spot or two. BTW- If the Bills finish so badly that they draft #1 or #2 and Suh is available, they should absolutely take him. Take the best available player in the #1 or #2 spots regardless of position and Suh is the guy.

Where is Joe Namath on these lists? He was better than half the guys being talked about (like Bradshaw). I doubt that many QBs could've played in Namath's his era and put up the numbers he did. Also, Montana was great but he is the #1 beneficiary of the changes in passing rules and Bill Walsh's "west coast offense". If Dan Marino would've played for Walsh people would be talking about his records like they do about Gretzky's in hockey. As to the original question. I think Kelly was slightly better than Fouts. Fouts was a great passer, probably even better than Kelly, but he lacked Kelly's leadership skills. If I had to take one for a big game, it would be Kelly.

Yes. More than any other position in the No Fun League, the QB is developed by the pro staff. The pro passing game is very different from the college game. That is why coaches like Mike Holmgren or Mike Shanahan always seem to have all pro QBs while Dick Jauron's QBs always stink.

Look, the Jets aren't that good. It's the NFL and the talent disparity between any two teams is not that dramatic. It's not like Florida is playing UB or something. The Bills may get spanked, but they will be competitive (for at least a little while).

The problems against the run are the linebackers, IMO. The DL has been very good, especially Stroud and Williams. Just look at their tackle totals. They've also generated a decent pass rush, although the DL still needs to improve in this area. I'd be for picking up Seymour if he could replace Kelsay and DE. Otherwise, he would be a good rotational player for a year or two with Williams and his price tag is probably too high for that.

Miami went from 1-15 to 11-5 in one year. It can be done.

I know that things look bleak right now, but after thinking about a healthy Bills roster, I think that the Bills are one good draft and a new head coach away from turning things around. On offense we have two good running backs, a good interior OL, solid WRs and a good TE prospect. We need to draft a LT obviously. Given our record we should be able to get a very good one. If Brad Butler comes back, we may only need one new starter. We will also need another WR to replace TO. I think the key on offense will be a new coach and system to help TE. He is regressing every week but I think that he can be salvaged. Frankly, he was probably getting better coaching at Stanford than with the Bills. On defense we have a strong interior with good DTs and middle LB. We are deep at corner. We could use a bigger linebacker to play on the running downs and some future prospects at DE and DT but the rest is there. So... A new coach - the key. LT (starter) LB (starter) WR (prospect) DE (prospect) DT (prospect) We can do this next year.

What was the problem on defense? They allowed 6 points and 3 of them were a gift from our special teams unit. I'm sure we'll see Nic Harris now that everyone else is hurt. As for Steve Johnson... we could add Jerry Rice in his prime to the mix and he would probably not register a catch.
